Love this place! The food is wonderful and fresh. I don't feel guilty stopping in for a bite, because I can also pick up some groceries. The grocery store has more international items. Explore new or familiar foods! I always leave having over eaten and buying too many things.

Extremely rude cashiers and manager- even worse. The price on a box of cookies was lower than what they rung up on the register. I pointed it out to the cashier and she gave the box of cookies to the manager to check. He took a whole 10 minutes, came back and didn't even look at me. Then continued speaking to the cashier in their own language. Finally the cashier turned to me and said "he doesn't know." Whatever that means. I returned those cookies right away. Never coming back to this place. Worst customer service ever!

On a recent visit, the male cashier had AirPods in and was not friendly in the least when I went through the checkout, which prompted me to write this review. I stop here from time to time for unusual items, English chocolate bars, tea, jam, produce, cookies, flat bread or spices. It's nice to have the variety in the local area, but with narrow aisles and so-so customer service it's not the best 'experience'. Sometimes the produce doesn't look that great. I don't fancy the meat. I also feel a bit self-conscious being in the minority there. Plenty of parking.

Beware they sell expired products!!!"If you ever suspect you were sold spoiled food, you may report it locally. Contact the California Department of Public Health through its website, or by calling 916-558-1784. The CDPH has authority to investigate stores for selling rotten products."I found a lot of expired products (including baby food) in this store. I tried to get the cashier's attention and ask for the manager, but she completely ignored me and told me" don't buy it then, someone else will buy it".Update: Just reported them to Better Business Bureau: https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/poway/profile/bulk-food-store/north-park-produce-1126-42001166California Department of Public Health https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CEH/DFDCS/Pages/FDBPrograms/FoodSafetyProgram/ConsumerComplaint.aspx

Not really a fan of this place but the only place locally that carries specialty ethnic food for some of my dishes. Unfortunately it's not very clean, produce doesn't look fresh and employees there aren't very friendly or helpful either. I try to avoid going there when I can and would rather drive 15-20 more minutes south to get what I need but this is convenient to me location wise so when I don't have the time I come here. Wish we had more options in this area! 3 stars though for the decent size selection of spices and specialty foods.

Please differentiate between the restaurant side and the market side when you are looking at current reviews. The restaurant side is excellent. Nothing to compare.

In my opinion, this is the best Middle Eastern grocery market in the San Diego area. Easy drive, easy parking, relatively wide isles, clean, and not too crowded. The market seems to focus on Iranian items but, other than tahini bread, could find all the items I was looking for. There is an attached bakery where you can get lunch or limited choices of bread and flatbreads.

We visit the North Park Produce - bakery/restaurant -- in Poway once a week for their Falafel Sandwich. It used to be the best in San Diego County. However, they changed the quality by now making it only on pita bread instead of middle eastern bread and made it small while increased the price from $6 to $10. They now put three falafel instead of five. So, the quality is gone down and price has gone up. Also, they are often out of spicy sauce that make the sandwich taste middle eastern. Of course no remorse is expressed when they can not provice the product, quality or service. We might just not go to this palce any more unless they bring back the original falfel sandwich on the middle eastern bread. It is good for other food perhaps. So, buyer be aware.
