So excited to know that this shop is local!Parking: There is a tiny parking spot in the back that is good for 30 mins, but I recommend parking on the street. The parking spaces are tight and easily filled.Food: I feel confident in stating that this might be the best bean pie I've had in the Bay Area.Service: Sweet, cordial and in & out (perfect!)

Must admit, I wasn't exactly thrilled by the name nor the product at first thought. A series of jokes relating to flatulence and a movie scene in a Mel Brooks comedy western came to mind.A few weeks passed before I finally stopped to ask questions and study their menu (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=pUwZ-9UB3oeClvidYFmr6A). Being unsure , I started with a baby bean bite (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=fZY7VdO2hcU1d9FSaa3Gpg); I enjoyed this three bite tart that reminded me of pumpkin pie. The mix of cinnamon and likely nutmeg was very smooth with a slight grainy texture. I also tried the buttermilk bean pie (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=42VgRALtx7st0grO6fzYQQ) which I enjoyed more as it was a richer and creamier version.I am glad that I tried this. Though I wouldn't go out of my way to eat it, I know if someone wanted to try something different and enjoys pumpkin pies, this is available.

Baby Bean Pie opened where Creative Sips was in E. 14th. Eatery. Mostly inside seating. 2 tables outside. Decor no changeOfferings: savory/sweet/hand pies, creamcakes, drinks, fish hoagie, cookies...Bites: free samples cookies on Friday. PassedOrder at counter, pd, food brought to table in 15 minutes.Baby bean pie sweet (3)-crust tasted the usual graham style. Navy bean filling smooth, taste probably same. Not eaten forDecadesFish Hoagie (13.50) with house made wheat roll-whiting filet had skin, a few small bones. Decent size. No flava due to it's light batter friedness. Great comfort food sensation from mix of lettuce, tomatos, tart pickles, red onions & flavorings of mayo, black pepper, & spices. 4.5 stars. street parking Difficult at peak hours.

A new baker a the the Ferry Building Farmers Market. Oddly enough, there are now two vendors selling bean pie. Though this tent offers few pie options and also branched off to other baked goods.Big Baby: Tried a sample at the tent and knew I needed the whole pie! It reminds me a bit of sweet potato pie in terms of both taste and texture. Though maybe a tad more gelatinous. It's really a great contrast with a buttery flaky crust, smooth interior and crackling sugar on top.

Since the Muslim bakery closed many moons ago, have been looking for place for bean pies and whiting sandwiches. Please not that the location listed here on Yelp is not correct. I had seen this on Localish and it was showcased for a little pop in San Leandro. They are open 2pm-6pm and I highly recommend you call first. So we get there and there is one woman working, which is fine. I think its a husband wife thbusiness's. The gentleman came in about 20 mins later. They offer a few other items, navy bean soup and a bean veggie burger. We ordered the whiting fish hoagie, burgers, ginger beer and of course baby bean pies. Btw it's not on the main menu but if you ask they have whole bean pies too.Ok, the good. Fish hoagie were tasty. They fried the whiting like little catfish/snapper nuggests.. include tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, sauce and cheese(if you want) served on wheat roll. For me a little too much bread. The bean burger was served same way but on a wheat bun, which I liked. It was a little dry so I added a little mayo when I got home. But preferred it over the hoagie. And the reason we came. Bean pies. The right size for one. The taste was good, but wished it was a bit firmer. From what I recall the pies are generally firmer. They top with cinnamon. Perhaps a bit too much.Over all I would come back. I love supporting small business's and this couple really appreciated our order and us for coming after seeing them on the program.
