i've had them bookmarked for years and finally saw from their instagram stories that they were in hayward last weekend so we stopped by heritage plaza park and gave them a try! was lucky that there was no wait cuz even with only one person ahead of us, the food still took maybe 20 min to come out. the meal overall was satisfying, but the meat was a little dry so nothing to rave about. the thing i did love were the maduros. those i would definitely come back for and maybe try new entrees next time. i got the carne frita special and my husband tried the empanada which he liked.

Holy delicious treats Batman!!!!!! This place is bomb. The empanadias are delicious the tostones are amazing and OMFG they had Alcapurrias. IYKYK listen up east bay you need to track this food truck down and get yourself some while they have them and they run out fast. Alcapurrias are as Puerto Rican as you get and it's so worth the time to get one. The prices are great and you won't leave wanting. In past visits I've had chicharonnes as well and the whole menu is fire. I can't recommend this place enough. I'm so lucky they park minutes from my place so I can eat there often. Get down here now. WEPA!!!!!!!!!!

The portions are huge and the food is so good! I live in Hayes Valley and love that they now stop here, because I'll be a regular customer. Danny is so kind and they work really fast to get your order out.

Got the Clemente plate when they were in Hayward. The chicken, tostones were good but the rice was not up to par, it seemed like it was from the day before nor did it taste like it had any sofrito. Based on the rice, unfortunately, I will not be going back. Matter of fact made my own arroz con gandules after and got what I expected.

I love to support other boriqua's all over the country, however, unfortunately I cannot write a positive review. I traveled to the Bay Area to spend time with a friend. Bragged about how tasty our food is. We went 30 mins out of her way to get plates. I spent $64 bucks on 3 plates. Neither me, my friend or her mom enjoyed the food. Rice was hard and under cooked. Pastelios were underwhelming, beans were way too salty and the plantanos were burnt and super small. What was more embarrassing for me was that my friend's mom was complaining. Her words were "This isn't Puerto Rican food". Please please do better. There are very few places in both SoCal and NoCal that serve our food. We cannot have people thinking we don't cook well.

Chef Darren with Boriqua Kitchen is serving up an awesome menu of Puerto Rican cuisine. This has got to be my favorite PR food in the Bay. You can tell when a chef has "got it" and Darren most def does. There's some magic in his hands that gives every plate that I've had there an above-average taste. I was heading to Hayward for a soccer match but had to swing by Alameda first to pick up some food. Here I ordered the Roberto Clemente and the Boriqua Wings. They were flavor packed and each dish was served with sides. I devoured the Roberto Clemente before we left the lot and saved the wings for later. I've had some awesome PR in The Bronx and this is as close to those flavors in the Bay Area. Give this truck a shot for a real taste of PR food!

Bought from the truck in Vallejo. Some of the best Puerto Rican food I have had in a long time. Way way better than Sol Food in the North Bay and maybe as good Parada 22 in the City. If you got a complaint about a small business go to them first and give them an opportunity to make it right. Wepa

It's incredible. The chicken was succulent yet crispy, piled so high it looked like two servings. They were my first time really digging into PR cuisine in the restaurant/food truck scene, and it was so good I wanted to try out more places locally. No matter where I went, Boriqua Kitchen has remained the Number 1 spot for me. There's just something about their #21 (you'll see it on the menu). I don't use social media much. Don't like it. So when a food truck is so good I install Instagram just to be able to follow them and keep track of where they're gonna be next... that's literally never happened before!Their maduros are big chunky pieces, sweet and savory, soft and chewy, and blew my freakin' mind when I paired it with their BK Sauce. I wait about 10 minutes for my order, and it comes out so heavy with food I'd be nervous putting it in a paper grocery bag. I heard they're gonna have merch soon, and believe me I'll be repping their name in the streets once I get the chance!Best 20 bucks I ever spent on a food truck outing. Quality, portions, speed, at that price? There are worse PR places that cost more per plate. You won't find anything else like these guys.

I ordered the pork pasteles. They were Delicious!! My 90 yo mother from PR was impressed by the authentic recipe, flavors and texture. The banana leaf reminded her of the old traditional way her grandma made her's and gave it that over the top authentic flavor. The size of one can satisfy the appetite of a hungry man. The masa was soft and smooth.
