***BEWARE OF PRICE GAUGING***I can tell by their low rating this place is a scam. My friend bought me a bottle of tequila there for $59. When I went in to buy another bottle the old grumpy man told me it was going to be $110. When I laughed he said because it was very hard to get. I drove over to BevMo 5 min away and bought a case of 6 for $49 a piece. Really hard to get. LOL I reported them to the state tax board. They probably need a really good sales tax audit to straighten them out.

Guy behind the counter was a dick. Straight up. Would like to be kind about it, but he doesn't deserve it. Solid tip, just buy your stuff and don't try to be friendly.

Eh. Overall a good selection and display. Everything from hard seltzer to rye. Unfortunately, I felt like the clerk was pulling prices out of thin air! Not a lot of single cans, for thirsty surfers. Slightly rip-offish.Rebel review: 3

Watch out if you try a web order with this location, especially if you live in Texas. Their website says they ship but my order was cancelled and refunded with the reason " we no longer ship to Texas". I called the location since I receive wine from California vineyards on a regular basis so I know it is not a California-Texas thing. The responder, an Asian gentleman who was a bit rude, said it was a FedEx/UPS issue and out of his control. Don't waste your time, hopefully the locals have a better experience.

The clerk (I think also owner) was casually having a racist conversation with a customer next to me in the check out line about Black people being murdered by police. When I said I'd never come back after hearing what he said, he didn't express slight remorse or embarrassment about uttering such a hideous comment, and only asked why I was "listening to his conversation" as if he wasn't bellowing his racist thoughts 6 feet away from me in a crowded store. Also their bottles are old and collect dust on the shelves. Old dusty bottles + racist clerks/owners = time to find a new place to buy booze.

Well I just bought a two year old cider. $15 down the drain and a horrible taste in my mouth. Check your shelves. I don't know why this shocks me given the people working here are so rude and act put out when customers are there.

Unfriendly, discriminatory owner. Luckily employees are this business's saving grace. Unfortunately, owner has clearly become jaded by serving the OB area for too long. While working with a friendly employee to find a collector's bottle of Blantons bourbon (I still needed the L and second N letters), the owner came up and said "if he refuses to buy the next bottle, do not serve him." I tried to explain I was looking for an exact letter/horse and how I collect Blantons. To which he showed his ignorance by stating "that isn't a thing, I've been selling that bottle like water for nearly 30 years," and "it's always been $200-300 a bottle." He then moved on to target my wife (she is of Mexican heritage), stating "how do I not know while you are asking to see bottles of bourbon that she (gesturing towards my wife) isn't trying to steal a bottle of alcohol or rob the store." He belittled us, accused us of trying to rob the store, frequently stating "my employees don't have hours to help you," (it was less than 2 minutes) and statements about being the best liquor store, the best liquor store owner, and if his employees were nicer than him "it's because I (he) trained them so well."Frequented this store for years. In fact, I was there 3 nights ago buying a bottle of Blantons with the B letter. While in the store 3 nights ago, the employees asked me to come back and they would order any bottle I needed... I guess only when the owner isn't present. Please please make the slightly longer walk to Abbott St liquor. No reason to be talked down to, have your wife accused of stealing in front of several other customers, or be belittled for trying to spend over $200 on a hobby.

Their online store is a problem. In the first place, that URL has a "Not Secure" Google warning on it indicating not to use passwords or banking information as they may be compromised. Well I accessed the site via VPN and entered my order for some Scotch using a virtural keyboard so I thought my info would be protected. After all this my order was declined, twice. So I called them to find out why and they don't even have the Scotch in stock. So take a warning, this operation does not seem to be reliable.

I would give this business 3.5 stars but that isn't an option. Selection and price are both good. However, they are dishonest about their open and close times. They advertise on their window that they sell until 2 AM. I came at around 1:48 after a late shift looking to grab 2 tallboys. I was crassly told that the store closes at 1:45. When I pointed to the 7-2 advert on their window, the "boss" bluntly claimed he decided when the place closes. I understand that as a small business, one can open and close as they wish. However, it is poor business practice to falsely advertise your hours. Some of us work late. I have waited tables at small businesses for a good 6 years and this behavior would be deemed unacceptable. Until this shop is honest about their hours, I will take my business elsewhere and tell my friends who work late shifts to do the same. I respect and support small businesses, but only the honest ones.
