Nouveau Bar & Grill

I had a great time at Nouveau Bar & Grill on Saturday night. The atmosphere was nice and chill, and it wasn't too crowded, but the hostess was gonna sit us in between two tables that have already been seated . Although there were open tables through the restaurant. so I decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was super nice and informative. She suggested the spinach dip and jerk wings as an appetizer, and they did not disappoint - four whole wings came with the order. Mango salsa came with the wings but I didn't like the combination of it with the wings. For my main course, I got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo pasta. The pasta usually comes with shrimp too but I got that taken off. It was really good and the portion size was generous. I couldn't finish it all after having the wings. I also tried the Holy Water and Watermelon Savage drinks, and both were delicious.One thing to note is that they add a gratuity charge on orders of $50 or more. After paying the bill, the bartender gave us two complimentary shots, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'll definitely be going back!

Food... Tasty! Service... Slow, but good. Reservation was made for a larger party (12 for a birthday) for 2PM on a Saturday, and they were able to accommodate us with room to spare. Seated at 2:15, since we had a few late arrivals. Drink orders were taken rather quickly, but we didn't place food orders until 2:50, so 35 mins after waiting 15 mins to be seated. Food arrived to the table about 3:40, and the table was cleared by 4:20 with virtually every plate empty. Everyone enjoyed their food, and the drinks were all complimented too. I would've liked a refill, actually. I'd come back knowing the music volume fluctuates seemingly based on how many people are singing along. I'd also note, it's some plates, although good, are a bit overpriced.

Saturday, I made reservations for 2 at 5:45 pm. Upon arrival, we were seated right at the entrance. It was pretty empty on both sides, and we didn't feel comfortable sitting near the door. I asked the hostess if we could sit on the other side of the restaurant or the open tables on the opposite wall and she said no unless we wait for a larger party to come so we can be seated together blah blah blah.... it made no sense, so I honestly stopped listening. After being seated, it took over 10 minutes for our waitress to stop at our table to greet us. Once again, it was not busy, but she was attending to a party of 6 behind us, who I must say were EXTREMELY loud. While waiting, we had time to asset the restaurant. The place seemed clean at a glance; however, there was a lingering oder. It smelled like they moped the floor with old dirty mop water. That's the best way to describe it. We were seated near the patio door and spotted the mop buckets on the side of the wall. The side we were seating on wasn't anything esthetically appealing about it. Our wall had chipped paint, no conversation pieces and didn't seem inviting. We were extremely uncomfortable while there....the wait for everything was unacceptable along with the loud aunties that were louder than the music ( and the music was so loud). I couldn't really hear my bf who was sitting directly across from me. So it's loud, smelly, HOT and we're hungry... That's a bad combination all around!Now, let's talk about the food.... We ordered deviled eggs for the appetizer. Very basic and blan... I honestly don't understand the hype and wouldn't order it again. For my main dish, I ordered the seafood grits, and it was really good and full of crab meat. My only regret was not requesting extra sauce because it was a little dry for my liking towards the middle of the grits. Other than that, it was on point. My bf ordered the glaze salmon with Mac & Cheese and spinach it was cooked perfectly. No complaints from either of us! We ordered drinks, but the waitress forgot, and by the time she stopped by our table again, we were ready to leave, so I told her to disregard. Let me say this, she was extremely apologetic because she knew she dropped the ball several times and wasn't attentive to our table. What sucks is even with bad service, a 18% gratitude is automatically charged because we spent over $50. It's not fair to customers to reward a person for bad services. Where is the incentive to deliver excellent customer service to patrons to guarantee their return? OH and how can I forget to mention it was HOT. They had a fan blowing but it didn't reach where we were seated. (Heavy sigh)We were eager to leave because of the noise, smell and the heat. So we packed up our food and went to Aye Tea Elle for drinks, comfortable conversation, and excellent customer service. If I returned (that's a big IF), I would just do a to-go order because the food was good, no cap!

Came on game day and its a bit on the loud side today. Food was fresh and service was quick.

Arrived for our reservation and we were seated right away. JB our server came right over and took drink orders. He was very friendly and took good care of us throughout our meal checking in several times. We started with fried asparagus with a slightly spicy dipping sauce and the spinach dip. We also ordered a couple cocktails. Our entrees followed. Food overall was tasty and portions generous. I will say that everything arrived hot and fresh. For me, the wings were a little too well done but still juicy but I know that's an Atl preference. Next time I'd ask them to not fry hard!And special shout out to the spinach dip which was fantastic! I could have made a meal out of that by itself. Lastly, and this is my personal opinion there is an 18% "service fee" added to every check. Call it what it is -gratuity! No need to add a tip line if you've already decided for me what I should tip! Left to my own devices I'd have tipped at 20% but this new way of policing non tippers irks me personally!

Visited twice for brunch. Made reservations both times although we missed our first reservations by 15 minutes and lost our table, they were still able to sit us at the bar which was nice. We had great service both times. Not sure if it's always been a thing, but the second time there was a service fee on our check. Normally I see it when there's larger parties, but we were just a party of two. When we went back to double check the menu about it, it just said a % is added to every check no matter what. Not sure if that's them automatically adding gratuity or not since it just said service charge. We tried the bottomless mimosas ($25 pp) but they're pre-mixed in a large container so they were very, very flat. The food was FANTASTIC, we'd go back just because of it.

Came in after riding through. Was seated pretty quickly for it to have been Friday afternoon with no reservation. It did take a long time for the server to come over so by the time she did we just put our entire order in to save on additional time. The place is nice just tight with all the tables I think they could take a row out and be ok but understand trying to maximize space. The food overall was ok i would return again. We tried the spinach dip. It was different but wasn't bad. Also tried the po boy and the crab cakes. Seasoned well but the sauce on both was so hot as in spice and as someone that enjoys spicy food it was just too much. It took away from the the food after a while bc mouth just on fire. The cheesecake was good we got it to go since we had been in there a long time but it was tasty when we ate it.

Came here on Saturday night. It wasn't busy but that's probably because it was raining. The service was awesome, our server was Amari! Everything we had was absolutely delicious! We had to pay $20 for our outside cake, but they brought it out like we ordered a bottle at the club. So definitely worth it! The music was chill and relaxed and the bathroom was clean.

Everything we tried was delicious- shrimp po boy, fried asparagus, chicken and waffle, buffalo shrimp, deviled eggs. But for me, the standout was the chicken and waffle- one of the best I've ever had. Service was a bit slow, but not too bad, and the ambience was nothing special. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal!

Definitely a good brunch spot to visit if you want good food! We visited prior to the dj starting on Sunday, but overall the food and the server were great!!
