I came here due to Coffee with the City. I was amazed how many people come by before they go to school and work. I will say that the owner of Alamode was very nice giving me a great service. I ate three donuts and I was still there for 45 minutes enjoying the people coming by.Alamode has been in business since my days attending Pinole Valley High School. I wonder if Pinole would declare Alamode Donut a landmark.Looking from the inside I can see a view of Pinole Valey High School or MOD Pizza. I will say that I enjoy looking through the window to see cars parking. Keep doing good business Alamode Donut

When I'm craving donuts, Alamode Donut Shop is my go-to spot! The donuts are always fresh, soft, and airy. They have so many colorful and flavorful options to choose from, but my favorites are the sugar-coated donuts and the maple bars. I've never encountered a stale donut in this shop--everything is always top quality. The store opens very early, so I sometimes stop by before my commute to work to grab a dozen for my coworkers. The shop is clean, and the owners are super friendly.Aside from their delicious donuts, they also offer cup noodles, coffee, sodas, juices, and made-to-order breakfast sandwiches. I've tried their croissant sandwiches, and they're really good and reasonably priced. There's seating available if you want to relax and enjoy your coffee and donuts, but I usually get mine to go in a box so I can share them with my family or coworkers. This place is a gem!

Our local go-to donut spot in Pinole. Busy area due to PVHS being nearby and shopping plaza across the way.The donuts will go quick so you got to get there early enough to get your choices. The breakfast sandwiches are also a must try, quick and easy to make but it's filling.Affordable compared to other nearby establishments where you can get those IG snapshot worthy photos of donuts if that is what you are looking for.

I'm not the type that actually pre-plans donut purchases. I'm like a Method actor. Like Brando when he was young and full of testosterone, I live in the moment. Only now I'm a Method eater. Like Brando when he was old and full of estrogen, I gorge in the moment. There was plenty of selection in this Pinole shop but apparently no one to serve me.Oh wait, she's on the phone. Yep, still on the phone...OK, she's getting off now. Yes, here I am. I decided on a couple of $1.50 cake donuts, a Red Velvet and a Maple Nut (photo: https://yelp.to/rVgDor5snq). I didn't bother to take them to go. I ate them at a blue formica table because remember I eat in the moment. They satisfied my Method exercise.FOOD - 3.5 stars...yep, they were donuts alrightAMBIANCE - 3 stars...formica citySERVICE - 3 stars...well...TOTAL - 3 stars...method to my madnessRELATED - Exploring western Contra Costa? A classic donut shop in Pinole just 1 mile for me, friendly service, classic coffee, and donuts made the old-fashioned way. Simple, yes, satisfying, basic ambience, but this place takes pride and what they do. My first visit was on national donut day in the winter time this past Sunday, November 5. I got an old-fashioned maple which hit all the areas of satisfaction and balance in a classic maple doughnut. I'm excited to go back and try some more, supporting this little local gem...

I've been coming here as a kid and the donuts are just the same as I remembered I've brought these for a party at work and the donuts were flying out of the boxes like hotcakes. The ambiance is the same as I remembered it 20 years ago. The service is the same, friendly as I remember it.

Okay, this is an awesome family owned business that I discovered a few years ago. They have a variety of donuts and breakfast sandos plus a bunch of different freshly brewed coffee, not to mention cold drinks. Even in the early morning, there's usually a line but it moves quickly.

This place is a really great hidden secret of Pinole. All of the donut variety you can want, coffee and fresh sandwiches. It's got that rare classic donut shop vibe that's more commonly found in SF where hanging around before, during and after your donut and coffee is welcomed.
