Ordered: single scoop in a cup with sucker punch and MF monsterHighlights: Offers samples!sucker punch is quite literally lemon bar in ice cream form. It indeed had a punch (fitting name) which caught me by surprise. MF monster was one of the more richer Biscoff flavors. I thought the two would be odd together but they were delish.Texture was perfect and portion was great. They even asked if I had a preference for which flavor I want on top which I always appreciate!Notes: parking was easy and there are two tables outside and a bunch of stools inside. They only have 6 flavors (but doubled/mirrored them). I tried 4/6 and they were all solid. Looking forward to coming back and trying new flavors!

We came in this past saturday afternoon for some ice cream pints. I bought the Strawberry Cracker Pie, Mr. Potatohead, and MF Monster. I loved them all. The texture, flavorings, and mix ins were perfect. I'm someone who really loves ice cream, and I eat it all over the world. Although we have some famous ice creams in the Bay Area, they aren't all that good despite some of the prices. My favorites around the world are Gelato Messina in Australia, Mitchell's in Cleveland, and Caffe Panna in NYC. Now I can add Bad Walter's too the list. Bad Walter's reminds me of Caffe Panna ice cream the most, and it's truly wonderful. My husband is more of a smooth, plain guy when it comes to ice cream (he's European so think plain gelato with no mix ins). However even he thought Bad Walter's was amazing. We live on the Peninsula but we will be back for special trips to get our fix! This is THE BEST ice cream in the bay area by far- and probably all of California. Service was great also. A very nice girl assisted me and gave me a few samples so I knew I was buying pints I would like. Thanks, Sydney, for your creative and expert ice cream (I went to pastry school so I feel like I know quality when I see it).

I CANT STOP COMING and I seriously need to because it's wedding crunch time :') The problem is, I follow Bad Walter's on Instagram to see what their flavors of the week are, and every week Sydney drops some new bomb af flavor that I absolutely have to try. It's been taking a ton of self control to resist going in EVERY week.Bad Walter's is easily one of my top ice cream shops in the bay (alongside Garden Creamery in SF). Where it differs is that Bad Walters is eclectic mix-ins v.s. Garden Creamery is smooth, singular flavors. Bad Walter's is delightful and unexpected. The worst part is that when you fall in love with a flavor, you might not see it again for a few weeks. Currently still waiting for the return of Ma-nilla Dreams; I had bought a pint for a friend to try it and she ate it within two days. I am holding on to my last half pint right now until they restock.Another great addition is their hot chocolate. They serve it as a choco-gato (like an affogato but with hot chocolate instead of coffee). I prefer the hot chocolate on it's own; it reminds me of my study abroad days in paris because its decadent and warm and rich.Anyway - go check it out - you won't be disappointed. the bad reviews are literally just haters. Even my fiance, who specifically doesn't like ice cream as hes generaly not a dessert person, comes for a scoop when our favorite flavors are back in the shelf.

**4.5 stars rounded up to 5 stars**I've been following Bad Walter on Instagram since her pop up days, but I never got a chance to try the ice cream until now! The aesthetic is very quirky and fun, which makes it super welcoming. We tried the Classic B Martini and the Dirt Cup, which were both unique flavors. The ice cream itself is super smooth in texture as well. It's a bit on the sweeter side for me, but I'm excited to try more flavors and continue supporting Bad Walter's!

Some of these reviews crack me up. I wanted to try a new ice cream spot while visiting my cousin. We literally tried every flavor they had and felt bad we didn't like any of them. I felt bad and got a scoop of their Mf'in monster. They have rotating flavors weekly which is intriguing but they were not for us. The plain o vanilla did not taste like vanilla.

I was honestly super excited to try this place after its claim that they're the best. They offer about 6 flavors, and staff is friendly and attentive. I sampled 2 of the flavors, and immediately felt an overload of salt in my mouth. I thought it was just the sample spoon itself, perhaps it picked up a concentrated area of saltiness. My friend and I both ordered a small kid's scoop each of fruity pebbles and MF monster, and although ice cream is my all-time favorite dessert, I'm saddened to say that these scoops were difficult to finish. As much as I wanted to like the flavor and the ice cream, although the ice cream texture was amazing, the flavor was lacking in sweetness and way too overpowering in the saltiness. It was difficult to continue eating this ice cream. Perhaps future flavors or the sorbet are lighter in the saltiness.

When Friday night ice cream cravings hit, we wanted to take an adventure to try a new spot. Lucky us, Bad Walter's is hot & new so we had to check it out!Bad Walter's takes the space where Smitten used to be. When we arrived at around 8 PM, there was a line down the sidewalk. It moved quickly, luckily, but you could tell this is a popular spot! The inside area of the ice cream shop is small. The capacity sign notes it's really just for 7 people. There isn't much seating except for a few stools on the side and there's more seating with tables outside. There were groups of people spending time with their friends/families enjoying their ice cream outside, even though it was getting a little cold! Back in the shop, you've got the fridge for pints right by the front counter. You can try any of the flavors before buying. When I got there, they only had 3 or 4 flavors. I think once they get more settled in, they'll have more.Staff was great and super friendly. They were handling the crowds with ease and didn't let it phase them (or at least they didn't let it show!)Love the unique ice cream flavors! This time, I went with the chocolate badino which has chocolate covered potato chips and marshmallow fluff. I loved the texture with the chips and the creamy ice cream. Flavor-wise, it was pretty good but very sweet. The saltiness of the potato chip didn't really come through and I wasn't getting much marshmallow flavor, but it was still a good ice cream. We also got the irish goodbye which is the salted caramel ice cream. Also very sweet! We went with the kids size and it was the perfect amount for just a small sweet treat.Excited to try more flavors! We had checked out their instagram ahead of time and were excited to try some of the ones on there, so we were a little bummed when they didn't have it in store. Guess we'll just have to come back! Hopefully, as they get more settled in, they'll be posting their daily flavors somewhere (website? Instagram stories?) so that we can see what they have before heading over! I know there are some flavors on there that will definitely have me coming in when I see it's available.

Despite the chaos of an opening week, I have been trying to get my hands on Bad Walter's every day haha. I can't believe my review was 19 days ago bc I have gotten 4 pints of their ice cream since then and I live 20/30 min away so that says something!!! If you like the fun mixing of Ben and Jerry's, you'll LOVE Bad Walter's bc it's got a similar vibe but they aren't owned by a genocidal corporation. The service is always friendly and the pint freezer has been reasonably full the other two times I've gone which were about 3 and 5 hours after they opened. Do yourself a favor and get your ice cream from here. Anyone that comes to town to visit me moving forward, I plan on bringing em here! HEAD IN THE CLOUDS (8.9/10)Love that the cotton candy custard is not like most places, it's sweet but light and the cereal marshmallows add a nice texture as well and just mouth feel taste. I do still prefer MF Monster. MA-NILLA DREAMS (8/10)The Ube custard with nilla wafers and banana caramel do in fact mirror a banana pudding experience that I find to taste better than the famous magnolia bakery. I liked it but I personally am not a huge banana pudding person. GEORGE COSTANZA (8/10) This dark chocolate custard with caramel ribbons and cookie crunches was really fun but for me was very very rich. I think Sexual Chocolate is a bit better balanced out because of the marshmallow fluff but ofc if you love Twix and dark chocolate, this is for you.
