Bonito Poke

Bonito Poke was a pleasantly surprising stopover we made on our way to Napa. It's been bookmarked for a while now, but since they're closed on Mondays, it didn't really coincide with our schedules. So glad we were able to come on a Tuesday to finally try it out. Chef Steven was super welcoming and knowledgeable of all the dishes. Our salads came out first and they were tasty and dressed perfectly. All of the plating was impressive as well. We ordered:Crunchy Garlic Chicken - This was my favorite thing we ordered!Loco Moco - Really hearty. The mushroom gravy was *chef's kiss*Cali Poke - I chose salmon as my protein. I forget where the chef said it was from, but the fish tasted really fresh. Like another reviewer mentioned, I do wish it was more spicy. But my fault for not asking for the sauce. Cocktails:Tropical Zen - This was sooo good! A must try if you love matcha and pandan.Strawberry Hawaiian Fizz - A fruity and tropical accompaniment if that's more your vibe.If you're craving Hawaiian food elevated with quality ingredients and preparation check out Bonito Poke. The dine-in experience was outstanding. There were many people ordering to-go too if that's a more fitting option. They also have a food truck in the financial district of SF, but I believe it's limited to poke.I would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!

Bonito Poke was DELICIOUS! Our server was amazing and so professional; was giving owner vibes. I was amazed to see the change inside after having seen it as krave, they REALLY made it so gorgeous inside! I loved that the kitchen was right there so we could see them preparing the food. The fresh flowers on the table were so gorgeous!We had the nachos with won ton chips as opposed to the menu tortilla chips, they were phenomenal!! Also the bonito poke with rice, loved that spicy tuna for both dishes!!Highly recommend this spot if you've got $60 for two lunch platters. Worth the price!!

I can't remember the last time I've given any restaurant 5 stars but I gotta say Bonito Poke absolutely deserves it. First impression the place is nicely set. Table cloth nice white and clean. Table mats and decorations are on point. The air feels clean and they have an almost open kitchen and you can tell it's clean. First thought when I looked at the menu was these prices are looking like SF lol. I got the Loco Moco and the Poke Nachos. The Loco Moco was a good portion one patty with the mushroom gravy. It's was really good. The meat was well flavored and tasted really beefy. The gravy went well with the rice and the yolk ran a little bit with the rest in that nice egg yolk consistency. I was thinking what's stopping me from going to L&L or Ono for a mini for like 8 bucks. Then I ate this loco Moco and I understood why. It's super different and way better tasting than your loco Moco from most places. So about to poke nachos right. Initial thought was "I've never tasted a poke like this before." It was a new flavor and it was creamy like the mayo kind but it was also nutty. The tuna was a super fresh and with the nachos it created a nice balance of flavors. I mean I can't quite describe it but it was great.You know when you wanna do something and halfway through you're over it? Lol I'm gonna wrap it up. So this place is a 5/5. They executed their dishes so well you can tell that the place cares about the quality of food and the flavors that they put together isn't something replicated amongst similar restaurants. The cooks and chefs are in uniform, and customer service is on point, warm and welcoming. So I totally take back that SF pricing. Cause what I got was totally worth it. Definitely coming back, American Canyon definitely got a W with this one.

My wife and I were visiting for the weekend and we saw this highly rated poke place on Yelp, so we decided to come give it a try. When we entered the restaurant, the staff was very nice and patient as we were deciding on what to order. They were very willing to answer any questions that we had. My wife ordered the Loco Moco, which came with mixed greens and a Mac salad, and I ordered the traditional poke with rice and spicy tuna. We were used to eating poke from plastic or paper take out containers, so when our dish came out on a glass plate, we were a little surprised. It was like a mini fine dining for poke!My wife enjoyed her loco moco and the server brought out an extra container of gravy. I ended up using half of that gravy to pour over the white rice and it was delicious! I also enjoyed my traditional poke and with spicy tuna. Usually, I see spicy tuna ground up, but the spicy tuna for this dish was cut up into cubes with jalapenos on top. This was a nice change and the dish was tasty.Overall, I would recommend coming to try the food here. There is a lot of variety and you can't go wrong!

Presentation was good via delivery Door Dash. However, the Cali Poke lacked flavor. It needed some spicy kick. Quite disappointing IMO. Most likely will not try again.

I'm impressed with what they've done with the space that used to be the Crave restaurant. It's very aesthetically pleasing. When you dine in, the service is pretty good! They're attentive and bring things quickly.I like the Thai iced tea, it's the right amount of sweet. I'm pretty picky when it comes to poke and the quality of their fish is good! My favorite though is their garlic chicken! Definitely give this place a try!

I'm raving about this place because it was my first time there! I had someone talk to me about the history of the restaurant and their SF food truck (and what a great boss they have) and they even took the time to recommend something without being annoyed by me asking. Smiles all around! Deliciousness at its finest. Presentation was clean AF!I asked for the Spicy Cali Poke Bowl to go. Def going back. See you soon.

From the minute I saw the pictures I knew I wanted to try it. I called and was impressed they actually heard my name Genesis and not Jenifer. So that was already a plus. The guy who took my order was super friendly. When I got there and walked in everything looked clean and everyone seemed to enjoy being there. The order was ready and when I asked a few questions about the nutrition and contents of the meal they all tried to be as helpful as they could with serving sizes. Not sure if this would be possible, but maybe having serving sizes or nutrition info on the meals would be cool. When I opened my bowl it looked so good and tasted even better. I will for sure be coming back to try more food

I was at the dentist in the plaza when I stumbled across this newer place. It used to be another restraunt that sold sisig fries which I was looking forward to originally. I wasn't really in the mood for poke but it was there and also realized they had other plates as well so I decided to give them a try.I ordered a bonito poke bowl and a bbq chicken plate. The poke bowl was a 3.5/5. I wish it had more greens and sauce in it and I wasn't a fan of the crunchy fried onions on top. They also only had tuna available the day I went, which was fine, but I originally wanted salmon. I do feel like it taste pretty fresh and would like to try a different bowl next time. I also ordered the Hawaiian bbq chicken plate and that was a 4.5/5. It was really good. It was cooked well and had alot of flavor to it. It came with rice, salad and mac salad. I do wish they gave more Mac salad because it was literally like three small bites worth lol. The staff was very friendly and the place seemed very clean and cozy. I'd definitely give them another try and order a different poke bowl for next time.

We decided to give this place a try before the gym down the street and... WOW the food was addicting. Amazing. The service was great, they're so kind & go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. The Hawaiian BBQ Chicken is juicy and brown sugar sweet and comes with mac salad/salad greens. My bf said the poke was melt-in-your mouth good & the wonton chips were seasoned (which usually isn't at other places).It's a nice place to bring family and friends for a yummy meal. Will be coming back.. right now actually!
