Everything was delicious. The service was wonderful hashbrowns were crispy and Great fluffy pancakes. The biscuits and gravy were OK . But it's only bc I think the biscuits were not fresh made, which was disappointing. And the gravy had cubes of sweet not savory meat, which made the flavor of the gravy not spicy. No real kick, but I bet someone with sensitivity to spice would like this soft breakfast meal. Bring in a newspaper and leave it for others to read as they don't have newspaper boxes outside anymore.

I grew up in the neighborhood since a baby. This place is gone through different owners over the decades. Before I moved up to the suburbs 20 years ago, I had an apartment right across the street from the Norwood. It was owned by an Armenian family and the food was okay, nothing spectacular but nothing horrible. The owner and the family that ran the place really were not personable at all. I used to go there out of convenience because it was a walk right across Northwest Highway. Fast forward to today I went there out of convenience because they have convenient parking in the back rather than the street. I was just looking for something quick with a friend and had never been here since the current owners took over. The first thing that I want to mention which is worth mentioning is that as soon as we walked in the place, it smelled like marijuana. Now it really doesn't offend me at all. But, this is a very family orientated neighborhood and there was a couple in there with a baby. I'm not sure how they felt. Or how other people would feel. I know if I had a restaurant in Northwest side of Chicago, which is loaded with cops and firemen. I think the last thing I would want to do is present my business to be a place perhaps employees smoking marijuana in the kitchen or wherever. It was pretty strong. So, I'll move on to the food review potion.Boy was I disappointed. This place might be fine for breakfast. I don't know. I haven't eaten breakfast here in 20 years. But again under the new ownership, things have certainly changed. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich that had cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato on it. The chicken was flattened, pretty thin and over cooked. it was so tough and dry. The person that I was with couldn't believe the texture of this chicken. I had asked for mashed potatoes on the side as I'm trying to avoid fried foods. What I got instead was over buttered smashed up hash browns to look like mashed potatoes, served in a mound like mash potatoes do. But you can literally see the shreds in this. I had a couple of bites and didn't touch it. I have never in my life been served mashed potatoes that was recycled hashbrowns. I don't know what the owner or cook is thinking. As far as the waitress, she was fine. Had no issues.I really don't like giving negative reviews to local businesses as I know it's hard to run a business like this nowadays post Covid. But, taking some shortcuts like not serving real mashed potatoes (or even boxed), even though it's on the menu. I don't think this business will last much longer if this is the way they'll operate on a regular basis. Hopefully they'll find their way.

My friend and I went and had breakfast here today and it was empty at 10:00 on a Saturday morning! Which was very bizarre, We did not know whether to stay or leave the waitress kept hounding us to order like look around lady it's a ghost town what the rush!!!! So we ignored her and just kept talking as she kept yelling we have a reservation coming soon lol. I said oh boy it's going to be packed soon to will leave in peace.Oh no here comes the reservation a whooping 4 total I was like you gotta be kidding me. The food was like we were on Weight Watchers or maybe we were given the ghost menu creepy place to go to. We will not be going back there again. We try to support locals but when it's like this not our cup of tea. Not a good recommended place to go.

Great cozy hidden restaurant, it's small and a local favorite. My first time at location, and it didn't disappoint. My son love the pancakes, and the hash browns they were cooked just like we ask. I tried the meat lovers skillet and added mushrooms to it. The skillet was great comes with two eggs of your choice, and it has potatoes in it already. The skillet is pretty big so come with some appetite, it also comes with a choice of toast or pancakes. The skillet was cooked just perfect, and the coffee was nice an hot. The service was great, our waitress was super nice and friendly.

Ordered the French toast breakfast w/ strawberries. When my food came to my table there was a big piece of string on my French toast. I told the waitress & her response was it came from the egg batter A PIECE OF STRING like string from some kind of rope. As she's twiddling it in her fingers she says it came from egg batter. She offered to replace it but I was no longer interested. Instead of her taking it off my bill she gave me a discount of $4. I just thought it was nasty & tacky. In my opinion if a customer finds anything on their plate that isn't apart of the meal, it should be taken off the bill completely. NOT DISCOUNTED. It's cleanliness & etiquette. I won't ever return. They need to do better.

$20 for breakfast for one(after tax & tip). Nothing fancy. No extra sides. Just coffee and a corned beef hash skillet. That's just to expensive for this neighborhood

I live in this neighborhood. I really want Norwood Diner to be a great little breakfast place. I have given it so many chances. How does the waitress serve food that is visibly horrible?? Burnt bacon, runny eggs, unmelted cheddar cheese, battery pancakes. Just awful. Every time I decide to give it one more chance they are worse than the last time. FIRE the cook. Sell to someone who gives a damn! This place could be a gold mine but instead, it is an over priced ruined morning. So frustrating!!
