Super clean and tidy restaurant! Servers were very friendly and informative. We are not very familiar with Indian food so we had a lot of questions! The food blew our socks off! Wow! We are big fans!Started with the Samosa Chaat. Pretty rich but soooo flavorful with the spices. Shared the chicken kebab and it was served to us in a sizzling platter with onions and peppers and big chunks of chicken. There was a slightly sweet sauce on the bottom that was wonderful. Lamb curry was delicious as well. Fluffy basmati rice excellent. The Naan OMG! We got the garlic. We can't compare to the others but all we know is that we were happy with our choice. All this came to $62 for 2 people. which I thought was pretty reasonable. And lots left over we took home. Don't skip over this place on 1st street. It really deserves you to try them out!

The King has returned.Aroma used to be me and my girls go to back in the day. And unfortunate fire during covid led this place to close and Benicians has been dreaming for its return. I feel like its been like 2-3 years but Im so happy this place is finally back. Benicia has always had some good Indian Food in town but what I appreciated about Aroma is that their dishes always had a little extra oomph than other places Ive tried. The Masala just has a deeper tomato sauce and spice to it. The Chicken Korma uses chicken thigh rather than the usual chicken breast. No matter what I eat though, it just tastes like the dishes have been through many generations of being made. This particular I went they were out of Samosa Chaat. They recommend the Aloo Tikki Chaat which tasted similar but now I want to get again someday to switch it up. Makes me want to try even more stuff next time. Also I don't know if it's a new thing but the minute we got there is smelt like sage which Im always a fan of. If someone wasn't from Benicia and they wanted me to recommend one Indian Place in town. I feel like Aroma might be the place.

Our favorite is back! My family has frequented Aroma for over a decade now, aside from the recent-several year closure. We've been back a couple times since they reopened and not only is everything just as good as I recalled, but the restaurant itself is nicer. The space is less crowded and temperature controlled, finally!! Decor is a little sparse, but tasteful. Service was attentive and friendly, definitely kicked up a couple notches from the past. There are a couple dishes we enjoyed that are no longer on the menu, but there's a lot more on the menu overall. Our picky daughter loves the paneer and strawberry lassis. We've only ordered tikka masala since they reopened and it was delicious both times. We both think the heat level was reduced a bit so we'll be ordering a level up next time. We've tried so many other Indian restaurants during the Aroma hiatus, and while we were happy to find a couple we enjoyed, Aroma remains the favorite.

They've re-opened after a years-long closure, surprised as I figured they had to be done for good (especially with two other Indian restaurants in town now, I don't know if Benicia can support 3 Indian restaurants). As always, for better or for worse, I grade Benicia restaurants on a very slight curve, since I don't expect SF-level 5s in such a small town.Food is quite good imo. Portions aren't huge, but the curries are very flavorful how I like them. Their Tikka Masala is better imo than the other options in town, and that's my go-to. I like the sharp/strong tomato flavor.Naan was on point. Mixed veggie pakora was competent.I ordered online so I can't really speak to service at all. I'm glad they were able to re-open though and wish them success.

Review for Saturday takeout dinner.Used the online order website, user friendly. They'll text you when they accept your order and when it's ready to pick up, this was nice!We ordered:Chole bhature (the bread/bhature was yummy! Samosa chaat (all in one container, samosa was no longer crunchy, chutney sauces mixed in. Better to enjoy dine-in.)We ordered these 3 dishes mild, but they still had a kick to it. Chicken tika masala, Methi malai chicken, Kerahi chicken needed more salt. Ingredients were fresh. It was ok overall.

This Indian restaurant delivers an exceptional dining experience with its rich flavors and warm hospitality. The menu features a perfect balance of classic dishes and unique specialties, all prepared with high-quality ingredients and bold spices. The saag paneer is creamy and flavorful, while the tikka masala boasts fragrant rice and tender meat. The naan is perfectly soft and pairs well with every dish. Service is attentive, and the ambiance is inviting, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place won't disappoint!
