This place is pretty great. Second time there, my tummy is warm and happy and I'm so glad this place moved in! Our must eats for two are:- Pork XiaoLong Bao - Wontons in Chili Oil - Sautéed Garlic Green Beans - And your preference of either egg fried rice w/ shrimp or Shanghai style chow mein We drizzle some of the chili oil from the wontons over the XiaoLong Bao The green beans are sooo garlicky and also quite salty and cooked just beautifully- they are addictive and perfect and the serving is HUGE but no amount of them could be too much.

Yummy Chinese American food. Ordered beef rolls, sautéed garlic green beans, pork wontons in chili oil, pork soup dumplings, chicken chow mein, and shrimp fried rice. There is soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil at the table. All the items were yummy. Stand outs were the shrimp fried rice (generous amount of big juicy shrimp), green beans (good garlicky but not overwhelming flavor, good texture), beef roll (something new for me- crispy and beef inside reminded me of pho with the flavor and texture of brisket inside).Restaurant is clean, service is fast. You order up front and they bring the food to you. Self serve water. I'd come back to try more items.

Ordered won ton soup and pot stickers for lunch. Didn't get a pic of pot stickers but they are delicious. Soup and wontons are delicious. The prices seem high to me. These 2 items were $28.00. Really!I like their food but I have to recycle a lot of cans to afford this food. No, I'm not homeless, just a metaphor for working to afford something.

First time I came in I sat down and nobody served us or said anything so we walked out. Decided to give them a try a few months later and figured out you have to order first and sit down. Lol.The food was okay.

Finally have a chained dumpling place in Vallejo. We love dumpling and we always go to Concord to eat dumpling but now we have a dumpling place in Vallejo. We always order their pan fried pork bun, pork xiao long bun, noodles. Fresh made and delicious. This place is mainly self serve. You order at the counter and you find an empty seats your own. Place is a bit small and sometimes it gets busy.

After a day at Six Flags, we visited 88 Bao Bao, and it was a tasty experience. The garlic green beans were perfectly cooked, with a wonderful balance of flavors that made for a fantastic start to our meal. The pork bao was soft and fluffy, filled with savory BBQ pork goodness. But the highlight was the crab and pork Xiao Long Bao. Each bite was a burst of deliciousness, with the perfect combination of crab and pork in a delicate, flavorful broth. The restaurant itself was clean, and the staff were welcoming, enhancing our dining experience by offering suggestions for different dishes. If you are looking for bao dishes in Vallejo, it's worth a visit.

Gateway plaza. Overall it's a good addition to Vallejo with decent dim sum. Nothing can beat getting dim sum in the city, but at least I don't have to cross the bridge. Not much seating is available so don't expect to go with a big group. They lost a lot of customers due to a lack of seating. But I will say the food comes out fast so don't be discouraged if they don't have available seating. The turn around is quick and we got our food within minutes of ordering. Some must get dishes would be the pan fried pork buns and regular pork xiao long baos. Shrimp dumpling would be an honorable mention since the dough for the har gow wasn't sticky and had a good chew to it. Chicken chow mein was good. I would get again. I would steer clear from the chili wontons. It was bland and honestly we didn't even finish it. It wasn't even worth taking home. Crab and pork soup dumpling was good, but not worth the price. Would go ba

This review is for to-go and Doordash only. We ordered from here a couple times. PROS: food was great! decent sized menuSuch good flavorNice to have a solid dim sum place added to the area--we need this! Helpful staffCONS:Small placeNot a ton of seatingNot the best area. Unfortunately i have grown up in the Vallejo area and it's not as safe as it used to be, but thats just Vallejo, and California in recent years. I've heard of car break ins and car part theft happening in this general parking lot and area I will always come back and order from either 88 Bao Bao Vallejo or Vacaville

If you're craving dumplings, this place does a pretty good job. When dining in, you order at the counter and they give you a number to put on your table. The major con is that the place is pretty small, so I would advise against coming with a group bigger than four unless you come at an off-time.For food recommendations, the star is the pork xiaolongbao, which comes steaming hot and is filled with brothy goodness. I also really enjoyed the beef rolls and pan fried pork buns, which are nice and savory. The shanghai style chow mein is also pretty solid.Overall, pretty good place and a welcome addition to your food rotation in Vallejo.

88 Bao Bao is in an unfortunate spot in a strip mall where many small (space-wise) businesses are located, making parking a bit scarce at times, especially the evenings and weekends. It's a tiny place that has never looked very inviting for dining in.We ordered take out the other night and let's just say I was glad I wasn't very hungry. There were three sauces with no explanation that all spilled on the way. The potstickers were off, filled with a flavorless, gelatinous mound and extra liquid. The doughy part was too thick and steamed with a slight pan sear at the end that prevented it from developing the bite in was looking for. The potstickers sauce was flavorless. The other two sauces seemed to be vinegar and a chili oil. My husband got the buns and third dish, the two most commonly ordered items according to their website. He did enjoy the buns, but he said the other dish was not right. Sorry, but we won't be returning.
