My friend and I came to Yi Fang for boba. Upon arriving, there was a line, but fortunately, the service was lightning fast. Yi Fang offers fully customizable drink options, as well as recommended sweetness levels for their drinks. I had the Brown Sugar Pearl Matcha Latte; it was absolutely delicious. They recommended light sweetness for the matcha, which paired perfectly with the heavily sweetened boba. Yi Fang is truly an authentic Taiwanese boba tea experience that serves good tasting tea without lacing everything with sugar. I would highly recommend Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea, especially at this location.

Yifang's brown sugar boba drinks are all consistently good, across locations too. This time, I really enjoyed the matcha brown sugar boba, and so did my boyfriend who doesn't typically like matcha! Overall they're just a good balance of all flavors and temperatures (cold milk, hot boba). Their sugar levels aren't changeable but they're perfect anyway. We also got the pineapple green tea with boba at the recommended 30% sweet, but we ended up asking them to add more sugar to make it 50%. Even then it was still rather unsweet.I like that you can order on Snackpass. Service was pretty quick on a Sunday afternoon. They finished my order before the time indicated on Snackpass.

Kind of expensive, but really tasty with lots and lots of variety and customization options. First time I was here I had the mango pomelo sago drink, and second time the taro latte. I love taro, but the first drink was actually more special to me.The first time the wait was really really long - like 40 minutes. I get that popularity will lead to long wait times, but it would really be nice if their system gave you an estimated wait time before you ordered so you have a choice whether to move forward or not. The second time was mid-afternoon so basically really quick.I like that you can pick your sweetness levels for most drinks, as well as have a wide variety of add ins. The kiosk ordering is convenient too, esp since the workers are typically so busy cranking out the drinks. I definitely wouldn't want to work here - too high stress. No ambiance to speak of - this place is an order, wait, grab, and go type of place. I can recommend it, but if it's busy, I'd ask how long it will take to get your drinks before you order.

A friend had introduced me to this place and it will be one of my go-tos when I'm in the area. I usually order the mango pomelo sago which has a perfectly balanced mango, coconut, and pomelo flavor. The service can be a bit slow. The inside is very small and there is no seating. There is a kiosk inside and one outside.

I like Yi Fang because they have a lot of different options. Both times I've been to this location my drinks were good, including purple rice red bean coconut latte and matcha oat milk latte. The only downside is that this store is small so you would have to take your drink to go, sit outside, or find another place to sit inside

Order via kiosks, wait till you get a ping that your drink is ready, pickup, be surprised at how small the cup is, but then enjoy the tea. Waited about 5 minutes for my drink. My husband put in his order at ume 20 minutes before I did and his drink wasn't even ready when we walked there 30 mins later!

Though I'm not a tea shop frequenter, despite the gazillions of these businesses that are as abundant and popular as Starbucks nowadays, I'll go if others want to get their fix. It has been awhile since I've gone out to get this type of beverage. At Yi Fang, I had a grass jelly flavoured tea with grass jelly pieces, medium size, requesting less ice as it was a chilly evening. It was lovely and nice, just like I remember grass jelly tastes, when I had it during childhood. Friends and I sat outside because I think there isn't much if any, seating inside. It was inevitable, I suppose, me going to this particular tea chain. "Yi Fang" characters roughly translate to "one (first?) perfume" or one wind, not sure exactly which phrase the owners want to use. Part of my own mother's name is in their name, and like most of the tea shop chains, it's Taiwanese, which is my family's heritage. Here's how the origins of the business came about, per their owner and their site:"""My grandmother, Yi Fang, married a young farmer. For three generations, our family has been planting pineapples for a living. Bending down and working hard all day long, that was their life in miniature. With an epiphany, grandma braised the overripe golden pineapples into preservable homemade jam. Our most sought-out drink, Yifang Fruit Tea, inherited not only grandma's name, but also her secret recipe. We have put the early Taiwan epitome, historic memories and warm hospitality in this one cup of drink -- using home-made organic cane sugar, seasonal fresh fruits, and natural ingredients (zero concentrated juice and powders). In every sip, you can taste the freshness of the tea and sweetness of the fruits, recreating the authentic and classic Taiwanese flavor."""Great marketing, great story, great product, Yi Fang. Tea consumers and fans could do a lot worse in the quest for a high quality authentic milk tea bubble tea dessert beverage shop.

Never disappoints with strong tea flavor. However, the sugar levels are kind of hit-or-miss, and even though I usually get 100% sugar, it never comes out the same sweetness? Would recommend the oolong milk tea!

Need to go back to try the specials. Tried their Brown Sugar Pearl Black Tea Latte hot. I like how the boba was a little chewy. It's softer outside and more chewy as you get the center of the boba. The tea flavor was a bit milder for my taste. It had a bit of a sour aftertaste. I would like to try their avocado selections next time. A bit pricey at $7 for large and only comes in one size for the hot milk tea.

Came here with a friend to get tea and then go for a stroll around Castro Street. My favorite drink is the mango pomelo sago! You can order from a screen out front and you will get a text when your drinks are ready. I like the options to customize your drink- (i.e., ice level, sweetness, size, and toppings). I like the use of fresh fruit and the wide array of drink options! This is one of my favorite spots to get tea on Castro Street. Even if there is a long line, it tends to move fairly quickly because you can just order on a kiosk screen. There is no indoor seating, but you can take your drink and sit outside. Keep that in mind- this isn't the place to go if you want somewhere to sit inside and chat with a friend.
