I am so glad I came to visit on the week my friends decide to do their monthly food tour in Chicago's Little Vietnam. After watching a YouTube video of the restaurant with them, I was extremely excited to try Nhà hàng Vietnam in Chicago for its authentic flavors and warm hospitality.Growing up, my two all-time favorite dishes are the Cả Cánh Chưan and the Cả Kho Tộ. As a kid, I never knew how others share the same sentiment and that they are the dishes that are shining examples of the rich culinary heritage of Vietnam. The Cả Cánh Chưa is a delightful dish that tantalizes the taste buds with its balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors. It might be the best one I've had (and I live in southern CA where Vietnamese culture is HUGE. The soup is sour and tangy (more than most). The only thing I think could have been improved is the quality of the catfish. It didn't taste as meaty or fresh. But can't blame the location. Nevertheless, the soup was the star of our table. Equally impressive is the Cả Kho Tộ, a classic Vietnamese comfort food that warms the soul with its rich, caramelized flavors. The tender pieces of catfish are braised in a savory-sweet sauce made from fish sauce, sugar, and aromatics, resulting in a dish that's both comforting and deeply satisfying. It is usually served with a side of steamed rice but we opted to skip since we had three other spots to try.The staff at Nhà hàng Vietnam are friendly, attentive, and passionate about sharing their culture through food. The menu has over 100 items!I am glad my friends have something to remind them of home (California) in Chicago!

We were from out of town and the reviews were just so wonderful about this restaurant. It was between this one and the other one my husband wanted to go due to the decor but the distance was a bit further. So here we drive to Argyle!Ambiance was out of date. The door handle going into the restaurant was gross and sticky. They still had Christmas lights on the windows. We order appetizers of summer rolls which were good but the 2 orders of chicken wings were so awful tasting... expired! Can't believe they would serve this!My husband and kids got pho and he said it was good. I order the dish of vermicelli noodles with beef, shrimp, & eggroll. Sauce was great but the shrimp was dried out... really?! We had 3 male servers who we had to keep flagging down to take our orders or get us things. Would I go back when in town...Nope. Must be an off day for this place or maybe people who go here ...like expired food???

Tasty and reasonably priced pho. I'd say it's comparable to other Vietnamese places I've had in Argyle, which is a compliment to the quality you get up here. I actually didn't get pho this time but probably will when I go back. I got a spicy beef dish with rice, which was good. It was a bit less food than I expected, but still fairly filling between the vegetables and rice. The menu is extensive so you'll definitely find something you like. Give this a shot!

A solid Vietnamese restaurant on Argyle Street. Saw several posts on Instagram recommending this place, so decided to try. I was pleased to see they offer Bun Rieu ( tomato & crab) soup noodles as not all pho places serve this. The Bun Rieu was on point and came with a good variety of veggies. I also ordered the char grilled pork vermicelli bowl which came with a generous portion of pork.Note, they open at 10 am, even if they don't answer the phone. Paid street parking. I recommend and will return!

The pho is super rich and deep. One of the best I've had in Chicago. I just wish it weren't so far up north.

Solid Vietnamese food coming from someone who's never visited Vietnam. I tried bun bo hue here for the first time and personally loved the balance of spicy and savory. The rounded rice noodles were also a nice change from the typical flat pho noodles. Their pho broth was great too, nothing to complain about. I also tried their shrimp spring rolls, which were good but I felt like they skimp on the shrimp serving by slicing each one in half, so most of the spring roll was just noodle.

Growing up in Asia, I have fairly high standards for Vietnamese food. Nha Hang definitely beats those standards and deserves all the hype. Everything we tried was amazing and I'll definitely be back!

Nha Hang Viet Nam is a great Vietnamese place with all kinds of Vietnamese food. They have all kinds of dishes from banh mi's to noodles to rice. The staff are all very nice and patient as well. I ordered taken pho with braised pork and shrimp. I felt that the shrimp was a little overcooked but it didn't ruin the dish at all. The braised pork was delicious! The pho is perfect for some protein, carbs, and veggies.
