Authentic northern Chinese food here. Would recommend stopping by! Huge portions too. We had leftovers for lunch the next day. Fish with tofu - 5/5Dumplings house - 5/5

Minimal food options menu and mediocre taste are what best describes North for me. We were disappointed. The pickled cabbages noodles soup with pork blood, their signature dish, was overly sour, feels like slurping vinegar. The tofu sheets with jalapeños was lack of flavor, very bland. The sweet pork was strange. Meat was so dry that it has no texture.The gentleman who served our table noticed my kiddo did not eat. I didn't say that my hungry kiddo couldn't chew that dry cardboard pork, so I just politely said it was too early for his supper. The gentlemen kept commenting on it a few more times that we were all annoyed. Strange experience for us.

I wanted to highlight a neighborhood spot and one of the few places in the Seattle area that offers Northeast Chinese cuisine. The food was good and authentic. I tried the double cooked pork and the stir fry potato, eggplant, and peppers. Both were great and the pork had such an addicting taste. It's definitely on the pricier side but that's the reality of the present. Definitely will be back to try more things.

Service was fast and we got our order taken and food very quickly. First off, I love that they have black vinegar on the table because we are a vinegar household and I added it to just about every dish we ordered. The noodles with soybean paste were SO GOOD. The noodles were chewy, veggies added a fresh crunch and had a lovely balance of sweet, sour and salty. My favorite dish and nothing I would change. The stir fried pickle bok choy dish threw me off because I was expecting just stir fried vegetables but it also came with noodle. This dish was not up my alley. I thought it was too oily and would have been better in a broth. The Szechuan fish fillets were also very oily, not sure if that's the style but I had to scoop some of the oil out. The fish fillet was cooked nicely though and had good flavor. I have been meaning to try this spot ever since it replaced Shanghai Cafe. There is a lot of potential in this restaurant! Would like to see them tone down the oiliness of some of their dishes. All in all, I look forward to trying other dishes here!

Seriously the worst Beef Noodle Soup and Scallion Noodles. I never thought Chinese Beef noodle soup and scallion noodles could taste this bad . The employees are nice but the food was terrible .

Our group went into North pretty much blind only a few weeks (maybe days?) after they opened, and boy, were we blown away by the food!!! I occasionally have a tough time with certain regional Chinese cuisines, but everything at North was incredible.- Double Cooked Pork Slice | This dish seemed so familiar, but was so new to me at the same time. The flavors/textures were really interesting, and I'd totally order this again.- Stir Fried Tomato w/ Eggs | Somehow I'd never had this dish until North, but I have some crazy high standards now, because it was SO delicious here!- Stir Fried Eggplant Potato & Pepper| Delicious! The eggplant was the perfect texture, along with everything else in the dish. This was a favorite at our table of 3.- House Special Dumplings | Honestly, you can skip these. I'm convinced so much of the rest of their menu is a hit that you really don't need to order these, which were average at best.I'm excited to come back here and explore more of their menu!

This place has the best Guo Bao Rou I've ever had, make sure you ask for the old style where they use sugar and vinegar instead of ketchup. The servers were very nice and accommodating, will top off your water constantly. The restaurant was nice and clean, wasn't large in any means, but dining experiences were very comfortable. Will recommend anyone to go if you like authentic northern Chinese cuisine.

I edited the review in order to reply to the owner. I didn't say your beef was bad quality, I just expressed my opinion that the soup was salty and flavorless. Short of staff was not the reason of serving noodle with cold meat. Thanks!Small portion and pretty expensive. Menu was a bit different. They don't serve cold dishes now. Instead of braised beef noodle soup, they have beef rib noodle soup and it was flavorless but very salty. Soup color was very dark. Barely tasted beef flavor. Rib was still cold inside. 6 hand made dumplings for $8-12 which was really pricey.I am from northern mainland China and was really disappointed.

Authentic eatery with generous portions! The service was great, and we started with braised pork ears and homemade dumplings. The pork ears were cut too thick for my liking and the dumpling filling was dry for my taste. The star of our table was the Pickled Bok Choy and Pork Belly. The tangy taste of the bok choy complemented the rich but clear broth and the pork belly melted in my mouth while retaining its juiciness. The glass noodles at the bottom was a nice surprise as well!We also got the Braised Beef Noodle Soup: while portions were generous and the soup was delicious with a nice kick, the beef was a little tough for my taste and the noodles weren't as chewy as I would have liked.Overall, a nice find and had such a good value for its location, would come again, but try some of the other dishes on the menu!

The food is authentic. I really like the hand made dumplings which tastes so much better than those machine-made ones from a lot of dumpling places. The dishes also taste good. I recommend 酸菜猪肉饺子,溜肉段,哈尔滨红肠,锅包肉
