Birrieria La Perla Tapatia is easily one of the best taquerias I've ever been to! I tried their famous quesabirria tacos, and they were absolutely packed with flavor. The meat was tender and juicy, and the crispy, cheesy tortillas were just perfect. While we were enjoying our meal, the owner came by to chat, and you could really tell how passionate he is about his food. He even surprised us by making each of us a carnitas taco at no extra charge, just because he wanted us to experience it! The carnitas were incredible--slow-cooked on a shawarma rotisserie grill, giving them a unique flavor. The freshly pressed homemade tortillas he used made a huge difference, adding that extra level of freshness and authenticity.Portion sizes were generous, the prices are good, and the quality of food is exceptional. The service was so welcoming, and it's clear they care about creating a great experience for their customers. Parking was a breeze--I found a spot right in front, no problem.I can't wait to come back and try the carne asada tacos next time! Just a heads up, they only accept cash or Zelle at the moment, so be sure to come prepared. If you love tacos, this place is a must-visit!

Wow, another great find! This place a hole in the wall along san pablo Avenue. The place certainly looked like a typical divy taqueria which means food is legit . The menu is quite simple. Burritos, tacos, quesadilla, torta, menudo and birria! It was quite popular with some people ordering takeout and there were some dine in folks too while I was there around 6pm on a Sunday. BRING CASH or unless you can Zelle them. Those are the only 2 payment options. Dining areas probably had 6-8 tables, don't expect fine dining.I ordered super burrito w Carne asada, 2 quessobirria tacos and 3 other tacos (chorizo, asada, tripa) along with rice and beans (refried) to go. I asked for the regular salsa (it was the green tomatillo kind) and the spiciest salsa (habanero!) And yes, it was very spicy! So watch out. They did not give chips and salsa though. Total was almost $37. Reasonable prices these days. The food was delicious! I especially liked the quessabirria tacos (came w consome/broth)...so delissshhhh! The rice and beans were also very good! Sign of a good taqueria. Will certainly come back again!

I've been here a couple times. I had the Birria seca plate with rice and beans and pickled carrots. Overall satisfying flavor. Birria is tricky to make when you are making it in large quantities but this place seems to have it down pretty well. I have also had the Camarones a la diabla (spicy shrimp) and they were good as well. Nice kick to it not overly spicy. I like the decor as well and the people here are friendly.

Delicious! I wish I had taken a photo. We had the caldo de birria and a veggie burrito (beans, rice, cheese, crema, avo and lechuga). Both were delicious. And the tortillas were SO good. Made fresh and just the perfect thickness. The caldo de birria came with all the cilantro, Ebola y limon on the side. We put it all on top and the caldo was super flavorful and the meat was delicious. I've had birria before that was full of chunks of fat and it can be annoying to have to pick through it. This was not like that at all. Just chunks of meat that fell apart easily with the side of a spoon. Really good. And the veggie burrito was great! It is simple, but because all the ingredients were quality and fresh it was so satisfying. A good veggie burrito really needs excellent rice and beans and a well warmed tortilla to make it. This had all that and I loved the very crisp fresh lettuce in there. It was great all around and everyone working there was incredibly friendly! And helpful. I heard they make their own chorizo in house and they have breakfast burritos. The owner also recommended their carne asadax taco with fresh avocado and rheir burrito de camarones. Even better with carne asada and shrimp together he said! Big enough for 2. Check this place out! At the moment they are cash only or Zelle so come prepared.

Wow! Just here for a work meeting and saw this place featuring quesabirria tacos across the street. They were some of the best I've ever had had. The owner told me about their carne taco, and made me one on the house while cooking my other tacos. Delicious. Too good and forgot to take a pic. Super friendly people, extremely flavorful food. Hope to have another reason to come back.

My husband and I went there last night. He had 2 tacos and I had 3 tacos. No rice or beans just 5 tacos. Excellent as always except for the price. I was charged $43. For 5 tacos no drinks. We will not be going back. Normally about $23. Not sure why we were charged an extra $20. I was too embarrassed to say anything. So close to my work but very upset about the price.

Found this local Mexican restarant on Yelp. Five of us recently tried this small mom and pop Mexican restaurant in San Pablo for the first time. Their speciality is Birrieria, although they also serve other Mexican food like street style tacos, menudo, and tortas. The owners cook the food and their daughter helps serving. They are welcoming, friendly, and eager to please their customers, The food is tasty, and well presented. Prices are very reasonable. We all enjoyed our first try at this little restaurant. Clean and nice decor.. Table seating available inside. Take out available. Plenty of on-street parking. I highly recommend this restaurant. And support locally family owned and operated businesses. We will be back soon to try more.
