Unknown if Allegro has changed their coffee bean sourcing. it's been awhile since i've drank their coffee. brew: middle roast coffee (m. 3) "element" 12 ounce?-tasted slightly harsh initially, muddy afterwards.probably would taste ok mixed with milk.drips:-no line. just one patron and one server.

Ive been meaning to write a review for a long time.This is for the Allegro in San Francisco, Ocean Ave in Whole foods.I get up much earlier than my better half so I need coffee A Sap! There is not much close to his home unless you consider Mickey D's good!Coffee inside Wholefoods, why not? Sounds worth a Shot.There Coffee Rules....Seriously, these Folks no how to do Good Coffee.They are very Friendly and have a huge sitting area too sit and read, study or just relax while you enjoy your Java.It is loud at times due to all the college kids in there but its all good.When Im around the area and in need of a coffee , they fit the Bill. While shopping at Whole Foods, I decided to drop by Allegro Coffee Bar near the entrance. At first the workers ignored me until I asked them if they were still open. The cashier said yes, so I placed my order for a dark chocolate mocha. It took her several minutes to actually make the single drink. When I finally received it, the mocha was scorching hot and took quite a while to cool down.When I was finally able to drink it, it was the most burnt and bitter tasting mocha I have ever had. It was clear that the espresso used was very stale and old tasting. It was so bitter I couldn't finish it. I had even tried to add some sweetener to it, but nothing helped.I called the store and was told I would be connected to someone at Allegro, however after several minutes on hold, I gave up.I proceeded to email the customer service on the website, yet after a week I have received no response.Save your money and order a coffee down the street at any of the other cafes. No matter how desperate you may be, I highly recommend that you avoid Allegro at all costs.

Really not sure what the other reviewer here is talking about. I've ordered americanos and cappuccinos from allegro on telegraph many times. It is delicious every time. The service isn't always great but that's probably because there are slow periods throughout the day and so the cashier walks off to do other things or to take a break. I've seen this multiple times and it's really not a big deal. Also, hung up after a few minutes on hold? You must not have cared as much as you say then, if that's all it took for you to hang up. I am a bit of a coffee snob and I have to say allegro cappuccino is one of the best capps I've had.

Blech! Got an iced coffee that tasted like stale burnt Folgers instant that had been sitting out for days except not as good. I will drink many a cup of coffee without complaint, but even i could not stomach this one. Not sure if it was a randomly rancid brew or the usual flavor, but will not return to find out.
