O'Neil's on Wells

Here's another okay bar in the Loop. It's good for a few rounds. O'Neil's is obviously located on Wells. Another obvious fact is that it's an Irish pub, or at least claims to be. The prices aren't always great but for around here these are okay. Certainly it's good for Irish drinks. It's about $10 for a Jameson. That's about typical for around here unfortunately it seems. Beer is cheaper. Maybe get some Guinness instead. It doesn't have much of anything in the way of food. They might have pizza for an occasion but it's rare. Good drinks. It's not cheap but not abnormally expensive. This place can get crazy busy at times.

The pictures speak for themselves. Proper dive bar with frozen pizza and cold beers. Cheap buckets that are a good time for everyone. Crowd can get a little weird but you gotta love it‍

She is so nasty to females! It's disgusting every other bartender is cool besides her I get it she worked there for 20 years she has her regulars but to be so nasty is not a good look. Her customer Mike even told us today she's mean to females. Last time ever coming here, she's so jealous of younger females it's disgusting! Next

If you love corner bars this is the best. The women behind the bar? Forget about it! Everyone is hot and sexy. I could drink there everyday. Well...ok. Lol

I was reading through the reviews before I visited this establishment and saw a few negative reviews, one in particular caught my eye. It was from an individual called Dana P. I was unsure why this review was on Yelp because it had absolutely nothing to do with the service but instead the bartender's appearance. How creepy and weird is that? I think the fact that Yelp allows this sort of a review to be left up is disturbing. If Dana P. disliked the service that is one thing but the fact that she was fickle and only commented on an essential worker's appearance is disgusting. I actually enjoyed my time at O'Neils and will be back. I would implore individuals looking for a chill bar to do the same and ignore Dana P.'s inappropriate and sad comments.

Wouldn't recommend the shuttle. The staff and bartenders were really nice and the pizza their was great and convenient! But the main reason we went was because they offer a bus to soldier field for the bears game. They decided to push the bus departure time back 30 minutes which barely got us to the game before kickoff. They said they were going to leave at 5:45 but didn't leave until after 6:15. They shouldn't charge $7 a ticket for something that doesn't even leave when they say it will. Was very inconsiderate of their customers and they seemed to just care about using the bus for their friends and family since they waited all that time just so their family could get on it. They should've given us our money back for not leaving when they said they would and ruined our first bears game experience. Wouldn't do this again. If you care about getting to the game on time just Uber or take a professional shuttle. Wish I could leave a better review since we did like the bar itself.

My favorite spot for a slice of pizza and drink. Reasonable prices and the coolest folks in the area!! Pizza is delicious and ready to pick up to go or sit in and enjoy.

I have been visiting this bar since 2006 back in the days was called Alcocks now O'Niel. It's an old neighborhood fun sports bar that sells great pizza ! Sadly today was the first time I have been charged for ice... $2.00 (see photo)

A pretty mediocre bar. Staff is friendly enough I guess. Wife and I were bar hopping downtown. We ordered 2 common mixed drinks here and the bartender acted like she didnt know how much they were before blurting out "$22." I set my 20 on the counter and pulled out a few more bucks and she said "sorry, it's downtown prices." No lady, it isnt. Everywhere else we went was much cheaper. I'd pay extra for good atmosphere etc, but that isnt here. Hard pass next time we are in town.
