"Lovely little neighborhood cafe with delish food and lattes. I've had their gyro plate before and am a fan of their rose latte. Sweet staff and relaxed vibes. Glad this exists in CV!"
"Decided to try a new breakfast spot and found Amy's Grill on Yelp. It's in the same shopping center as Fitness 19, Sonic, and Grocery Outlet. There's plenty of parking available since it's in a big shopping center. They have about 5-7 tables outside in their patio and about 6-8 tables inside the small restaurant. I went on a Saturday morning around 10 am and was greeted and seated instantly. I got the Veggie Omelette with Cheese which comes with bell peppers, onions, spinach, and mushrooms. It comes with hash browns or hot fries which are like country potatoes and toast. I got the hash browns and after tasting the hot fries I wish I would've ordered those as they had lemon pepper seasoning and were really crispy. The omelette plate was a perfect serving for myself, but compared to other restaurants it was smaller so if you are super hungry it might not be enough. I did wish they had hot sauce besides tapatío that paired with the omelette to give it a bit more taste. My sister-in-law liked her strawberry banana waffle which looked delicious. The staff were really nice and attentive the entire time and the food arrived pretty fast. If you want a normal breakfast I would recommend Amy's. On a beautiful day it would be nice to sit outside and enjoy breakfast. I will definitely be returning in the future and would recommend to friends and family's. Check them out!"

"- monkey waffles: 3.5/5 - so yummy, can't go wrong with nutella, banana, waffles, and whip cream but not anything special- breeze benedict: 4.5/5 - i was craving eggs benedict but i was also craving steak and eggs and this had tritip in it!! it was perfect and i would definitely come back here to try their other eggs benedict- iced cookie butter latte: 5/5 - i'm craving this right now as i'm typing this the biscoff cookie was so good dipped in the whip cream- strawberry mimosa: 3/5 - pretty good, but i think i shouldve listened to other reviews and got the rose gold onei had to ask the guys working at the front for our server's name because she was busy when we left, but her name was maribelle (i think that's how you spell it) and she was extremely kind and friendly! she was very attentive and even got us extra syrup/sugar for our drink bc my gf thought it wasn't sweet enough haha. give her a raise!!the interior was so adorable and very trendy, it was cozy and pretty at the same time! when i sat down in the booth i was a little startled at first because the seats were sooo cushioned and comfortable. should definitely give this spot a try, i'm surprised it's not as big as the breakfast club or bills cafe (unless it is then idk)"
"Absolutely great! Went on a rainy day, and the ambiance felt straight out of a movie. Perfect place to grab a coffee and read a book. However, it did get quite full after a while. We went for breakfast, and one downside: ordering food was a little confusing. They don't have a food menu conveniently placed for you to look at before ordering. We had to wait to reach the cashier to look at the menu at the counter, which held up the line. The wait after ordering wasn't too long, which was nice, and food was brought to our table. We ordered a Cesar Wrap and Chaplin. Both were great and packed with flavor. highly recommend for a nice brunch and cafe spot!"
"A solid, old school cafe. I got an Italian soda that was perfect, sat by the window using the WiFi and did a pleasant few hours of work."
"Cool spot for açaí bowls! I got the little bear and it was a good ratio of base to toppings. I added chia pudding to it and that elevated it even more. The green smoothie was also really good. They were super quick to make our order and very friendly when asking about the menu. Can't wait to come back to try more! There's some indoor seating available. Overall it's a small spot."
"I ordered a cake online and this was honestly the most amazing cake I have ever seen. I asked for an edible print cake and the picture quality was so good it looked real. I placed the order online and they were very responsive and sent me a text the next day to confirm details. The cake was absolutely gorgeous, ready to be picked up on time, and they even gave me a free plastic cake cutter."
"Amazing bagels and coffee. Loved that it was organic coffee as well. Service was friendly and quick with orders."
"Hudson Bay is a coffee shop with the best breakfast burrito I've ever had, hands down. The amount of ingredients in the burrito is just right and balanced, without being greasy. It also comes with an addicting spicy salsa that I like to dab on top before each bite. The club is amazing also, just like the burrito it's nicely balanced and flavorful, and that comes with a scoop of their potato salad which I can never get enough of. You can tell the food is thoughtfully prepared with love. I'm always glad to pop in when I'm in the neighborhood."
"There is a lot to like about a Damask Rose, but i'd be amiss if I didn't make a special shout out to the folks who work here. A neighborhood gem. I ordered the: Cheese flatbreadTurkish delightKashmiri Chai"
"Stars: 3.5I've been eyeing this place and finally got to try it today. You get two samples per person. The ice cream shop serves unique Indian inspired flavors. I ended up getting one single scoop of the guava with hint of chili. I enjoyed the flavor and texture but it was the tiniest scoop I've ever had. I feel like I finished it in less than two minutes. I was sad that it was gone so quickly! You need to spend a minimum of $10 to use credit, so good thing my husband always carries cash. The staff helping us were friendly. The shop itself is cute and clean."
"Savory, sweet, crispy and soft. You get all these sensations with the empanadas here. Delicious doesn't begin to describe it. Although a bit pricey, it's well worth it for a first try. You'll be taking yourself back for additional visits. The empanadas are behind a glass case, you select the ones you want, 6 minutes to warm, and as soon as they come out, they're perfect temperature. I'll be back for more. Buen provecho!"

