Stephen D. "I've been going to Gracie's since they opened. Always thought they did a great job and served up delicious BBQ. It's been quite a while since I've eaten there. Was in the neighborhood today and thought that some good BBQ would be awesome. So, I motored over to Gracie's and was warmly greeted by the nice lady running the front of house. She took my order of a combo chicken and rib meal with cornbread and two sides. I got potato salad and coleslaw.I sat down and a few minutes later the nice lady brought my BBQ to me. That was super fast. Zoomed home with the sweet aroma of BBQ in the truck and it took will power to keep from gnawing on a rib. But I waited.Got home and fixed myself a plate, one rib, a chicken thigh and the sides. Took one bite out of the rib and it was dry as can be. Hmmm that's not like the Gracie's of old.Took a bite of chicken thigh and it was the same way. Dry. So dry I had to drink a lot of water to wash it down. Hmmmm. Sides were decent, but nothing to write home about. Didn't eat the cornbread because of probable wheat flour to which I'm allergic to. I get the feeling my BBQ had been sitting out for a long time or maybe it was smoked too long.Sigh. I really was looking forward to a good mess of 'Q."

SY C. "TL;DR: friendly spot with comforting Korean food but prices were high for where it isMom's tofu house has had a recent facelift, I noticed that they were closed for a bit and have since reopened with a brand new, bright and airy interior. Service is friendly and you can call for service whenever you need it with the handy button on the table. The menu is pretty extensive, with most of the classics you can imagine. From the signs on the wall, they make their own tofu for the restaurant but I was interested in the pork soup since you don't see it at too many places.Pork soup: this was served with purple rice on the side, as well as chives, chilli paste and salt. The soup was pretty flavorful already so I didn't really need the salt, and warm and comforting and quite rich. I was surprised that the meat in there was pork belly, I thought it might be a different, more meaty cut like shoulder. Nevertheless, this was yummy.Spicy pork stone pot: everyone loves a good stone pot with the crispy rice! They had oiled this pot well so the crispy rice came off easy and was delicious with all the crunchy vegetables and spicy pork. The banchan provided was ok - they had fishcake, soy sauce onions, bean sprouts, some green vegetable, and 2 kinds of kimchi (Napa and radish).Honestly the food was pretty good and I would go back if the prices were lower. But for at least $20 per entree, I found the spot quite pricy especially since there are many more affordable options in the area."

Yogi R. "I am giving this 5 stars for a variety of reasons. We saw the rating on Google reviews after searching for Mongolian food. We went there around 6pm on a Friday evening and noticed the place was quite empty. We walked around the complex to see what else there was but ended up coming back to Gobi to give it a try. You are not going to get an elegant ambience when you come here. But what you get is something that is not found in most places. The place seems to be run by a wife and husband and possibly other family members. For $19, you get two bowls which you can then go and stack as much of the meats (thing slices of lamb, chicken, beef, or pork, shrimp, and a few other items), a wide assortment of veggies to choose from, tofu, and then several sauces that you add to the bowls for flavor. There are recipes on the wall to let you know what flavors and spice levels you want to try. Once you get the bowls packed and filled, stack the noodles on top as high as you want to and take it to the counter. The husband was the cook who takes the bowls and then cooks it on the circular griddle walking in circles and cooking the food. Once done in just a few minutes, he slides everything onto your dinner plate. Add a few more spices to your liking and take it to the table to start eating. The portion size you get for $19 is incredible. We could hardly make a dent in it so we took it home and going to enjoy it once again. The value in this economy is unfounded. The flavor is what you want to make it (my suggestion is to add a good amount of spicy oil to the bowl and several scoops of the soy, and garlic. Cooked white rice is included as well which you can self serve from the cooker along with fried wonton chips. Soda will cost you $2.50 for all you can drink and for an extra .50, you can get soft serve ice cream. For $3 more, you can get one more bowl of food to make. We could not believe that not many people were here however, this is a gem in the rough. The family is so nice and humble. I support family owned restaurants and definitely recommend coming here and supporting them too. This is truly the value play of the bay area. Oh no sharing so each person will have to spend $19. Remember this is not a fancy place to dine but the place is clean and the food quality and value and of course the fact that it is family owned makes this worth it. We will be back for sure!"

It's located inside of Lake Chabot Public Market to the right of the entrance. They sell branded merch that we were so tempted to buy! They also have a little grocery store section which is perfect if you needed to grab a few things. We ordered the kalbi burrito and bulgogi cheesesteak. She warned us of the wait time before we ordered, which we appreciated. She quoted us 20-25 minutes but it wasn't too long at all! We got our food in about 15 minutes but I appreciated their transparency. Had to take a bite of the French fries first - they tasted like McDonald's! My kalbi burrito was huge, and so good. The ingredients could be spread out a little better, I was eating just plain rice for the first 3 bites. And all of the kimchi was in the very last few bites on the other end. But otherwise the meat was tender, although could've been more of it! I also would've enjoyed some kind of spicy creamy sauce, maybe like a gochujang mayo. The size was plenty and I was able to take home half to eat for another meal. The burrito was closer to a 4 star but my review is going to be a 5 because of my husband's bulgogi cheesesteak. It was also very good size which is good since both were $15 each without any side or drink. The meat was so tender and there was a nice kick to the flavor. The tomato and lettuce were unnecessary since those aren't on cheesesteaks normally but I could eat those peppers all day. They were sweet and not overly spicy. I hope they read this review and tell me what kind of peppers those were because I need them in my everyday meals at home!Really great experience here - I'll definitely remember that cheesesteak!"

