After thinking about what to eat for dinner one day with some friends, we landed on going to Zion Market to try out some of the food at their food court as 2/3 of us have never been. My friend said she liked the jjiajangmyeon here, and I usually eat this at other restaurants when its available so I decided to give it a try and see. There's a half circle of different restaurant stalls on the right half of Zion - was a little sad to see a big group of people crowding the place that sold jjiajangmyeon and not many customers at the other locations, but I guess that's competition for you. Jjiajangmyeon ($7.99): First of all, that price is amazing! I think places I go to are asking for at least $11.99+ for the same size bowl. They have a little side bucket of radish for customers to grab to eat along with their meal. I absolutely LOVE the thickness and chewiness of their noodles! The flavor is definitely different from other restaurants' jiajangmyeon but I didn't mind it - it was delicious in its own way. Good portion size - I had leftovers for another lunch for a different day. I will say I wish there were more ingredients in the sauce.

Excellent food, nice staff, and very consistent quality. Highly recommeded for especially for the jjamppong, which is spicy and smoky and yummy. I've sampled jjamppong in SD and LA, and also had it in Korea, and what they make here is right up there w/any of the best I've had. !!

I love Korean Food and Zion Market is basically a Korean Food Court. I ordered the jjamppong and it was pretty good. I've never had it before so I can't compare the dish to anything else. There was bits of seafood, a lot of veggies, and noodles. The broth was super spicy and delicious. For $8.25 the portion was huge. I wanted to try other items but I wasn't sure what was in the black bean sauce. I also noticed that they make items that aren't on the menu that is posted. I saw this person pick up an item that was fried and covered with white stuff, which I soon figured out was fried pork. If I had seen that on the menu, I would of ordered it. Service was good, I love how they have a number log on the top next to the menu that shows which order is ready to go. That is super helpful and you don't have to wait for someone to yell your number. Definitely coming back to try other food items!

There's one three-letter word for this place: YUM! Google was my dictionary for their menu (I'm not fluent in Korean) and, after the research, I was super excited to try something. As I sat there, trying to make a decision, more and more hungry customers happily retrieved their large steaming bowls. And then, there's the glimpse of the mountain of fried pork - what the what?! Husband has to try that next time we're here!Based on reviews, I settled on the seafood stir-fried noodles (to go - no extra charge). This is literally the first time the "umami" was so off the charts - I was speechless! The texture of noodles was spectacular.Definitely recommend this place; we'll be back!

Located inside Zion Market - good location and huge parking lot! Perfect place to shop and also grab food here. Dropped by here for a quick lunch to eat during the weekend. My review is solely for black bean noodle dish for around $7. I have been hunting for a place that has good black bean noodles as I grew up on that back in NY. This time...I was disappointed, like many of the other times at the other places that I have so far tried in San Diego. Presentation was nice, but there was barely an meat. Majority of the time I felt like I was eating a lot of grease along with onions. Portion was definitely huge. But tasted extremely watered down when I had it. So...goes back to my hunt for delicious black bean noodles.I also did not like the fact that if you wanted it to go it would cost a extra $1 and if you had leftovers it would be $0.50 a box. Must have been because I have grown up so used to getting take out boxes when we have something left over. Not very keen on coming again for the black bean noodle dish. Maybe something else.On the plus side, they do give water which is located right behind their counter to your right after you order.

This is inside Zion's food court. They do have indoor seating, it's spread out and limited. I really like the black bean noodles at this location. It's only like $8 for a bowl and it comes with the yellow radish. It's pretty delicious! It's usually thick sauce with the noodles but mine were a little runny but still really delicious. And you can get some boba and pastries afterwards in the same food court.

I discovered Noodle J-I inside Zion supermarket when I initially wanted tofu soup. I saw their awesome photo on the menu then I thought to give it a try. I am glad that I did! I ordered their most popular spicy seafood noodles. The portion is huge! The bowl came with lots of mussels, squid pieces, and bits of meat. The noodle was really good! Soft but acceptable. I usually like noodles to be thicker with some texture but their was good with the seafood soup. It also has cabbage, green onion, white onions, carrots, and wood ears. Overall, very exciting bowl of spicy seafood noodle, except it's not that spicy. I ordered for a medium level of spicy so I will try spicy next time. It's a perfect bowl of noodles with it's a rainy day out!

Every time I go to Zion's food court, I go here. I've never had a bad dish and they serve HUGE portions. Both are pluses in my book! My favorite dishes are the jjamppong and the jjajangmyeon. I've only been to a handful of Korean restaurants in San Diego, so I know I'm ignorant as to where to find these dishes, but if I'm in the mood for either, I just lazily go here.During the weekends and lunch hour this place is pretty packed; otherwise if you go on a weeknight there isn't much traffic AT ALL. Come here on an empty stomach!

It was the first time I had the jjambong, so I don't really have a reference point for the dish, specifically, but overall, I guess it was pretty good. Seafood and bits of pork on a bed of noodles, in a spicy chili paste soup. They give you a LARGE portion; i think I could have had it for three meals! The complimentary pickled yellow radish on the side was nice, the extra $1 charge for To Go items, and $0.50 extra for a box for leftovers was not. There was a hot/cold water stand behind the cashier that was available for customers. And seating is in the open food court. It can get pretty crowded on a weekend, during lunch hour. The customer service was average.

I got the regular black bean noodles here and they didn't disappoint. They come with yellow pickled radish and the serving size is very generous. I went back for the same black bean noodles and sweet and sour pork to-go and they back it very carefully so it doesn't get soggy traveling.
