Steve D. "King Kong BBQ Restaurant serves up authentic Chinese foods that are delicious and in good portions. Strong points include: good food, good portions, and they do their own deliveries. I can't find anything negative to say about my experience. On a Saturday, I ordered Wor Won Ton Soup, Fried Prawns, and Mu Shu Pork. Good Food, Grade (5/5). I'm 3rd Generation ABC, and this food is the way traditional chinese food is supposed to taste! The Wor Won Soup was excellent with plump dumplings, bok choy, bbq pork strips and tender chicken. The Fried Prawns were plump and moist. The Mu Shu Pork was a generous serving, seasoned well and not salty. Another key point is the prices are reasonable. The Wor Won Ton Soup is under $10, and that container was packed. I scheduled this delivery thru GrubHub. Since the restaurant does it's own delivery, there's no extra delivery fees. I setup my delivery for 4pm, and it arrived early. Good food, and I will order again!"

It is perfect. I know of no other places where Breakfast is always the same. In a word,-exceptional. The Ribs are exceptional as well. A good friend bought this by today knowing that I love Oakland Barbeque all the way back to the days of Flints on Shattuck. The links take me back to Flints - they have coarsely ground meat and are cook just to this side of perfection. I also had the ribs which were meat-off-the bone good and with the perfect touch of smoke. The beans and potato salad were tasty sides as well. My only suggestion is to ask for the sauce of the side since it is a touch on the sweet side. That said, the bread slice was handy to swipe up the last bit of sauce, though. I am grateful to my friend for introducing me to Rue Rue's and I'll be there in person next week."

When I came here with her, I enjoyed a hot stone bibimbap. So when a match from Coffee Meets Bagel and I were planning a date, and he asked to treat me out to dinner, I sent him options from Yelp, and he chose this one. Driving here is pretty easy despite being right by Bart and the train tracks. There's a fair amount of parking in the back. The restaurant itself is very spacious with plenty of seats. Date went so well, we just dove into conversation once we got seated, and it wasn't until a waitress came to ask us if we were ready to order that we realized we hadn't ordered anything yet. We went for standard KBBQ fare, including bulgogi. Our waitress was amazing with helping us cutting our meat, replacing the grill, and being so attentive. We enjoyed our dinner date so much, we ended up being the last ones in the restaurant, and got kicked out at closing time. That was when we decided to go get dessert...and got kicked out at closing time too, LOL! Thanks Brother's BBQ for being a great first-date dinner spot!"

I ordered way too much food, their family meal for 10 would have been more than enough, but we had 5 kids and a non meat eater. I got the bbq chicken, bbq beef and Katsu chicken with a side of white rice and mac salad. I ordered Spam musubi, a side of short ribs and a side of shrimp. The shrimp was actually a meal and came with rice and more Mac salad. Highly recommend the bbq chicken and steak, both had really good marinades and flavor. The Katsu was a hit amongst the kids. The dipping sauce that came with it left us all wanting more. My mom forgot to pack it with the leftovers, I was so bummed. I want to go back and try their other items, they have a whole Chinese menu too."

The parking siutation here is horrible especially during peak eating times. But it's a spacious restaurant. Just be forewarned, you will smell like food. M E N UMenu hasn't changed in the years but of course the prices have. Darn inflation. The food quality seems to go up and down. Compared to the last time we had seafood pancake here, it seems like we're back on the up.I don't think you can go wrong here, everything is really good. The ban chan also the most diverse I've seen though I wish they had jap chae as a ban chan. The dumpling tofu soup was delicious especially on a cold day. Definitely cleans up your sinuses. The spicy pork was the right amount of spicy and I did appreciate that the pieces were minced as I have issues chewing these days. The LA Galbi was fine. Steve D. "Porky's BBQ Sandwiches is a cloud/shared kitchen inside The Oakland Food Hall, aka "Jingletown Eats" in East Oakland. I ordered two of their sandwiches, and had them delivered by Grubhub/Seamless on a Friday evening. I ordered: The Smoked Hotlink Slider and Pulled Pork Slider. You get 2 sandwiches per order. When I opened the takeout box everything looked fine. But with closer inspection, I noticed that the sandwich fillings were a little tossed around. So I took each slider out of the box and had to re-assemble them. The Smoked Hotlink Slider (4/5): I liked this sandwich the best. It's just half a hotlink (split), pickles, BBQ sauce and coleslaw on a brioche bun. It's simple, but it tastes good and it's easy to eat. ($6.99 for 2).The Pulled Pork Slider (3/5): This sandwich got tossed around during delivery. There wasn't much coleslaw, and the meat was dry and hard to chew. Otherwise, it had a nice flavor and the bun was soft. ($7.99 for 2).Service and Speed (5/5): My order was prepared quickly and ready to go before the expected time. So that was excellent, no delays on a Friday night. So, overall it's a 4-star experience. I probably won't order the Pulled Pork Slider again. I like trying out new cloud kitchens at jingletown Eats, mainly because everything is a brand new experience. FYI: Cloud Kitchens have no diningroom. Everything is pickup or delivery. Sales are done thru apps or on a website. It's not a restaurant, it's food prep facility with multiple kitchens."

