Came in with my friends and had a great time! We did have a reservation, and they quickly sat us. Of course, if you don't have one, you will probably have to wait a bit. So if you don't want to wait, then make a reservation! The sides included were amazing. The meat was also super delicious. We were a group of 5, and one combo + appetizer was enough to fill us up. The fried dumplings are a must! The mocktails were absolutely fantastic as well. Honestly, price wise it was fine. I think you pay for the experience + food, and overall I think it is definitely worth it. The service was really nice as well. I will definitely be back!

Yummy food and excellent service in a busy and lively restaurant. They have many options to choose from and their corn cheese is amazing! I like how they have steamed egg cooking while your meats are cooking as well. Our server, Risa is 10/10! She was very attentive and fast to restock requested side dishes. She also gave us good meat recommendations. I like eating everything well done and she made sure it was perfect despite coming in at a busy hour.

Date: Saturday, January 25th, 2025Time: 1:30pmMeal: LunchParty of: 2Reservations: made via SevenRooms the day prior*Combo - S - Marinated Combo ($79)*Appetizer - Fried Dumplings ($19)*Jinro is Back ($16)It had been a while since I met up with a girlfriend. We were randomly texting about something and decided to have lunch the next day. It was pretty easy to make a rezzie here. We arrived a little early, but they seated us a few mins before our booked time. It was pretty busy, so I'm guessing weekends are typically like this. We saw others waiting longer than us.I had every intention of ordering the Combo - S - Hodong's Favorite Combo, but when my gf looked at the menu, she was drawn to the marinated one. I didn't much of it and didn't really care at the time, but when the food came out and I was looking at the neighboring table, I realized I wanted to try the boneless short rib. Oh well, I chalked it up not paying attention and my own stupidity. The marinated combo came with - beef belly, bulgogi, marinated hanger steak, marinated pork, spicy pork belly. All the meats were pretty good. I found pork belly kinda sweet, but I had the other meats to concentrate on instead. The side dishes are a plenty. My favs being the salad and fish cakes. The cheese corn was also a great touch, tho the egg ended up super over as it's just sitting there on the well by the grill. They grill your meat for you, so if you're a slow eater, it sometimes feels like hovering since they keep asking you if you are done with one plate of meat so they can cook the next. Woulda been fine if they just grilled everything and we just ate what we wanted. They did end up doing that at the end since we were catching up and eating slowly. Getting side dishes refilled involved flagging people down. Similar to old school dim sum restos. We also didn't get our soup until the end of the meal, so I think they may have forgotten about that dish?I didn't know much about Baekjeong when we decided to come here. I figured it was a higher end KBBQ spot which attentive service, lavish meats, etc. It kinda feels the same as an AYCE if they cooked the meat for you. Granted this spots meat quality is better, but with the marinated meats combo, I've had comparable at AYCE spots.Might come back to try the short ribs, but with pricing for parking as well, idk if it's worth it.REVIEW #3683

We were so excited when Baekjeong first opened in the Bay because the LA location was our absolute favorite. (We waited the four hours down in LA!) We went to the Santa Clara location when they first opened (a few times) then stopped going for a while. We came back again recently for dinner on a weekday and there was no wait. It was the emptiest I'd seen it. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and service have gone down. Our waitress seemed to be in a rush to cook our food despite not having many parties in the restaurant. She kept dropping empty dishes so loudly in their dirty rack and it would startle my newborn. She would quickly grill our meat then leave after. She seemed annoyed when we asked even just for a water refill. We ordered the small meat combo which consisted of brisket, prime boneless short ribs, pork belly, and marinated pork collar. The beef was good, no complaints there. The pork belly was cut too thick and it was too fatty. The marinated pork was alright. I remember it tasting much better in the previous visits. I asked for garlic--- you can tell it had been sitting out for who knows how long. It came with two chopped pieces of jalapeños (like it was cut daysssss ago) and wilted pieces of garlic. The ban Chan looked like it had been sitting out all day as well. I had a few pieces of the fish cake and some of the ends were hardened. A bit disappointing given how popular and how much we used to rave about Baekjeong down in SoCal. Hopefully they fix the problems with service and decide to go back to serving fresh and new food.

Went on the Saturday after valentine's day, ordered the beef combo (enough to feed 2-3 people).Always wanted to try this but figured there was going to be long waits, happened to have a reservation open and thought it was a great opportunity. It's really enjoyable to have them cooking for you because you know that on top of quality, there's some consistency / safety to it. Because I don't always cook the greatest, I don't want to waste the quality meat, so it was perfect that they had someone grill for us. Since they have someone grilling each of the groups of meats, on top of this, they're really attentive. Before you sit down, they have all of the ban chan out for you, with a really refreshing radish and onion salad. I loved all of the options, kimchi, pickled cucumbers, fish cake, all of them were amazing. The combo had a great choice of meats and we chose the kimchi soup, had quite a kick to it but a lot of flavor, and the sauce paired well with everything.

I've been to this Baekjeong location thrice now, so I have a pretty good grasp of how I feel about this specific store. The lines on the weekend are still long so be prepared to put your name down early and go walk around Valley Fair until they're ready. On our most recent visit, we ordered a large Hodong Favorite's Combo. The quality of the meats itself were not bad, but we were a little upset by the service we received. Our server seemed really rushed and was very rough with our meat (lol).

This is my second time at Baekjeong, and I had a great time! Now that they have been established for a bit, I was able to get a same day reservation (unlike the first time where I had to get a table weeks in advanced!) We got a text message 30 minutes before to check-in when we come.As we arrived, we needed to wait about 10 minutes before a table was ready. However, I guess there was some miscommunication and they initially guided us to an unset table---having us wait back at the lobby for a few minutes before actually seating. Once we got a table though, everything was smooth sailing. We quickly got an order in and the food came quick! The banchans were delicious and the salt enhanced the meats very well. For five people, we got the Beef Tartare, Small Beef Set, and Small Marinated Meats Set. The Beef Tartare was delicious! It was my favorite meat of the night! They mix it in front of you and it was light and sweet. Additionally, the meat sets we got were great. The meats were flavorful and they cooked for us. I believe we had an initial cook who was new, as three other servers were watching and giving comments. Either way, service was kind and responsive! The restaurant is in Valley Fair, and it is a fairly open space with lots of decor and fans.I also love the egg, and I typically would wait til the servers say the meat is okay to eat before digging in. However, I realized that waiting would make the meat dry, so I recommended using your discretion more.We were all so full and had such a great meal!
