Blooms Saloon

I like this place soooo much! Mellow neighborhood location, sports on TV, the staff is super nice, prices are fair + it's a very welcoming bar. I'll probably make this one of my regular spots, especially for playoff games or just to relax and enjoy the sunny Potrero weather in the afternoon!

If I lived closer, this would be my Cheers!I love and have missed a good dive bar in the city. You'll find here: locals, people who probably walked over from their houses , wood paneling, a "cash only" sign and drinks under $20. I'll definitely be back.

Such a good local bar to grab a beer. Lots of regulars here with some outdoor seating in the front and back. However, the back patio was closed but on the chance it opens up there is a great view of the city! There's also a pool table and a juke box if you just wanna chill inside. Great place in Potrero hill!

Excellent local bar. Fun room and great drinks. Barbi the owner is a San Francisco favorite- always a pleasure and her bars are fun and friendly places!

This bar has a lot of character, hard to label but I'd say it's a mix of nicer crowd and locals. Good beer selection and has full bar. Lots of TV's, pool, outdoor seating and a very underrated view. Drinks were cheap and staff is nice. Music playing the entire time, definitely best bar in the area.

The number of times I've looked something up on yelp and seen "20-somethings love this place" is many. The number of times I've looked something up on yelp (Blooms, in this instance) and seen "40-somethings think this place is cool" is substantially less. Sadly, I no longer fit in either demographic but life moves on. I might've actually been at Bloom's back in my 40's and I probably found it then about as I do now: It's a basic bar, no frills, and a bit run down looking despite the self-cancelling descriptors listed here on yelp: "divey" and "classy". To say I'm glad there's still a place for such a thing here in SF in 2021 is an understatement. An IPA plus an Irish Coffee ran $14. Despite nice views out the back and a newly minted parklet out front, you're not coming to Blooms for anything swanky . You're coming for a drink, perhaps following a Giants game (or during: they have over-bar tv's), and for that it's just perfect. Paging through the photos here on yelp I found a couple images, from 2015, that included the image of someone I just met here a few evenings ago. So, it's clear that this place has its long-term regulars but they're welcoming and friendly. Though in the thick of Potrero Hill, Blooms reminds me of a couple of favorite bars out on Irving: casual, with a neighborhood crowd, friendly, and for the majority of those imbibing, their 20's are a distant memory. Cool place.

Since my girlfriend and I never hang out in the Dogpatch / Potrero Hill area, we decided to check out one more bar before heading home. We walked over to Blooms Saloon on Wednesday, June 20th and arrived around 8pm.After having cocktails and whisky, I decided to switch it up to beer. Got a Stella Artois while my gf got a chardonnay. I believe it was a Joel Gott 2014. (Don't ask me how I know that. I honestly have no idea.) I paid for the first round, so from recollection, I think both drinks were $14. We ended up sitting down at a giant plush booth. Felt kind of like VIP status as I didn't see any other booths around. My gf ended up getting us a second round of the same drinks.Vibe here is chill. Kinda divey, but in a huge space. It was dark where we were sitting, but I believe there's big windows in the back, so lots of light in that area of the bar. I think they have a back patio, but it seemed roped off that day, so we didn't explore.The end of our time here was a little odd. When my gf came back after buying the second round, she asked me if I had any cash. When I asked why, she said the bartender seemed pissed we were ordering and paying by round instead of keeping a tab open. Maybe he was mad about the CC fees? It made us feel unwelcome, so we left after that second round.Nice bar to just chill and drink. Too bad we had that weird experience with the bartender.

It's a fine and unexceptional bar with a fine but unexceptional selection of drinks. I laud it though for being open and near chase center since Gott's closes pretty early there.

Well, look no further - watching the Giants beat the Dodgers 2 years is as sweet as their margarita mix!When you're out on the town on a Friday night looking to have some fun, look no further than Blooms. Unless you're driving by Outback Steakhouse that is. Never pass up a fried onion. NEVER.

Great bar, reasonable prices! Service is always quick. the best view of the city. go there nearly once a week, will keep doing it.
