NY Giant Pizza

I was always hesitant about this spot but we got a giant pizza last weekend for a group hang and I am desperate to do it again this weekend. It is the most 90s nostalgic pizza you never knew you needed. It is comfort. We got the pepperoni. It was fairly priced. And we had leftovers for days. The giant easy feeds 7-8 people! The spot is clean but bare bones, basic, and I like that. They're not doing anything but making pizzas. It's more of a take out operation than a place to enjoy the pie, though there are tables available. If you get the giant, make sure you have a car (the trunk space) to accommodate it. I couldn't get it into the backseat of our Subaru crosstrek. It fit nicely in our trunk but I did need a hand.

I was a NY Giant customer. Same order ever Friday. Except this is the third time, after waiting for an hour and a half with three hungry kids asking where the pizza is, I call and they have lost my order. As a result I'm left scrambling to fix an impromptu dinner.Three strikes.Tony's it is.

I love NY Giant Pizza. It's the best pizza I've ever had in California. They are efficient and straight to the point with service, which I appreciate. It's been consistently good for years. I moved away from San Diego a few years ago and I'm so glad they are still making the same great pizza! Whenever I come back to visit, I'll go out of my way to get NY Giant Pizza.

This place is an absolute hidden gem for San Diego Pizza. Great prices, even better pizza, and family owned! Portions are large and if you call ahead, they've always had my pizza ready in just about 15 minutes. Love love love this place.

If you like thin crust pizza, this is your place. This pizza is among my favorite in the area because the crust is thin, sauce is good and toppings are tasty. Service is ok, not overly friendly, but convenience and taste make it all worth it. Be forewarned that the actual "giant" size is huge, I mean REALLY huge. The "large" is 20".

I wanted to feed a large group of coworkers with last minute planning and NY Giant Pizza came through in a clutch. This review is based on needing good quality Togo pizza for a large group. There's no better option.I called right when they opened at 10. I am sure they weren't expecting that as it rang a little long. They were friendly and gave a time estimate of 40 minutes. I ordered one of the giant pizzas with 2 toppings and a salad.Time got away from me and they called at like 42 minutes. I appreciated it and let them know I was almost there. Picked up the pizza and salad and took it back to the office. It was pretty good and definitely better than just going for a Costco pizza. I'll be back the next time I'm in this situation.

Good thin NY type pizza's great for small or huge pizzas....also good price and nice people.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I called this morning to schedule a delivery for 2 pizzas. The Neanderthal that answered the phone was surly and communicated as if talking wasn't his specialty. To be clear, sentence fragments and grunts would convey more information than what I got on this call. I explained that I wanted to order 2 pizzas and have them delivered to my daughter's school. I asked if he delivered there (it says on their website that they deliver for free within Clairemont). Again, communication was challenging, but I gave him the address and he went on to ask what kind of pizzas I wanted to order. Any normal person would think we are good to go with delivery at this point as he took my order and credit card info. This "gentleman" told me we were all set and attempted to hang up. I stopped him and asked him how much the pizzas were. Silence for several seconds before he grunted $72 into the phone. I stopped him and said there must be a misunderstanding because I did not want $72 worth of pizzas. He said that I told him I wanted 28" which is a flat out lie because I didn't even know that one of the pizza sizes was 28". When I told him I was interested in the 16", which were a more modest $14/pie he got all pissed at me and told me he won't deliver unless I buy the 28" pies. I told him that I would like to cancel the order and he hung up on me like a loser. I wonder how businesses like this stay open while hard working business men and women often have to close. The customer service that I dealt with today was disgusting and grotesque, to be kind. Don't waste your time with these fools. There are plenty of places that will value your business and treat you with respect. This place is a clown show.

THIS IS VERY DELICIOUS PIZZA!!! Quality ingredients, I loved the white pizza, especially the variety cheeses on top. Yes he may be a little short on the phone, but delivery time was accurate and the pizza was piping hot when it arrived. Also the pizza was definitely giant! Thank you

I've been in San Diego on business for a week and hadn't had a single good meal until we came here. We had 2 different pizzas that were both delicious with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. We also ordered salads that were full of greens and veggies and not just tasteless iceburg lettuce. What a quaint little family-owned business with great food and even beer customer service. Highly recommend!