Great service. Lovely ambience. Delicious food and drinks. Pet friendly!! It's a staple in Castro Valley, I love visiting from Hayward. Their espresso drinks are smooth, rich and so yummy, as well as their Chai. You gotta try any of their platters, get a drink and take a sweet baklava on your way out. Perfect place for breakfast, brunch or lunch + normally a great place to study, read, talk with friends or eat outside when the weather is nice.

Amy's grill is a hole in the wall brunch place in a strip mall. The food was ok and the cafe was definitely outdated. I got the veggie omelette and it was typical portion. The garlic they use comes from bottle and would have appreciated more fresh ingredients. The service was friendly and the food came very fast! A typical breakfast and brunch place in the area.

Yelp literally lead me here. We were in the area looking for a restaurant to have brunch at and Yelp lead us here This is a cute little restaurant located in a small shopping center. We walked in and were told there was about a 15 min wait...no worriesInside is nicely decorated, rather small but big enough. The music they play is a vibe, sets for a nice ambiance Our waitress was friendly and accommodatingFood is good, large portions, prices are reasonableI cant wait to come back and try their Ube Waffles

I had such an amazing experience here! I was otw home from work but traffic was so crazy, I decided to stop by this spot cause I thought coffee, crepes, and beer were an interesting combo. When I got there, it had a nice cafe vibe like I would love to study there, but at the same time, it was nice that they had different types of beer available. The customer service was super nice and friendly. Overall, definitely worth a visit. I tried one of their seasonal lattes, the chicken pest crepe, and one of their sweets. SO bomb!!!

Got their matcha but didn't realize it was presweetened. The barista was really nice and made me a large latte on the house to make up for it. Came here on a rare rainy day and the vibes were perfect. Free WiFi and lots of seating.

If you're in the Berkeley area looking for a tasty Acai bowl, Palm Acai cafe is it. Every time I visit the bay I always try a new spot so my sister recommended this cafe and it did not miss. It was easy to find parking and the walkability in the area is great. Cute, small interior with a few high top tables and a window counter. They were pretty busy but took no more than 10 minutes to receive my order. I decided on the Hunter bowl and it was delicious! Will be back to order another bowl...or two

Exceptional customer service and tasty cakes!Within 24 hours of submitting a custom cake request, someone responded to balmy inquiry with price and other important details about my order and the order process. I was updated every step of the way until my order was picked up. I was even followed up by the staff to check up on how the cake was.We ordered the mango cheesecake (fyi this was not a traditional cheesecake, but more like the fluffy japanese cheesecake). Every person who ate the cake said it was very tasty and wish they could have had seconds. We will 100% return to Alice Street bakery for future cakes and other goods!

The sandwiches and coffee here are excellent. Can't get enough, keep coming back for more. Service is also excellent. What a neighborhood gem, so grateful for passing by and deciding to drop in that one day, now it's a favorite place for snacking on the run.

