Bagel Street Cafe

Prices are on the slightly higher side for the portion size (not terribly generous with the cream cheese but I like a thicker cream cheese layer so personal preference). They also sell their cream cheese in bulk in a separate container in two different sizes so you can take it home. But their garlic cream cheese is delicious! I've tried many of their bagels and cream cheese flavors before. My favorite, by far, is the asiago cheese bagel with garlic cream cheese. Their breakfast sandwiches are also quite good. Eggs are microwaved, though, if that matters to you. Family owned business, and it does get busy during school hours. A bit of a wait when there's a long line, and very minimal indoor seating (2 tables ish)Asiago is my favorite, as mentioned. I've also tried their everything bagel, poppyseed, sesame, jalapeño, etc. All decent - jalapeño is probably my second favorite if I had to choose, followed by sesame.

Looks like a popular spot amongst students and locals. One of my favorite places to grab a quick breakfast. They have a vast selection of bagels and pastries. Quick service in and out.I just get a simple toasted honey butter on an everything bagel.

This is one of many small shops along Telegraph Ave. Some bagels are decently priced here; others aren't as much. Truthfully, compared to other bagel places I've seen, there's nothing to brag about here.It's not the cleanest place, and they're not the absolute friendliest to newcomers either. Truthfully, I only came here for a quick bite. I ordered their Nova Lox and Cream Cheese Bagel, which seemed very popular, on a Jalapeño and Cheese bagel (all the toppings inside with pickles added) and a soda. The bagel itself is of a good size, but not very flavorful. The total came out to about 17 dollars (more expensive than my friend who got the exact same thing as me, so I assume they charged extra for pickles, which is a first from ANYWHERE I've gone to eat ANYTHING). The bagels were done fast, so my friend and I decided to sit down and eat. At first bite, I wasn't very pleased or amazed, or really anything. I've had better Jalapeño and Cheese bagels from other places, the lox was a little off-putting (like maybe it was old ??), and the layering of the ingredients was also weird. To make the experience more negative, when my friend went to go ask for napkins, the woman who runs the place said there were napkins in the bag. Upon looking in the bag, there were only two... odd for them to be so stingy with their napkins. The experience wasn't the best, and neither was the food. Not worth the money spent, and I would only recommend coming here for something cheaper-- no drink-- perhaps a regular bagel with cream cheese is their true specialty ? I give it one star because I may not ever come here again, which is a FIRST for me when it comes to small businesses that sell bagels (I've had cheaper, more delicious and fulfilling bagel sandwiches from other places, for sure!)

The bagel was decent but I wouldn't recommend the eggwich. The eggs were microwaved and the ham tastes like thinly sliced Oscar Meyer's.

Delicious fast and healthy. Had the California on an onion bagel. Very good! The way I would want to make it if I had all the stuff. They are fast and efficient- some might see it as rude, but I think it is just a cultural difference. I appreciated how fast everything was.

This is an excellent cafe. I had been craving a smoothie for several weeks and finally gave it. After a quick Yelp search, I landed on Bagel Street Cafe, which is a short walk away from the UC Berkeley campus. Upon entering, I saw a wide variety of bagel options, as well as a menu full of sandwiches and other food options. They have pastries, as well, although not as wide of a variety.I ordered a strawberry banana smoothie, and my partner ordered a mango smoothie. We also ordered a chocolate muffin (not pictured). For the smoothies, you have a 16 oz option and a 20 oz option. The smaller size is under $6 and the larger is under $7. Not bad for a smoothie. The smoothies are also made with fresh ingredients. I watched the lady add the fresh fruit! The mango smoothie has fresh mango and mango juice (amazing option for mango lovers!). Both smoothies were excellent! The chocolate muffin was good too; exactly what we expected it to be. We loved the smoothies so much that we returned 2 days later for more!The service was quick, and the lady was very pleasant and chatted with us while we waited for our smoothies. The ambience is like a typical deli (very casual). I'm sure this place gets a lot of foot traffic once school starts, given its proximity to the campus. The breakfast sandwich options looked delicious, too!Overall, this is a really great place to get a smoothie. I haven't tried the coffee or the sandwiches/bagels yet, but I plan to. I definitely recommend this place!

Bagel variety of flavors was great but they warm the bagels rather than toast them; wish there was some crunch to it. I got an egg on a marinara bagel, but it really needed some crunch. The outside of the bagel was good but the middle was kinda bland for me. They are super fast, know what you're ordering by the time you get to the counter! Best taken to go and eaten on campus or at home.

No BS, family business. They have pretty much a little bit of everything you'd look for. Portions are decent, not super generous. Prices are decent. Wheat bagel was toasted to perfection. Good balance of lox with veggies. Small indoor seating area. Busy with steady stream of customers.

BOMB !! So many options to pick from within bagels. The prices seem reasonable as well. The people are very fishy lol.

Rude asf, lady at the front slammed the counter to get a group of people to quiet down. Cheap bagels but rude asf staff, that's why I never leave a tip lol
