Oakberry Açaí Bowls and Smoothies - La Jolla

Parked by Seasons 52, shopped a bit, and ended the day with a sweet treat from Oakberry.It's a cute little kiosk and ordering is a breeze. Julia took my name, crossed it off a list, and presented all the offerings to make my açaí bowl my own special creation.The classic includes tons of unlimited toppings including granola (gluten free available), peanut butter, coconut, goji berry, chia seeds, cacao nibs, Nido milk powder, blueberries, strawberries, and banana. Also loved the OAK PB crumbs that added both texture and extra PB flavor. The classic was enough to share IMO and I'm glad to know I've got a solid spot to help beat the heat the next time I'm at UTC.Friendly staff, and a great location with a seating area to enjoy your custom creation.

Awful wait for this place! It was a one man show. The line was long, and she had to fill so many orders. It took her 45 min to get my one açaí order, along with my 6 Brazil cheese bites. They should always have a minimal of 2 people, especially on the weekends. Other than that, the food is good. Just irritated with all the rest of the customers for waiting so long!

I love love açaí and heard great things about oak berry so I had to try it when I visited San Diego! It was at UTC mall as a kiosk and we ordered a plain acai smoothie because we didn't want toppings mixed in. It was delicious but definitely on the sweeter side. Price wise it was also expensive at $9 without tax or tip. The bowl does look good so maybe I'll try that next time!

Great place! Our smoothie bowls tasted great. We ordered one classic and a works. There is only one person working but he was pretty quick. Would come agai.

Tasted fine but it was too sweet and a bit icy. I like that you can add all different types of toppings without charge, but it's way overpriced anyways. This was $18...The gal working there was very nice.BTW it's a kiosk in the mall just in case you can't find it. It's fine but I wouldn't come back.

Aside from the location being nearly impossible to find, Oakberry has thee best açaí I've had to date!Flavor and consistency were superb - blended so smoothly and extremely refreshing on a hot day! Toppings were UNLIMITED! I absolutely loved that I could mix and match any of the toppings available! AND they actually layered the granola and peanut butter so that I wasn't eating all granola until reaching the melted açaí at the bottom like most places I've been to. The woman working was also extremely helpful and friendly! She even apologized multiple times when I said it was tricky finding the place (even though she was in no way responsible) - such a kind gesture. Great experience all round! Can't wait to come back!

Food:If it weren't for the higher-than-average price, I'd come here more often as a fan of açaí. Over twenty topping options, I'd recommend getting 4-6 max as they will start to take space away from the açaí. The premium toppings seem good but definitely pricey. Açaí has great texture and its sweetness goes well with nut butter - any is a must add! Oh and the granola too. For fruit, there's the basic banana, strawberry, blueberry.If you aren't in the mood for that, they also offer, oatmeal, smoothies, and coffee.Service:Great service, my order was created beautifully. There is only one worker, so there was a wait to place my order, and then to receive it.Atmosphere:Located within the UTC mall, there is plenty of things to do while enjoying açaí - sit nearby, window shop, walk around with friends. Less foot traffic in this part of the mall so there is room to hang out.

Acai is my weakness, I love acai and have to try it everywhere I see a new brand! This shop is authentically Brazilian, I can affirm this because my fiancée is Brazilian, and I traveled to sao paolo and sao Carlos, Brazil and saw this exact brand there! It's delicious! The servers are Brazilian and are very kind. You can choose unlimited toppings. They serve it in a cup which is different than other places that serve in a bowl. The acai is fresh and delicious, not too sweet too. The only down side is that it is really pricey! The cup on the right was $18! But I'm all about supporting small businesses and I love fresh high quality ingredients. But my cup on the right was a bit smaller and for $13.50 which is more reasonable.

I think since this place is new, Google had a very hard time finding it. I'll save you some trouble and steps, it is in-between Anthropologie and Banana Republic. My açaí bowl was SO good! I love açaí bowls so Oakberry was right up my alley. I like that their bowls are so customizable as you can get as many or as few toppings as you like. Julia was very kind and knowledgeable. I was debating a few toppings, and she helped me process the very hard decision of just which delicious treats I could add. I'll definitely be back--now that I know where it is. :)

Located in the UTC mall, 2hrs free parking. Enter on the La Jolla Village Dr side of the mall. If you park where you see seasons 52 you'll be close by. It's in the arm of the mall near Banana Republic, Gap, Anthropologie, Tesla, etc. It's a little center booth. I love Açaí bowls, these are more like açaí cups and come in 4 different sizes (9oz, 12oz, 16oz, 24oz) and also bucket size of 32oz! Absolutely LOVE these açaí bowls every time I have come. They are on the sweeter side, but that's totally my preference. I enjoy the unlimited toppings to choose from and how customizable my açaí cup can be (as it won't get boring). Very refreshing on a hot day or just wanting a quick bite. So good!!!