"Sandwich was excellent! Good size and tasty! We were just walking and found this place. We decided to stop and try it! We will be back to try their tortas! They sound delicious!"
"I had shrimpPad Thai and shrimp spring rolls. The spring rolls had too much lettuce and some didn't have any shrimp. But I enjoyed the ones containing shrimp and I liked the sauce that was served with it. I also enjoyed the pad Thai."
"- beautiful back patio with lots of plants- enormous servings of fresh rolls / spring rolls- friendly staff- good for remote workWorked remote from here for a while afternoon and it was lovely. Servings are really big!"
"My first time at RAW Superfood Cafe and it did not disappoint! The decor is really cute and there is lots of natural light. My daughter used the kiosk to place our order. She ordered the koji salami sandwich us to share and 2 magic matcha drinks. The sandwich was a good portion to share and drinks were yummy. Service was fast and friendly. I would definitely come back or visit another location closer to home :)"
"I used to really love the brie and date scones, but when I got one today I could not taste the brie nor any chunks of date aside from the one piece up top. Really bland and tasted like baking soda. I do love this gem of a cafe, but wish they would tighten up their food to its previous glory."
"This little place has DELICIOUS food! My friend and I both had the delightful dolmas. Mmmmm! I had the caprese salad (the two pieces of bread were a nice addition to the roasted red bell peppers, olives, mozzarella, and tomato slices in olive oil and vinegar) and she had a Mediterranean salad with hummus and pita pieces. She told me the paprika on the hummus had quite the kick (hot spicy isn't my jam...) and was yummy. I had an Italian soda and she had iced tea. They brought our food to the table after we ordered at the window. They also made sure we had a full carafe of water so we didn't go without H20! The vibe of the dude at the window and the server guy were chill, friendly, helpful. Their little patio area had enough shade to feel cool on a warm day. The table was a bit sticky and the seating is metal chairs, so not very comfy. But the food... FABULOUS!"
"Hometown local cafe...great for a little breakfast date, team morning meeting, or just a quick sip/ bite to get your day started. I dropped in before I had a morning work meeting...I ended up getting a green tea matcha latte that was different but amazingly tasty along with a ham/ cheese crossaint and mini beignets! The counter waitress was nice but looked liked she was already done for the day and was only 9am. I will come back tho...I 'd like to sit and relax and people watch next time I go.....ciao for now"
"Though they're not known for their bagels, their plain bagels for the breakfast bagel are my absolute favorite! Not too large and not too expensive (5.50). Super crunchy exterior, love it"
"Service 11/10Food 10/10 People watching 9/10This is my favorite lunch spot near campus! Everything is tasty and fresh."
"Love their warm service, empanadas and cute outdoor patio area. It's a neighborhood gem!"
"WHO HURT YOU PEARL?I've come in to this place a few over the years, convenient for students at the university and the only coffee shop at the top of the hill. Lunch nd BBQ was always nice. Now their customer service has ALWAYS been a lil spotty, it's a family business and sometimes people have bad days. BUT TODAY DAMN. I walked in around 12:45 and Pearl immediately tells me "I'm busy just wait." I say okay and check out the menu and just kinda wait and honestly Pearl seems pissed to have another customer; I think her son stepped in to take my order. He was kind and the exchange was neutral. Then about five minutes pass and instead of saying "hey we got your sandwich ready" or "croissant sandwich" Pearl says "Yeah your sandwich is ready" and gives me the most passive aggressive face, like I had been such a bother to come in while she was "doing something"This was so obvious that another customer looked on with surprise at the interaction as I gathered my stuff and left. It seems a common theme for the staff here to be just kindof bothered by customers.OH AND THE SANDWICH WAS MADE WRONG."
