We have been driving pass this establishment for awhile now and we finally had time to stop by. Knowing the area, it's not your Pleasantville, a walk in the park stroll (in other words, it's a little rough). However, if you keep to yourself and act like a "local"; you'll be fine . We ordered the Strawberries Agua Frescas (SAF) and Mangonada. The SAF was pretty good; a little different from the usual. They blended the fruits with other ingredients. It was more like a well-blended smoothie. The Mangonada was better than most that we have had. We'll come back to try other drinks on the menu. Thank you.

Richmond doesn't have a Gourmet Ghetto per se, but one serious culinary consideration is the plethora of Mexican eateries on the full stretch of 23rd Street. Portumex is one of my faves because of their menudo, and after one satisfying bowl there, I decided I could go for a mangonada, and where else to get one but at an authentic Mexican snack shop? Little did I know there would be five different kinds of mangonada plus a lot of similar desserts with fresh fruit and shaved ice saturated in sweet syrups (raspados). They also have north-of-the-border desserts like sundaes and banana splits, but I noticed the most popular items among the regulars were the "crazy snacks" (antojitos locos) where they offer items like Tostilocos, a bag of Tostitos topped off with cueritos (bugles), cucumber, jicama, lime juice, hot sauce, chamoy, chili powder, and Japanese peanuts. Of course, they offer variations using bags of Doritos, Fritos, and Hot Cheetos. So I don't speak Spanish, and there weren't English translations on the menu, so...I took my best guess on the right mangonada based on the photos on the display board. Too timid to ask either woman to describe the mangonada variations, I landed on the $9 Mangonada de Raspanieve because it looked like the ones I've had in the past. Close enough as it contained a lot of fresh mango, orange sherbet, chamoy, serpentina, and a big tamarindo stick (photo: https://bit.ly/3zVc7U1). It did strike me as a bit steep at $9, but it was quite satisfying with a nice spicy kick after all the menudo in my belly. Ay carumba!MANGONADA - 4 stars...well put together though a tad pricey AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...festive spot but mainly takeout SERVICE - 4 stars...pretty efficient and friendly enough, didn't experience the indifference mentioned in other reviews TOTAL - 4 stars...a sweet treat to try...unless you really want that loaded bag of chipsRELATED - Exploring Richmond? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/2VyCP18

Bionicos Yahualica basically sells items typically youngsters will employcouldn't decide what i wanted. trying to figure what was the best value, nothing looked appetizing nor cheap.offering: juice blends, smoothies, sandwiches, fruit bowls, ice cream, raspados, "mexican fruit sundaes"drink: #9 "diabetes"-celery, cactus, lemon, parsley, cucumber (med. 8)-no idea why it's name like this-only one that didn't have sweet juices in it, tasted just ok.-drinks pricey for cheap fruit, vegetables within.take outs:-would be 3 stars if i wasn't short changed. just happened to count my change.-english didn't seem to be a problem.

Came here on Tuesday to take my kids for some raspados since we couldn't find the people that sell raspados and esquites down here in San Pablo so I had to drive down to Richmond for some. Now that I read all the reviews I totally understand and I'm glad I was not the only one who thought that these prices are way over priced. First of all fruit is not expensive to buy especially if you buy in bulk, I felt it was a straight rip off for three small raspados, one biónico and a bag of takis. I paid close to $30 for all which wasn't even dinner food. I definitely don't see myself coming back here again since I figured I could make my own Biónico by buying all the fruit from Sprouts and picking up real organic fruit and how hard is it to make a raspado? Even Kona Ice has way better flavors and prices are way way cheaper. I definitely like supporting small businesses but not when they rip people off.

Best place in town to get a raspado or mangonada. I also enjoy the tostilocos and the great selection of fresh juices. I roll through this spot at least once a week, it's that good.

I wouldn't even give it a star but it doesn't have that option , last week we went to bionicos and we noticed something strange on our chicharrón (mold) so we stopped eating it the next day I called telling the staff what had happened and she told me it's "normal" for the cuero to have mold I asked for a refund and they refused to give it to me it is not normal to eat mold it is a health violation and very dangerous it can make you Very sick I asked to speak to a manager but she's "out of town for another week" I also asked for an email address to text who ever is in charge and they refused to give it to me please don't eat at this place I wish I would've read the reviews before buying from this place but unfortunately I'm new to this area .
