Nova Sushi Bar & Asian Bistro

A great local sushi place in Buckhead. The menu takes into account all those who accompany sushi eaters but won't eat it themselves. Service was great. The server was helpful and polite. She took good care of us. The ambience... it's nice. They recently updated, I think. I remember red booths and now they're white. No matter, the place is intimate in the sense that it isn't large but seems to do well. They do takeout and most if not all delivery services. This is a bonus. I'll return. Enjoy!

I had a perfectly underwhelming lunch here. I had high hopes and was really craving Thai food and sushi so this seemed like the perfect spot. I couldn't overlook the lunch specials so I got a hibachi steak lunch and a tempura bento lunch. They were both just ok. The tempura batter had no seasoning. The sauce on the steak also was less flavorful than expected. The deals are good, but I probably won't come back. Service was friendly.

My friend and I were craving sushi and thought it would be great to revisit Nova since we hadn't been in a while! Though it was 8pm, it was pretty lively inside with patrons and to-go orders however we were still seated promptly. I decided to try something new this time and got the tuna roll with cucumber and Crispy Salmon Roll. The tuna roll is a basic roll but I was pleased with the amount of fish they give you. It was meaty and fresh without being too fishy. The Crispy Salmon roll was good as well, the tempura was crispy and the cream cheese gave it a good creaminess. My only critique is despite the sauce it was a little flavorless. Getting eel sauce and spicy Mayo sauce on the side helped but I wa surprised it didn't have a little more flavor. Our waitress was very attentive and service was quick. I'd definitely recommend anyone looking for a quick bite to give them a try.

This place is in a strip mall. The strip mall has two levels which makes it almost impossible to see the venue from the street. The parking lot can be busy if the other establishments are open. I came during a weekday night and there were plenty of parking.I was immediately sat at the bar. Bar space is pretty cramped so I would suggest a table if you came with others. They had plenty of Uber Eats and Door Dash orders being picked up while I was there so it is popular.The waitress was very attentive and recommended some good sushi rolls to me. The sushi chefs are right behind the bar and you can see them make the sushi. I got an Alaskan roll, chef choice - looked like sashimi, and Buckhead roll. All the rolls tasted great but I liked the Alaskan roll the most.

I come here strictly for their lunch special. This was my first time at the Buckhead location as I normally frequent the midtown one. Just as good quality (or dare I say it? A little better) but a smaller space for sure. There's plenty of free parking in the lot attached to it which is a plus. I opted to get the Alaska roll, spicy salmon, and spicy scallops. I got two rolls last time and wasn't full because the lunch special rolls come with 6 vs 8 so I opted to get three and I'm glad I did. I'd probably get 2 next time if I'm not super hungry tho.

Came here on a lovely date and we both enjoyed ourselves! Food was fresh and tasted amazing. We both left full and happy. Service was a tad bit slow and something about the restaurant design feels a bit outdated compared to the Nova-II , but still had a nice time here!

Their sushi rolls are always fresh and the flavors are perfectly balanced. They have a wide variety of options to choose from and they never disappoint.Their kitchen entrees are also delicious. I've tried their teriyaki chicken, lo mein, stir fry and all of them were amazing. The portions are generous and the ingredients are always fresh. The prices are reasonable too, considering the quality and taste of the food.The staff at Nova are also very friendly and welcoming. They always make sure that their customers are well taken care of and have a great dining experience.Overall, I highly recommend Nova to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Japanese cuisine. It's one of my go-to spots for a satisfying meal, lucky for me they're located super close.

We live in walking distance of Nova and decided one Friday evening to check it out on recommendation of neighbors. There were things that were great and other aspects that could be improved. This review covers both! There is parking right out front which is nice. When my husband and I walked in we were greeted quickly and seated. It's a smallish casual place but has an extensive menu that goes WAY beyond sushi. Honestly everything sounded so good it was hard to choose. I ordered hot green tea which came in a tumbler but was tempted by the hot house sake. Appetizer we settled on was vegetable tempura. There were about 6 different veggies. The onion ring and broccoli were our favorites. After that the service fell off a bit. I ordered hibachi chicken and stir fry with a side of white rice that came from the kitchen quickly. My husband ordered a firecracker chicken (aka hot) dish that did not come until 5-8 minutes later. We ate on my dish until his came. I can't recall that happening anywhere we've eaten in quite a long time. There was no explanation or apology. On the bright side, he says dish was seasoned with just the right heat that he had requested. He's picky about that so Nova gets top marks for that. My entree was good but nothing exceptional. We took home leftovers. Will we return? Probably though I would pick up carryout.

So it's in my neighborhood so I figure I would give it a shot. It's not super big but just big enough. It can help plenty of people and they have a full bar as well. Parking is free because it's in a complex with other things so you don't have to worry about that.You come and have to wait at the door and then no seat you. It was actually fairly quick. It took a minute to get him in you and to get somebody over but after that it was smooth sailing. They were nice and friendly and I had no issues.I tried the chicken hibachi with fried rice and I tried to spicy shrimp and spicy crab roll. The sushi is $7 a roll basically so I thought I would give it a shot just because. It's a sushi bar after all so I feel like it should be good lol. The food was pretty good. I don't have any complaints. As for a little spice and it didn't have as much spices I wanted to on the hibachi, but that was not the end of the world. It was still good and still tasty.
