Unfortunately, Blue Ginko used to our favorite. The Staff are still FABULOUS...However, our dozen or so visits have been less than good. The rolls, while getting smaller, are also becoming more expensive. Our rolls the other night were like hand rolls. The partial owner, Phillip, was behind the sushi bar. On the rare occasions that happens, the sushi is smaller, less fresh, and overall, disappointing. The cheap to go chopsticks that splinter with an over $20 roll? Really?Headed to Mikuni at Veranda, or Sakura in Orinda. Consistently better fish, value, and experience. It pains me to write this.

I like their spider roll! It's crunchy with a hit of sweet. The location is nice. I like the outdoor seating areas. The food is pricey but it's worth it

Not a bad option for sushi in Lafayette. This restaurant is run by the same people behind Sasa in Walnut Creek. This is one of your best options around Lafayette and we came on Friday at 5:30 and it was already busy. Service was friendly and the fish was decently fresh: can't expect stuff flown from Toyosu every day. Would come back again as a more casual option to Hanazen.

The cutest sushi spot hidden in Lafayette. I have never had poke with honey before and their Ahi Poke was amazing. It says it's served with a spicy sauce but it's very mild/the honey balances it out. The Tita roll was phenomenal!! It's sad to see the other reviews of Blue Gingko. It's definitely a smaller place so service may not be 100% 5-star but the staff is really nice and hustling to serve you. They also have one of the best wine lists I've seen compared to other sushi restaurants.

Great place for sushi and Japanese appetizers. Full bar. Amazing outdoor seating perfect for an sunny afternoon. The wine selection is excellent as well. Service was friend and not rushed. The ducks swimming in the pond adds to the experience.

Japanese food was mediocre. Some of the sushi rolls came out super small. The food was just alright. If you are hungry and dont mind mediocre Japanese food, this is your spot.

20 dollar caterpillar roll without unagi. The caterpillar roll is not on the menu, I couldn't find the roll my toddler want to eat and I asked the one with salmon that he might whether or not it's raw or cooked. The waitress told me it's raw but dragon roll that is not on menu is equivalent but with cooked salmon. After I heard that they also have rolls that not on menu, I asked if they have caterpillar roll which my toddler craves the most. The waitress told me yes, so I ordered it. The wait was not too long. But I was quite disappointed after opening the box. Who in the world don't put unagi in the caterpillar roll? I called them to make sure they have me the right thing. And the lady said their caterpillar roll don't have unagi... come on do a better job to over communicate and tell people they can add on unagi at the first place.

Had lunch here and things were semi-crowded (restaurant was about 60% full). Tables were clean and the ambiance was calm/quiet. Would be a great place for a casual sushi date. Service was excellent and attentive. My waitress was the only server working there, and she did a great job keeping my water glass full and making sure I was satisfied with my meal. The food was alright for the price. I ordered the Philly and Lafayette rolls. They came out promptly and as described in the menu. Even though each roll only came with 6 pieces, they were very thick (about 2x as thick as the ones you see in grocery stores). The bites are well-proportioned and tasty. I did spontaneously order some inari (not pictured unfortunately), and it was just okay. $5 for two pieces felt kind of like highway robbery, but for a place that has to pay Lafayette rent, I'm not going to condemn them for it.

The fish is fresh but it taste mid. I wouldn't recommend this place. If you've had amazing sushi in your life, don't come here. If you've only had eh sushi and eh poke your entire life then you'll probably be satisfied with this place.
