85°C Bakery Cafe-San Leandro

From savory to sweet. My delicious cravings are filled. Here's a brief review of my top selection from 85 Degrees Bakery Cafe (minus the drinks--I'll review them some other day).Mango Custard Bun. Slightly sweet with hints of tanginess from the tropical fruit. This bun tastes like a goodness pillow.Boroh Danish. Do you know what's going on in here? It's all the crispiness savory yummy. Croissant Crunch. More like Bye Bear Claws. Jumbo Guava Cheese Strudel. Porto's famous guava pastry wannabe?Love that parking is open in the plaza and free for patrons. There's almost never a wait line here. So, it's excellent. It's overall not-so-loud. Good for a first date.

I love their assortment of breads, pastries and cakes. I decided to try their mocha coffee today and honestly, it wasn't that great. It just tasted like watered down coffee, no mocha taste, no sugar either. My husband got one of the sea salt coffees and that tasted way better. I love the more savory breads/pastries but they have this brioche loaf that is soooo yummy. Their garlic cheese bread is also really good and my daughters love the chocolate cake roll. The staff is always really friendly and helpful as well. The bakery is in a shopping plaza with tons of parking so that's a plus!

I've been to this location twice; it's now the nearest location to where I live after the Berkeley store shut down quite a few years ago. I like that you can get two hours of free parking, it's walkable from San Leandro BART station, there are other shops and restaurants in the plaza, and there are some outdoor tables within a few minutes walking from this 85c location.Chocolate chip bowl: Sweet, powdered sugar, I like that the chocolate chips are rich-tasting.Choco bun: This is super heavy in chocolate flavor, with a gooey chocolate center; definitely recommend it to any chocolate lovers.Matcha chocolate bun: the chocolate and matcha both come out, I thought it was a good balance. It is both sweet and savory but definitely heavier on the sweet part- I would personally prefer the matcha and chocolate even more bitter.Sea salt matcha latte, iced, large, 25% sweetness - It was actually quite bitter, and I appreciate that compared to some boba shops, that you can get the drink to not be sweet if you ask for a lower sweetness level. I also liked the sea salt creama on top. The prices for drinks are pretty decent compared to boba shops nowadays in the bay area.Whole wheat mushroom: This was actually also really sweet, and personally I would've liked it to be less oily and more savory and salty. The mushrooms did still make it somewhat savory.The first time I went, the staff were still wearing masks which I appreciated, and the checkout experience was fast yet friendly even though the store was fairly busy both times I went. The bathroom was labeled as being for employees only, unfortunately.

Busy busy busy store. But lots of baked goodies! Music playing, crowded store. I got some drinks to go along with my pastries! I love this place. They added new items on the menu too, I'll be sure to give it a try, HOT SANDWICHES!This store is a gem! I hope it doesn't change. I'm forever a regular here. They make fresh pastries and breads that are baked every hour and they also have cream cakes and handcrafted coffee and tea drinks, blended drinks and milk teas. Having been to five locations in the Bay Area and two in Las Vegas, somehow I haven't been to the location closest to me in San Leandro Plaza, until recently. This location is smaller than the locations that I've visited. The selection is not as extensive and some of my favorites were not made here. I asked the clerk about the taro puff pastry, ube bread, and custard milk bun and he said they don't have those here. So I got some of my other favorites, marble taro and mochi custard tarts. Checking my 85°C app, they had some 50% off offers, so I decided to also get the cinnamon roll.Good to have 85°C within a short drive away. Hope they will expand their offerings and include more of the 85°C varieties. 3.5 stars.

Although the slice of cake is little and wasn't that tasty, but it was good and the raspberry on top looked to be a few days old. I think the slice of cake is overpriced. They should make the slice bigger at least. However, the other two with the bacon and the coconut in the center was delicious fresh and worth the price. I go to 85° at least a couple times a week and they have very good pastries. It's just the slice of cake let me down.

It's Asian themed bakery with variety of Asian fusion pastries. Variety of smoothies and shakes. Some decent indoor seating. Service is OK.Accessible with wide path inside.Great place to meetup, groups, kids and even couples or first date with open space and atmosphere.

I have become a frequent flyer of this bakery. Always busy always fresh customer service very helpful when needed.

Drinks are good but pretty basicLove the garlic bread and some of the pastriesCoffee gives powder mix instant flavorCakes have nice flavor good cream filling ,but ,cake itself is like dry bread, not moist.

Quick service I always overspent when I go here. Different varieties of bread and treats. They also have different drinks. All the breads are very tasty. You choose what you like. Put it in a basket and bring it to the front to get ring up.
