3.5/5. Rounding to 3I am not from Bengaluru but I know a good Bengaluru Masala dose (I prefer to call it a dosa but being from Chennai!) having been there plenty and had my fair share of masala dose there. The dosa was good, heavy on butter (expected), with the red chutney as described. Pretty authentic in that sense of course. But I felt something was missing to make it a top notch Bengaluru masala dose, it was above average and maybe could have been slightly thicker. The coconut chutney on the side was very good. The dosa is on the smaller side. And it was slightly cold. No other chutney/sambar (expected) but that makes me feel the Bengaluru masala dose in the Bay Area are overpriced for what comes. You finish it in a few minutes and feel like you need one more, which means spending 27-28 dollars! We also had the ghee pudi thatte idli and that was above average/not the biggest portion size. Heavy on ghee/podi. Was cold as well. There are a couple of tables outside the cloud kitchen type setup and those were occupied. They start making your dosa after you check in there after ordering ahead. Pros and cons of that, given you have to wait 15 odd minutes in person after ordering 20 minutes ahead. We had the dosa near our cars because we knew it wouldn't taste as good taking it home. Folks handling our check in were really friendly though! I may not come back given I live fairly far away and the value for money isn't the best.

This is based on a similar concept like another favorite dosa place of mine in the Bay. The dosa was pretty good. A little oily though, the butter seeped through the paper plate. And I had the coffee which could have been a tad stronger. The pricing is again similar to the other dosa place but there could be few improvements. - we went to pick our order at our given slot but were asked to wait for 15 mins. . I went back after 15 mins and turned out our order was waiting for a while. There was no text telling us to come pick it up. - we asked for takeout and got plates. There are only two tables so you either have to sit in the car or stand and eat. - it looked like people were ordering on the site while the site showed as sold out. So I wasn't clear on the process. That said the food had flavors. And maybe things will stabilize. The place is only open on Saturday as of now and has a limited menu. But I am excited with the number of Bangalore dosa places in the area.

Over hyped. I don't like pre-ordering for my dosas. And I prefer to eat them right away fresh and crisp off the tava. But the whole take away experience and getting home to soggy dosas is not good. And it's over priced too. Still wishing them all the best so they can get a bigger place with seating and serve fresh. And reduce the pricing. Also chutney was overpowering because of some sort of spice that was in it. I've never eaten a coconut chutney that overpowering flavor in it.

As a native of the Indian city of Bengaluru, visiting Bengaluru Thindi Garage made me so proud and happy! Without a doubt - this place serves the best dosae in the Bay Area. We finally have an eatery that caters to the people who crave for the true darshini-style food experience. Crispy and golden on the outside and soft on the inside, the kempu (red) chutney and the potato filling was just absolutely smashing. They also serve thatte idlis and filter coffees for the authentic experience. For my fellow vegans, you can order your dosae without ghee or butter and still experience the delicious taste. I cannot wait to be back!

No where near what we get in Bengaluru! Nevertheless better than an average place here in the US. If you just want a dosa, it's good. But if you're looking for Bengaluru style dosa, be prepared for a big let down.

Excellent CTR style dosa, but with chutney only which reminded me of Vidhyarthi Bhavan in Bengaluru. Filter coffee was awesome and looks like they get the beans from their coffee plantation near Sakleshpur. Not sure you can compare this with Suryadarshini as their take on B'lore style dosa is different than Thindi Garage.Would be great if they can have slots for Sundays too and maybe partner with delivery services like Doordarsh.

Tried for the first time and maybe expecting more when it said Bangalore style dosa.Having tried another Bangalore style dosa in Milpitas I would say this place was a bit of a let down.Tried the masala dosa and filter coffee. The dosa was ok but they don't provide sambar. The coffee was ok too but quantity was small.Hopefully they will have more options food wise in future.

Service : Outstanding. The chef absolutely understands her customers, takes time to interact, and you can see the passion for her food. She drives all the way from Sacramento to San Jose. I mistakenly dropped the batter and they replaced it at no cost. Quality and authenticity: Best dose and chutney I have had in US. No need of any stuffing, sides. When the dose is so beautiful it's like art. Hygiene: 5/5 . Even in the food, you can taste the freshness. Cannot wait to try the coffee, idly and explore other dishes on their menu. Hope their business grows .