Sherman T. "Skewers of seasoned meat and vegetables cooked fresh and served to you - just click (responsibly) to order from your phone and fill up your belly! This Chinese establishment serves up some deliciously seasoned protein options skewered and roasted fresh before they're brought to your table. Most of the seasoning had chili on it so almost everything has a nice kick to it. If you can't handle spice, you may want to keep the water handy (they give a pitcher for each table) or rinse it off before consumption. I personally enjoy the flavors and couldn't get enough of it! The seasoning is about the same for everything so you're just really deciding on the type of protein/textures you're looking to explore. This place gets packed really soon after opening and stays pretty busy throughout the night so I recommend coming early or prepare to wait. There isn't a whole lot of room inside nor are there too many big tables (they may be able to slide some side to side) so consider coming with small to medium sized parties. There is a waitlist you can join but just come a few minutes before opening and you'll be fine. They have a parking lot shared with other shops but it's a pretty quiet mall so there is no issue with getting a spot.As you walk in, you'll be illuminated by decorative lighting and wooden fixtures along the wall and ceiling. It gives off a traditional feel and gets you in the mood for some good old fashioned BBQ. Do be mindful of the rugs, however, as I almost tripped a few times walking past the bits of carpet that was raised up.Everything is ordered through the online menu available via the QR code at the table. If it's your first time here, consider signing up to their free membership program as you can earn cash back to be used when you checkout. Each person at your table can use the QR code to open the menu and add items for the table. When it is time to check out, one person can request to pay and the server will come to process your payment. They have a variety of different options on their menu, including meat, seafood, and vegetables. Among their meat options, they have lamb, chicken and beef. A lot of the succulent meat options are tenderloin pieces, but my personal favorite were the alternative cuts of meat, including tripe, gizzard, and hearts. They also have fish, shrimp, tofu and stinky tofu on skewers. In addition, they also have premade plates of mixed vegetables (it's refreshing) and sliced beef (it's a cold cut and delicious). If you're looking for some carbs, they do also have noodles and rice. After placing an order, it's sent to the kitchen to start cooking up your food fresh. As you wait, you can order more and enjoy some drinks as you chat it up with your party. Just be careful - the costs can creep up but fortunately, the tab is tracked well in the online ordering browser page. When the food is ready, they'll hand deliver the skewers to you and place it in your warming plate. They do rattle off the orders as they place them down but you can always ask to clarify if you're unsure.Unfortunately, they don't have much selection when it comes to desserts but the main event is the BBQ, so it was no big deal. But because the mall is pretty barren, we had to travel down a few blocks to get to some meaningful sweets to cap off the meal.Furthermore, they have a single bathroom stall that does make it challenging for families taking turns to use it. It's pretty spacious and relatively clean.Overall, Dynasty BBQ will have your mouth tingling with their house combination of spices and you'll have a great time trying their different meat options - all with just a few taps with your fingertips. For the lazy who want to just dig in, this is the place for you as they cook all their food before they serve it to you and the come out piping hot out of the kitchen just minutes after you place your order. The place was so empty I thought we'd never have the chance to eat the best BBQ (since Flints) in Oakland again. When I pulled the door to I figured it would be my final connection, but thankfully Ms. Genny is feeling better and is dedicated to her business (during a pandemic no less). Quite honestly I have been avoiding interactions during the twin-demic to a near pathological level (lol), but under these circumstances I had to make an exception. As soon as she opened (she's closed on Wednesdays) I called in an order of ribs and links with sides of potato salad and macaroni and cheese. We had plenty of everything and I felt like it was the best exception to my rule. The owner is courteous and although he isn't a man of many words, he may chat up a few words. Takeout packaging is sturdy and I had no issues getting the food home. The calamari is an absolute home run!! The pieces of squid is cut thick enough where you aren't crunching down on chips and there is a thin layer of crisp surrounding each tender piece. This is THE SPOT to order from when my calamari obsessed 4 year old is craving. The sweet and sour sauce is good, so good my daughter attempted to sip the container. FYI: If you are into something full of crunch, Kim Tar isn't the spot for you when it comes to this item. The seafood chow fun was okay. Not terrible but not something I'd request again. Upon opening up the container, I immediately knew the order was wrong. Not because of the restaurant but because we [the patrons] did not clarify one additional bit of detail. Ordering chow fun here will result in a plate of stir fry rice noodles and wet gravy smothered on top. If you prefer a dry stir fry like myself, make sure to let the staff know at the time of ordering. Flavors were a bit bland and soy sauce was needed but it was absolutely doable. 4/5 rating. But I love BBQ, and their big sign with pictures of their dishes caught my eye, plus the reviews looked solid, so I decided to give it a try. When you walk in, you're basically walking into a store, and you place your food order at the same counter where people buy their groceries. There's a small pickup window by the entrance for your food. The setup is pretty casual, so expect some foot traffic and a bit of crowding, especially near the door. There's no real waiting area, so I just stood by the window or waited in my car.I ordered the catfish and fries, along with some fried chicken. I didn't get any BBQ this time, so I can't speak to that. The fried chicken was already prepared--it wasn't fried fresh to order. It was decent, but not the kind of chicken that would make me rush back for more. The catfish was flavorful, a little greasy, but that's typical for soul food. It wasn't too salty, so that was a plus.I can't say this is a place I'd add to my regular rotation based on the fried chicken and catfish, but I might stop by again to try the BBQ since the reviews are so good. Overall, it's not a bad option if you're in the area and want to give it a go."
