Bawarchi Biryanis

Recently opened just 10 days ago, Bawarchi in Sunnyvale has already started drawing curious foodies. To clarify, this location has no affiliation with the famed Bawarchi chain in India, as the staff were quick to confirm. Curious about the buzz, I decided to give it a try.FoodI was recommended the Chicken 555 as an appetizer, which earned a solid 4/5. The chicken was tender and well-cooked, but the masalas felt unfinished--wet, as if they could have benefitted from a few more minutes on the pan. Still, it's a dish that shows promise.Next up was the Chicken Tikka Biryani. This dish, unfortunately, didn't hit the mark. While the rice was perfectly cooked, it lacked the vibrant color and bold flavors that define a great biryani. To make matters worse, the chicken was undercooked, which left me a bit disappointed. On a positive note, the portions were generous--great for sharing or indulging in leftovers. I'm looking forward to trying their Dum Biryani next time for a more comprehensive taste test.Ambience and ServiceThis is a no-frills, functional restaurant, perfect for a quick bite but not necessarily for those seeking a cozy or upscale dining experience. I appreciated the thoughtful touch of charging points at every table--great for people like me who live off their devices. However, the order process could use some refinement; staff calling out names to match orders felt a bit chaotic.The cutlery and table setup left something to be desired. While mostly decent, I noticed some utensils could have been cleaner. From a brand-new establishment, I'd expect more attention to detail in this area.That said, the menu is expansive, offering a wide variety of dishes that could entice me back to explore further.Overall: Food: 4/5Ambience: 3.5/5Service: 4/5Bawarchi in Sunnyvale has potential but needs to iron out some kinks. For now, it's a promising spot with large portions and a menu worth exploring. I'll definitely return to give their Dum Biryani a try and provide an updated rating.

Found this new Indian place on yelp. So I had to try it. I went there with my 2 boys. I'm glad that the food was good and the kids liked it too. It was fairly empty, and we found seating quickly. The food was served reasonably fast as well. The place looked like a typical Indian restaurant. As it's new, it was nice and clean.Of all the dishes we ordered, the karvepaku chicken was the best. The mutton biryani was decent, though I have had better.I will have to go back to try a few other dishes as well.

Great new addition to Sunnyvale with even so many places existing there in town! Colorful and flavorful dishes served on porcelain plates, with large outdoor seating in front and good parking. The style appeared to be southern Indian to me, i.e. more citrus aroma, no cream / gravy, at least 6 different fish plates and general fewer stew style variants. Most is gluten-free and not flour battered.

Excellent food. Quantity is pretty good. Would like to come back again. Maybe will order else next time.

Great place to get a good South Indian biryani. Place was very clean and easily accessible.Tried avakai biryani and chicken 555. The spice level was just perfect. Definitely would visit again!

Messed up order and refuse to do the right thing.This was our first time ordering here. We ordered through the website for a small birthday party at our home. We ordered a family style Hyderabdi Chicken Dum Briyani, Egg Briyani , Veg Briyani and Gobi Manchurian. Instead we got Family pack of Egg Briyani ,Regular Egg Briyani and a Gobi Manchurian. They also missed the veg Briyani. It is a 20 minute drive back and their phone wasn't working either. So had to drive back and asked for. a refund,instead they said they don't offer refund but we can take another veg briyani. It doesn't make sense as kids were hungry and we had ordered pizza instead. Overall very dissappointed with their service and won't be ordering here

Biryani taste Not even close...they are spoiling the Bawarchi brand name. Paneer Biryani lacked the taste. I have had paneer biryani from many Hyderabadi places and even the Bawarchi in East bay which is all good but this one is not even close

Excellent food. Gobi Manchurian, chicken 65 must try. Friendly and fast service. Convenient location. Ample parking

I heard Bawarchi got reopened and wanted to try as we have had good experience with the previous location but this is not even close to it. I ordered veg dum Biryani and to my surprise there were hardly couple of vegetable chunks in it, there were no spices, overall it didn't taste like biryani at all. I won't be ordering again until they improve.

Tried the veg biriyani, egg curry and kadai paneer. Food is tasty but the paneer and egg curry were a too oily. Service was great and the place looked very clean. Will definitely give it another try, especially for the Biriyani.
