Bottleneck is an apt name for this corner liquor/convenience store. few striped lines in front. park at ur risk. u can easily back into some car or someone can sideswipe u. evenings are the worst.cramp spaces within. mask available for $4. otherwise no admittance. haphazard supply of craft beers, cold brews. not all priced. some are sky highbrew: monaco tequila lime crush (2.99) 355ml, 9%-nasty, oversweet mix of tequila, artificial flavors and coloring.

I love this store. It's like homecoming to find all the comforts my North Oakland neighborhood nestled in the foothills. Nice selection of candies and snacks you would normally find the the better ghetto liquor stores. Pickle-in-Pouch, Jovy Revolcadtas with chili watermelon, Moonpies (chocolate and banana), Flamin' Hot popcorn and chips, and outrageous spicy-sweet Paletas (Mexican Popsicles)!I did ask and they don't sell single Dixie cups or single cigarettes we know as "loosies" However a large selection of short neck spirits, including Henny. The requisite black plastic bags are 10 cents.

I was in here a few days ago and the guy at the register and another lady that where inside where not wearing masks. I asked them to please put on masks and the guy told me that he and the lady are behind the counter so they don't have to wear a mask. I told him this in not correct and he said well we are 6 feet apart. I told him it does not matter because we are inside and pointed out that he has multiple signs that say everybody must be wearing a mask. He seem to think none of this mattered... so I left and will not go back. If you want to be carful with COVID I would say stay away from this place.

My brother and I usually stop here after exiting the highway after a long drive. It's a nice little shop and they are always well-stocked, which is good since we need our beers ice cold for when we get home. Plus, they don't allow any outside loitering or soliciting, so no worries about suspicious characters waiting to ask for something. Regardless, it's better to lock your car and set the alarm. The only real problem I have with this place is the parking. There's only about 10 slots, and half of them are at a slant. Nevertheless, this place is pretty good.

If you're looking for good wine selection and food this is not the place. It's just a convenience store with junk food and basic beer and wine selection.

It's midnight and we have people over... We don't want to drive to the hood to get beer so where better than bottleneck! Shout out to the guy with the pony tail who always has what I am looking for. From butter to beer to milk. This place has saved me from driving through Oakland to get something. Hard to find parking but as clean and friendly as it comes in 94605. Thanks from the people in the Oakland Hills for saving us from a trip to the hood ;) A+ service and selection.

Kind of annoying, nothing has prices and you don't get a receipt !! You basically have to just trust the cashier! However, I do have to say.. location is perfect! I I'm just up the hill and its great to not have to drive 15 minutes to the nearest grocery store.

Bottleneck, I love you. You are the only place within a 3-mile radius that carries half and half. You even had cranberry sauce in a can on that desperate Thanksgiving last year. You are open late, when all else has long since closed. I never see people selling crack in your parking lot. Thank you, Bottleneck. You've been a lifeline.

Watch out for this place! As others here have said many of their items don't have a price tag. You spend the time to pick a wine that you know you can afford : Estancia Pinot Noir; everywhere else is priced from $9 to $11 and bring it to the counter, the woman plays the act of looking up the price on her phone and then tells you it is $25!! And she will not give you a receipt unless you ask for it! They are cheating the neighborhood and the government at the same time! They bought this place about a year ago from an owner who made this the place it is today but they will loose their customers in no time.

The best part is the convenience. They have a good variety and it is on the way home. The worst part is trying to connect on the phone. Most of the time you get a modem which is probably a fax machine.