"*** High XII Cafe & Coffee is back OPEN *** as of Monday, June 8th. Sadly, it's been closed due to the pandemic since March and then another couple of weeks due to the rioting/vandalizing/looting in Downtown Oakland. Senseless and definitely sad for small business trying to survive.I know everyone is on edge at this time, but High XII owner, Abby and staff, Jose and Leti (my apologies for not knowing the others) are wonderful, welcoming, friendly and help to start off your morning! Everyone there I might add, is doing a great job at following CDC recommendations: face masks, gloves, markings on the floor for social distancing, touchless payment, plexi, plastic drape to protect the food, employees and the customers while being ever so friendly and respectful... Definitely adding that extra star to this review! High XII Cafe has limited their hours (Mon-Fri, 8am - 1:30pm) and menu to a few breakfast items (some Starter Bakery goodies), Verve coffee with sandwiches and salad until they get back on their feet. This place is nothing fancy but great to grab a pastry and quick bite after getting off 12th Street BART station, with a short walk around the corner onto 11th.Show this business some love and support by stopping by, grabbing a bite (tip: the salmon and kale salad lunch is the best!) and making a small donation/tip for this business and hardworking staff! Pay it forward! :)"
"Thank you Yelpers. This place is located deep in a business park. No where near regular retail areas but it has the best vegetarian food around. I think it's associated with the temple next door. In either case the food was both filling, delicious and very healthy. I didn't feel run down like I do eating fast food or a quick burrito. The staff is super friendly and it's quiet with plenty of parking. Place is clean, spacious and had a very strong zen feel. Overall, a wonderful find with many more visits to come."
"This spot deserves an updated review. Unfortunately, still not a fan of milk teas, boba and sweet drinks BUT I am a fan of their savory items. Now, the reason for my update: *** BRAISED BEEF CHEEKS! You heard that right....this yummy dish is offered at a boba shop located in a strip mall in Hayward! Found out by accident when I saw a post on IG and Yelp friend (Natasha) posted a Sip and Savors' Special of the Day pic. This wonderful Italian dish was perfectly cooked, tender, melt-in-your mouth and rich on top of perfectly seasoned mashed potatoes with some baby carrots The owner/chef, John knows what he's doing! After chatting, I was right about his talent (to offer beef cheeks on your menu!): Michelin-trained chef and worked in various restaurants including with Chef David Fisher.....Foodies! you know whats up! Highly recommend Sip and Savor! I'm definitely going back for more! He needs to do a pop-up event to showcase his talents! *hint* :)Call for availability or DM via IG: @sipandsavorhayward"
"Service was excellent and the food was so delicious. We went on a Sunday for brunch and it was quite and relaxing event. I tried a breakfast sandwich. It was tasty and the egg was not over cooked. It was over medium but not runny. It was delicious. My nephew had a mixed fruit crepe and his girlfriend had a chicken sandwich. It looked so elegantly plated. Our server was a very polite lady. The egg-rolls were savory with much meat filling. They tasted homemade Vietnamese food. I also ordered a beef & veggie fried noodle dish, it was delicious and we had to bring it home because it was so much food. The drinks were out of this world. We had a macha vanilla latte, Vietnamese coffees, and an avocado smoothie. The food and drinks were authentic and delicious! Service was superb"
"We LOVE Montse's Cafe! Lots of options for breakfast and lunch and the coffee is amazing every time! Every one provides amazing service and is super friendly!"
"Saattvik Indian Dhaba has been here for years. Outside & inside dining options. Both just a few tables. No decor. Menu posted on wall behind food counter.Offering: thalis, Indian vegeterian food. Chaats & most items available only on weekend. Order at counter, pay, get food..Eats: 2 non paneer entries thali (9.99) + chai..-choose eggplant & spinach from steam table. Each scoop+, generous serving. Both had bold favors from Indian spices & herbs. Not bland at all.-ate some (basmatic) rice. (Usually do with curries).-rice was also a big serving. -2 tawa roti tasted better than the usual naan. Chai wasn't a disappointment. Seem made to order. When i asked how much? Was Told $15. I Paid it . Didn't question the math. Older counter person was helpful navigating my ordering. I was lost, just followed his lead. I wanted to take leftovers to go in a box. He scoop a spoon of panner curry on top of my rice. Informed me a box would cost me $10, Since they only use it to sell take out orders. We settled on aluminum foil to cover my plate. Win-Win!4.5 stars food tasted great! Paneer curry too. If repeat, need to come weekends for full menu. Place probably busier..."
"This spot is spacious and quiet! Like quieter than a library! Well, until they start up the blender. A perfect spot to get work done! A true gem! They have some great options for meals and caffeine! I love Thai Ice Tea, so I decided to try their Thai Iced Coffee. It's similarly sweetened like an Oakland Chill from Rise and Grind! So I love that I can hit another spot for deliciously sweet Ice Coffee! The staff are friendly. They are as mellow as the cafe. They aren't heavily staffed, so drinks and food come out as quickly as possible. But, when you are sitting in and working, it's quick enough... I felt relaxed in the spot. No rush. No hustle and bustle.I'll definitely stop here more often!"
