Sat in the rooftop area, definitely a good ambiance and a great view of downtown chicago. The staff was definitely professional very helpful. Service was a little slow even though the were few guests in the space.Great signature cocktails and the food is consistent to the usual Nobu menu. If it's your first time I highly recommend that you try the crispy rice with spicy tuna, wagyu sliders, and or the yellowtail.

Was excited to try this place considering it's notoriety of quality and consistent dishes across all of it's locations. We had reservations and were sat immediately. The restaurant had a modern artistic look to it and appeared very classy. It wasn't too loud either.First up were cocktails and the lychee martini was so good we ordered another for dessert. It was very smooth and had a pleasant taste. Many of the menu items were offered as small plates so we were happy that we could try multiple things off the menu and not get overwhelmingly full. We started with the shishito peppers as an appetizer and then followed up with a cold dish and a warm dish. Our cold dish was the crispy rice with spicy tuna. It was a one-bite dish that was so delicious we wanted to order more but held off to be able to try other menu items haha. Our warm dish was the wagyu dumplings and they were just as good. For dessert, we ordered the warm date cake with gelato and it was unbelievable. I had never seen dates on a dessert menu and with it being made into a cake it was amazing! Our server was on top of everything. I accidentally spilled my drink at some point and he quickly cleaned it up for us and offered new napkins and drinks. He also gave us great suggestions for where to get drinks afterwards so we could continue the night.Overall, it was a beautiful place to enjoy dinner

Came here for a work dinner and the food is what it is... personally, I didn't think it was anything special for the price. I wouldn't come back here if I was spending my own $$- there's so many other amazing restaurants in the area that have bigger portions, better food and a better price tag. You're definitely just paying for the "Nobu" name to eat here which I totally get, but isn't for me. The only reason I'd come back here is to go to the rooftop to get a drink, but besides that I haven't had a reason to come back.

TL; DR: Great view from the rooftopNobu is a great place to sit and enjoy the view. I am not a huge fish person, so I just sipped on a cocktail. If you are like me, going for 1 drink and enjoying the view was great! If you do like fish, you will enjoy the menu selection too!

Corn is a no/never again and they still get 5 stars. The fried okra was even cold and they get 5 stars. I had to assemble my own tacos and THEY STILL GET 5 STARS! I don't even have to address the crispy rice I'm just going to thank God for it and ask that I'm also able to find room in the budget for it.

Came here for happy hour. The server was slow and ignored us, gave us a cheaper prices menu and then switched it out later. The food was just okay, good quality but taste was kind of off especially for the chicken karage. The salmon avocado maki was good, the tuna with crispy rice was okay but the tuna came out all mashed together. The ambiance in Nobu is nice, but all in all, would probably not come here for happy hour again, there are better places to go to spend your money.

***Caveat: I am most certainly out of my depth here, as a non Chicago Bulls/Liberty/Cubs/etc player, bc this place is pricey and a scene, but a great one :)I went last Sat with my brother & his gf... we had the good fortune of arriving at 4:58p (2 minutes before patio opened) without a reservation and talked (snuck) our way to the front of the line to grab a table with a great view on the outdoor patio on a perfect Chicago Spring afternoon (which has a slightly different menu than the main floor/dining area) - here are a few highlightsSips:1) Nobu old fashioned - smooth, perfectly square ice cube and finish/feel. My brother and I each opted for 2 of these2) Qui Espresso: had a sip of this, not typically an espresso martini drinker, but they managed to mask the tequila taste with the pineapple/cilantro/hint of orange, highly recommend for the martini espresso fans among usBites:1) Miso soup: brother & gf ordered and they swear by it2) Edamame: brother inhaled most of this before it being passed around the table, the large crystals of sea salt and delivered still hot seemed to be a plus3) Yellowtail jalapeno appetizer: fresh, crisp, the bite of the jalapeno not overpowering. Must try4) Shishito peppers: bathed in some soy/syrupy tasting marinade that escapes me, but very good5) A5 wagyu with truffle butter: somebody call my cardiologist bc I could eat this everydayOverall, 5/5 on food/service/ambiance and our good luck in catching a nice day to enjoy their amazing patio with sweeping views of downtown from the West Loop location

We stopped in for Happy Hour drinks and snacks and were well pleased.Nobu is known for delicious, very expensive, trendy sushi. I like those things but I am also fond of a bargain. We ordered sushi rolls ($3 off) and enjoyed some of the butteriest salmon ever. My cocktail was $12 instead of $19 (!!!) and was delicious. The food was great, the bartender was cool, my drink was good and the savings were present. All boxes checked.

I had a special time at Nobu Chicago. Although the bar was slow, one I sat for the real dinner, omakase at the sushi bar in the back... that was a special treat. Nobu ambiance was amazingly boujee in the best way. Our waiter even had a yellow tail jalapeño plate tattooed on his arm. Lol make a rez or go alone like me. You might end up having dinner with a complete stranger that also wanted to experience the magical and infamous Nobu. Yellow tail is a must. Misso cod, a must. A cocktail.. a must.Try as much as you can afford. It's all worth tasting before you die.
