Love the food at Yummy Kitchen! Our go-to items are House Special Fried Rice, Sesame Balls, Crispy Garlic Chicken Wings, and a tofu fish dish that isn't on the menu (mildly spiced Stewed Beef Brisket w.Tofu Casserole but we request fish instead of beef). Soooooo goood every time!

Most of the dishes we ordered that came with a sauce are pretty sweet. And so is the owner! It was really windy and the door was kept open so we were shivering a bit. We didn't say anything since we figured they left the door open to air out the cooking smoke or something but the owner immediately came by, asked if we were cold, and quickly closed the door.1. Battered pork tenderloin - a little dry on the inside, presumably since tenderloin is a leaner meat. The battered shell on the outside is the smooth type so it was only slightly crispy. It came with a delicious spiced powder on the side to dip.2. Stir-fried beef with cumin - very tasty but the meat was also kind of chewy unfortunately. We noticed they were marinating meat slices in the back so at least it's freshly made.3. Kung Pao tofuPretty standard and came with tofu, peanuts, and zucchini.4. Vegetable chow mein - the soy-sauce based sauce on this was pretty sweet but the noodles were the perfect texture, smooth and slightly chewy.5. We were also handed a complimentary side of julienned carrots and potato and told we could refill it on the table nearby - this was delicious and savory with hints of vinegar and possibly garlic

True to their name the restaurant is essentially a large open kitchen with a few homestyle dining tables. We got -Egg fried rice- 5/5- hot off the stove and served piping hot, this was a moist, delicious plate of almost perfect fried rice. Chilli chicken-5/5- I love the sichuanese style chicken chilli. The version here was perfect, not too numbing hot to desensitize, just the right amount to tingle and tantalize the senses. The chicken was perfectly cooked as well. This is easily one of the better versions I have had in a long time.Chowmein-3/5- the sauce did not cling onto the noodles and there was sauce pool at the bottom of the plate. Since we were the only customers at that time, I took the liberty of asking them to reduce it down and hopefully leave a char on the noodles. The lady helping us obliged and came back a few minutes later. This version was better but it still needed work. She told me the next time I can request it the way I want before hand as different customers have different preferences. Anyway, out of the 3 dishes we ordered this is the only one I was not impressed by.The 3 dishes came upto $60 for two of us. Very expensive for a restaurant which is not fine dining.

My son said this restaurant had the best Chinese food he has ever had. He said his friend said this was his favorite Chinese restaurant in San Jose. So of course, I had to try it out. This is a Szechuan Chinese restaurant. It was not very spicy. Delicious mapo tofu and spicy chicken. The fish dish was good to try but not my favorite. They did have the best sweet & sour pork. It wasn't overly breaded and the sauce was not overly sweet or red. There was enough pork, pineapple and green peppers. We ordered family style. Owned and run by a very sweet family. Service is fast and efficient. The cook was professionally trained. Wok hei in his dishes. They served us some delish relish too. My son is looking forward to eating here again.

I love how you can watch the chefs cook your food in the woks in their "open" kitchen. The only downside is I smelled pretty smoky afterwards.I stopped by in a group of 2 on a Saturday night for a small dinner. It wasn't too crowded inside with many free tables, although there were many people who picked up delivery/takeout orders during my meal.We got the mapo tofu ($13.99), stir-fried string beans with pork ($15.99), and a bowl of rice each ($2/ea).The mapo tofu came on this sizzling plate that kept it hot the whole time! The tender pieces of tofu were swimming in a savory sauce that had a numbing kick. The pieces of pork in this dish were pretty small and added some umami flavor to the dish, but the tofu was the star of the show. I am glad we ordered rice to soak up all the tasty sauce! The stir-fried string beans had a lot of peppery flavor and were nicely blistered on the surface. Although the string beans were glistening on the surface they did not feel or taste too greasy. The pork in this dish was saltier than in the mapo tofu and at times was a bit too salty for me. I wouldn't have minded the dish without the pork and might even try ordering it without pork next time. The servers are kind and attentive. The seating area is not the fanciest but this is a great spot for a casual and tasty meal!

Recently checkout a local Chinese restaurant with my husband . All the dishes had really good flavor especially the Szechuan fish fillet with spicy broth. It is kind of oily , but I like that it was not overly spicy and had a delicious taste. The server was very friendly.Would definitely go back.

This is a cozy family-owned Chinese restaurant with a very casual ambience. I came in for dinner with my family on a Sunday night. The service is warm and friendly, and the open kitchen allows you to see your food being freshly prepared. We ordered the house special fried rice, pork tenderloin, braised pork ribs, string beans with minced pork, and Mongolian beef. The house special fried rice was so good that we finished it and ordered another one! All the dishes were flavorful, and the pork and beef were very soft and tender. We also received complimentary fortune cookies for dessert. Overall, we had a delicious and memorable dinner. I will recommend Yummy Kitchen to my friends!

The ambiance is amazing and beautiful! This is a new restaurant. Their specials were delicious but very small bite size with a hefty price tag. Service was bad, we were not seated on time, and the server made multiple mistakes on our order. After 30 minutes after ordering the server came back and said one of the dishes is not longer available.

The fried pork with green peppers was yummy. The pork was succulent, but it would have been nice to have more veggies too. The owner/cook was very friendly. The restaurant was a bit unclean and the atmosphere was very basic.