"We enjoyed everything we ordered!!! Spam Masubi, friend rice, Hawaiian roll French toast, loco moco.... There wasn't a single bad item on our table! The menu is on the smaller side, but everything was delicious!"
"Obrigado! Wow, quite simply delicious. A jewel in East Bay, this restaurant did not disappoint. Coming in for lunch on a Saturday, I was delighted that they have a buffet option for $19. For those with lesser appetites there's the option of having your food weighed for $10/lb. Whatever your preference may be, you can bet you'll be stuffed to the brim with some incredibly delicious Brazilian goodness. Not one to shy from the challenge of a buffet meal, I proceeded to try almost every single dish that was on display in all its glory. Some feijoada, check. Bolinho de bacalhau, yes please. Moqueca baiana, but of course. Farofa--is that even a question? A little bit of oxtail here, a little bit of fried chicken there, some rice to bind it together, and Guaraná soda to wash it all down. And that's just the first plate!Small, unassuming restaurant with some authentic flavors--how could you go wrong? I highly suggest a visit if you are in the area. It'll be worth the time and money."
"We found a hidden gem!!!!!!! A Palestinian and Peruvian place all in one?! Amazing!! Had to try and definitely going to be back here soon. Also. Wow. I kid you not, this place has the BEST pita bread I've had in my life. And I love Arabic food so I've had many. But seriously the one from here is so fluffy, baked perfectly, and warm and toasty. Shwarma sandwich with chicken -- just stuffed and packed with food. Good balance of flavor-packed and moist chicken, amazingggg sauce, red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers. And did I mention the amazing pita bread?? Sammy's lunch platter with lamb-- flavor-packed and moist lamb that just tastes high quality. Really appreciated the olive oil over the feta cheese, and the whole platter was such a joy to eat especially with the pita bread that came with it on the side.Inside is only standing room to order. But there's a small yet nice area right outside to eat there if you want to eat here before you go.Also..... this place doesn't just have good food, but it also has an amazing story!! We met Jahad, the owner of this place, who is half Palestinian and half Peruvian. So cool to hear the story of how he wanted to bring his food out here and honor his parents, who started off this place with their catering company Blue Dish (that's why lots of their menu items are called "blue dish special sauce" in honor of his parents)."
"I moved to West Oakland a few months ago and was surprised to find that there was only one cafe close by, but they always sold out of their food. Nunu's just opened two weeks ago and I tried them for the first time. I got a latte and an almond croissant, both were great. They have a bunch of options on their menu like pizza, sandwiches and an ube cheesecake which I'd like to try another time. Cute outdoor seating area and you can also take your drink/food and have them in the Mandela parkway island."
"New Indian Grocery and Cafe along Jackson thru Hayward to Highway 92/880. This new place took over Crossroads International Market which has since re-located to Castro Valley.Grocery has a variety of spices, grocery, frozen items, small produce with a cafe. I pass this area often so decided to try some food from their cafe...food is from their steam table but biryani is made to order. Ordered the following: :: Samosa - fried pastry with spiced potato and peas - pastry was a little thinner than I've had and not quite as crispy - still delicious 3.5:5 :: Vegetable Biryani - cauliflower, potato, carrots, paneer - flavorful and fragrant. Slightly different taste than I'm familiar with (couldn't pinpoint) but it's as tasty - 4/5 :: Curry Chicken from the steam table - mixture of white and dark meat - delicious 4/5 Definitely glad I tried as I love Indian food and have tried many in Berkeley/Hayward/Fremont. I was hoping to get some lamb/goat biryani but it was mentioned they didn't have any that day. The lady that assisted me was friendly, helpful and answered questions. With so many interesting items I mentioned she should offfer cooking demos for the non-natives. if I knew how to use the ingredients I'd definitely shop there. Especially, to make some of my fave Indian desserts: carrot halwa and gulab jamun :)Private lot available for parking"