It doesn't seem like much from the outside and that's ok since we are very into "mom and pop" places. As we walked in and waited to be seated, a friendly server greeted us and walked us right in. Immediately brought in the menu with water. I guess we looked like we've been there before because the server asked if we were ready to order just as she returned with the nine servings of "banchan" (side dishes in Korean). It was perfect for us since we were already hungry and it was easy to choose from the items on the menu. We started off with the ribeye, spicy chicken and boneless barbecue ribs. Ufff! The chicken and ribs were delicious! The ribeye... could have been better. It was not as tender as I expected or as tender as the chicken and ribs. The portions are considerable and my wife and I were getting full. We ordered two more items, the pork belly (flavorful) and the shrimp (tender and just the right amount of salt (of course it was... we seasoned it.) I don't know if it was the owner but she came towards the end and was surprised that we didn't want to order more. lol. What can I say, we're not heavy eaters. Though, we can appreciate great food at a reasonable price and fast friendly service. Would we come back?? Definitely! For another date night and with the kids too. PS. This was a fantastic surprise because I went by her place moons ago and found the door ajar and no signs of even a morsel. The place was so empty I thought we'd never have the chance to eat the best BBQ (since Flints) in Oakland again. When I pulled the door to I figured it would be my final connection, but thankfully Ms. Genny is feeling better and is dedicated to her business (during a pandemic no less). Quite honestly I have been avoiding interactions during the twin-demic to a near pathological level (lol), but under these circumstances I had to make an exception. As soon as she opened (she's closed on Wednesdays) I called in an order of ribs and links with sides of potato salad and macaroni and cheese. We had plenty of everything and I felt like it was the best exception to my rule. Here's what you need to know:--Call ahead to check the menu and place your order. --For social distancing wear your mask and be prepared to stand at the front door to pay and pick up. --Bring cash only, I'm sure smaller bills would be appreciated. --Things are well wrapped but consider bringing your own container to carry your BBQ home. --There's nowhere to sit, all of the food is to go. --Provide your own utensils and napkins --Tip, tip, tip (I never suggest this, but this is a special time and set of circumstances)"

That sauce is still my all time favorite - perfect smoky spicy slightly sweet balance. Counter service was super friendly and efficient, and no line on a Monday afternoon. Still a great value for the excellence of the cook, the high quality and quantity of meat. Right amount of bark, meat still juicy. There had to be multiple orders since they don't allow more selections to come to your table at a time. Seated at table D-1 on a Sunday night (last night), we encountered a disinterested server who seemed indifferent to our needs. He was basically never checking his ipad at all.My soup was boiling away as I waited for veggies, and the tom yum refill was disappointingly flavorless. It's not the kind of place I'd usually think to stop and dine, especially since it's inside a store--kind of like a liquor store or marketplace. But I love BBQ, and their big sign with pictures of their dishes caught my eye, plus the reviews looked solid, so I decided to give it a try. When you walk in, you're basically walking into a store, and you place your food order at the same counter where people buy their groceries. There's a small pickup window by the entrance for your food. The setup is pretty casual, so expect some foot traffic and a bit of crowding, especially near the door. There's no real waiting area, so I just stood by the window or waited in my car.I ordered the catfish and fries, along with some fried chicken. I didn't get any BBQ this time, so I can't speak to that. The fried chicken was already prepared--it wasn't fried fresh to order. It was decent, but not the kind of chicken that would make me rush back for more. The catfish was flavorful, a little greasy, but that's typical for soul food. It wasn't too salty, so that was a plus.I can't say this is a place I'd add to my regular rotation based on the fried chicken and catfish, but I might stop by again to try the BBQ since the reviews are so good.
