I have high hope before I came to this reatuarant, especially knowing it's from the folks from wasabi and their previous yakitori venture in arlington height. What I can say is, this place is not up to par if you are looking for some quality yakitori or japanese skewer. Every skewers are over powered by the sauce and seasoning, and they are very OVERCOOKED especially on the hanger steak and beef tongue. Everything is very salty even for japanese izakaya standard. For the price they charge, I expect better quality. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to say I would rather eat at taco bell or McD chicken nugget, I'm comparing japanese skewers at TenGoku Aburiya for example. The service was ok in general, but the server that took our order could use a smile and learning a thing or two from the other servers in the restaurant. Spent $220 for our dinner with 2 adults and 2 kids, I'd say I can definitely find better offering else where.

Intimate restaurant, with a cozy interior. It took us a while to get seated, while we were greeted at the door the servers were very busy with the customers. It took us ~10 mins to be talked to once we got in and then we were seated shortly after. It also took a while for a server to come to our table. The food was okay, we tried various skewers and got some ramen. I tried the tori Noodle soup with udon, and my friends all got the Tan Tan. They all found it to be much spicier than they thought it would be. My ramen was pretty good, I was hoping to try the Vegan Yaki but it was sold out. It was still decent but not sure if we'll be coming back.

The only thing this place has going for it are the yakitori and kushiyaki. Creamy uni udon was meh. The udon with wagyu had no flavor according to my son. Karaage was just like chicken wings. Chicken don was bland also. Stick with booze and skewers and you'll be happy.

It was a bitterly cold night when we went to Nomonomo to celebrate my son's birthday. Like most restaurants, when the door opened, the cold factor intensified.Although it was colder than we'd like, Nomonomo is a fascinating restaurant, It's has fewer tables than I expected, and lots of seats at the bar. The menu is available on your phone after scanning a QR Code. They have appetizers, small plates, and a few entrees. That night, we sampled. Before getting into the food, I need to say the service was outstanding. Our server made asked us questions, then made suggestions. He stopped to check on us throughout the evening, and was fun.First things first, he suggested a sake, which we tried. It was very warm (nice for a cold night, and quite good. For our appetizers we had edamame and wild mushrooms. The edamame were good; the mushrooms were outrageous! The small plates were Negima, Momo, Shishito Peppers, Kurobuta Sausages (two orders), and Ume Shiso Tsukune - all delicious. We were hungry when we arrived so I didn't think to take any pictures until the dishes were finished. Trust me, the presentation was beautiful.By that time, I was done - full. The rest of the table ordered their lava cake and loved it.This was one of the nicer Japanese fusion restaurants we've tried. Parking is terrible so take a cab or an Uber. We will return on a warmer day.

I loved the uni creamy udon. It was quite rich and tasty. Tako wasabi is a must try for foodies. It's raw octopus in wasabi. Service was great and atmosphere is down to earth but classy.

Came to another of these hip sushi places for a dinner. It's only open for dinner times so it's kind of limited. Nononomo is a pretty nice place conveniently close to the California and Western Blue Line stations. For sure this area attracts lots of hipsters. The prices are actually pretty good considering the portions and quality. After going by here a few times, we made plans to come. It wasn't that busy inside. The place has a low key classy hipness to it, a cool vibe. As for what to eat, we thought to get a bowlthe first time being here. I got the Vegan Udon Noodle Bowl, which was a lot. It's about $15 but almost worth it though. Had a lot in it. There were big pieces of tofu. Have to make an update about this business. It seems to have closed. The doors have been locked and it says it has been "temporary closed" forever seemingly on the website.

Very good Udon noodle dishes and the portions are fairly sized for the price. Skewers are expensive but tasty. Happy hour has some good deals too. Attentive, friendly service and a cool Japanese pub vibe make this place well worth the visit.

Finally a good Yakitori spot in Chicago! I really enjoyed the izakaya style they are going for. All the skewers we ordered were good in general. But my favorite were negima and momo. I wish they can expand the menu a little bit (It'll be nice to have enoki or eel on there!). Cocktails and sakes are on point as well. Highly recommend the Ume-Shiso. It reminded me of the Ume drink from Kumiko!

As I love to indulge myself in Japanese culture, I had to give it a try. I've tried a great number of ramen spots, but none of them stuck out to me like this place. One of my favorite Japanese Grills by far.Nomo Nomo is a cozy Japanese izakaya spot in Logan Square; almost hidden in the side of the building. Be sure to expect it to be packed around the evening; reservations are advisable. I was lucky enough to be seated right away. The ambiance is very nice, such a calm welcome from the servers as well. QR codes for the menu are smart. I ordered edamame, rice, wagyu, and ramen. It wasn't a long time waiting for my food, maybe thirty minutes. Japanese spots like this can usually take a while, but not here though. Nothing impressive the rice and edamame, its pretty average. Still pleasant to be served before the main course. Wagyu was very good; melt-in-your-mouth tenderness and a rich savory flavor. The price wasn't exaggerated for what you get; I believe it was around twenty-eight dollars. I'd give it a nine out of ten, the accompanying sauce complemented it perfectly. I only came ready to eat ramen if I'm honest, but it was all a nice add-on to my first experience. Ramen wasn't served stupid hot like other places (not that it was lukewarm), it was just perfect. The broth was excellent, the different flavors were in complete harmony. Perfectly cooked noodles and no excessive toppings, just the right amount. A good portion of noodles may I add. BEST RAMEN I'VE HAD. For the price of nineteen dollars. I truly mean that not being paid to say this. Nine point five out of ten for the beautiful work of ramen that was made for me. From the chicken being perfectly cooked to the broth, the flavors just made sense. I don't believe anything was overpriced, especially the ramen. Service was always attending us and is well trained. The only thing they took a minute on was the check, but likely due to the busy server attending to other tables. I do think they are a tiny bit understaffed, they're constantly multi-tasking. They're all well-experienced and attentive. They're always around to serve you while having the best attitude in a restaurant I've been to. Nomonomo is an exceptional Japanese culinary experience. The attentive service, reasonable pricing, and, most importantly, outstanding ramen make it a must-visit for enthusiasts. While there's room for improvement in terms of wait times and check processing, these are overshadowed by the overall quality of the dining experience. Pay a visit to Nomonomo, I know I'll return.

Service was good. Ambiance was on point. The shishito pepper was recommended by the waiter but I didn't enjoy it. My favorite was the beef short rib. Overall, the taste wasn't worth the price. We ended up eating more at a different place afterwards.
