The burritos they provide here are a great bang for you buck: one of the cheaper locations in OB and the burritos are packed and huge. I order their carne asada burrito and carne asada fries. The burrito was full of ingredients and the meat incredibly crispy. I'd recommend skipping the carne asada fries though: the toppings were excellent but the fries were a bit too salty. The burritos are the main start of the show here. The service is also wonderful: everyone was very nice as I waited and also patiently helped answer other guests' questions. This location is cash only - there's an ATM inside that does have a steeper service but there are also ATMs on the same street if you don't have a card that covers ATM fees. This place is great for takeout - but there's also plenty of seating around if you want to dine in (though very limited space outside).

Okay wow!! This is defffff my kind of taco shop. Born &. Raised in SD so I'm super picky w taco shops @ this point in my life & im 33 yrs old lol but i was searching for a new spot && i usually go to the Nico's in OB so i was assuming this place must be sister ownership but this one is way better than the OB location...My only luck in taco shops truly has been in San Marcos or vista area..i judge a taco shop by their breakfast burrito, cali burritos, & carne asada fries.. i got the bacon/egg/potato burrito with no cheese ( bc i always eat lime & jalapeño, cheese throws off that citrus flavor that i crave) and Wowwwwww .. i never finish my burritos and this one was like no other. I haven't had something so good like this in idk how long.. its pretty hit or miss with me & taco shops , im actually super curious to try other stuff on their menu. There are so many taco shops but this taco shop reminds me of real deal.. the kind of taco shop u brag to the rest of the country/world lol!!One more thing I judge a taco shop is their hot sauce , & drink selection. I got a Mexican coke (coke in glass bottle) i loved how simple it was here. You also grab hot sauce/jalapeño yourself which is traditional style prior to COVID!! I appreciate that. Their habanero will blow your head off btw be care ful.Lastly, That was the best pickled jalapeño & carrots i have eveer had also, like PERFEction.. and bomb ass limes too... grateful for spots like this..

Carne asada burrito $10.50 (plate with rice and beans $12.50), horchata, cheese only - yellow, red sauce good, private parking lot easy, near Tio Lieo's, inside booths a-ok, no flautas, carne asada flavorful but very salty, I ate 1/2 the burrito. Service and ambience a-ok.

I got a California burrito and was so disappointed. The carne asada is just not good. It is not grilled and if it is, then it is reheated instead of being grilled on the spot. The fries were soggy and there was hardly any cheese. The red salsa was really spicy and the green was a medium spice. There wasn't a lot of parking but then again there aren't a lot of seats and most people order to go.

Yikes. Just had an absolutely flavorless California Burrito. Yes, the fries were crunchy but they had no flavor. The carne asada definitely wasn't seasoned and was flavorless. It was a huge surprise and a disappointment but I'll likely be back, just not for a California Burrito.

Place was a-okay. Has a very small one way parking lot on the side of the building. As you leave note the wicked chucky doll in the window at the residence next to it.Interior - has lots of seating. A few tables outside but no shade.Ordered the breakfast burrito, around $9 after tax. It was long and skinny. Used to short/fat burritos. It was just okay. Potatoes cooked thoroughly at least. Salsa was good.Restaurant itself is a little tough to get to with the side street.

Once again five star review for the best carne asada burrito in San Diego. These burritos are huge and full of juicy ingredients. You get your money's worth here. I tried the shredded beef taco and loved every bite. Crispy and juicy combination. The service is the best. Great conversation with the staff. We will be back for sure. Support your local businesses.

Came here on Sunday at 12:30 in the afternoon and ordered a beef taco. Was told that they were out of beef tacos. On top of that, they charge a.65 credit card fee for you to use your card. What kind of Mexican place runs out of Taco's? Oh yeah, a lousy one.

Supposed to be a "breakfast burrito". Should be called a potato burrito. I believe the price was $8.85 with an additional BS 6% "service charge" we also got carne asada burrito but the meat, although cooked through, was cold. Probably left over from yesterday. San Diego is a sad place for burrito lovers these days. Typical prices are $12-15 for a burrito that used to cost 1/2 that price before COVID. Pretty lame. It might be OK if the food was at least good. By the way, salsa sucked too. Tried all 3 and were like water.

Dude ! Nicos is one of the best taco shops in SD period . The staff are unbelievably sweet, and welcoming! That alone makes me happy. Now let's talk about the food. The food is so amazing. Classic San Diego Mexican food. Now let's talk about the amazing prices. The prices are so fair , the portions are so perfect.
