I used to love Ume Tea back when I discovered it in Sunnyvale, and was so excited for it to come to Mountain View. I thought the mochi topping was really interesting, the tapioca was usually cooked properly, and the tea was generally good. They also sometimes have the purple rice milk tea which I enjoy on days I'm too lazy to make purple rice dessert myself. I recently considered ordering their new floral drink called the Blossom Latte as it had jasmine and camellia, but I'm actually glad I didn't. When I passed by, they had samples of the drink and I found it to be a very artificial flavor and didn't like it. I once really enjoyed the Camellia flavored tea at Moon Tea and this was nothing like it (actually it's discontinued at Moon Tea as well so RIP). Anyways I don't think there's anything I would get at Ume Tea that I couldn't get elsewhere.Worst of all, the wait is always incredibly long. Even when there aren't that many people it can take a really long time. I find that I don't have this issue at other stores as much, but this really matters given how cold it's gotten.Also, the interior was like a copy of the Amausaan Uji Matcha, which was in Newark before it closed. There's something about the interior that feels like it's trying excessively hard to be cute and exclusive to invite people. And the seating isn't that inviting or interesting compared to what they did at Amausaan.

Located in downtown Mountain View, nice spot with cute decor inside. Came on a Friday afternoon around 2 pm and it was pretty busy inside. But I was able to order on the kiosk right away. Wanted to try one of the holiday drinks and got the berry pistachio latte. There were many drinks in the queue so waited about 20 min for it to be ready. There was no sweetness adjustment so it was pretty sweet. It was a nice blend of strawberry, milk and a light pistachio cream. There was a whole strawberry inside as well.Was excited to try the Christmas jackpot event (on drinks until the 31st). Biggest prize is free UME for a year! Scanned the QR code and won $1 coupon :')

Detailed breakdown below:**Service, 3/5** I came on a Saturday afternoon and was just 1 of 2 customers waiting in the store, but it took about 20 minutes for me to get my order. **Price & portion, 4/5** The snack size mini fried octopus was $9.95, which felt just barely worth it, but after tax and tip, felt overpriced.**Taste of the food, 5/5** So good! The octopus are breaded in a crispy coating and perfectly seasoned -- I might like this more than popcorn chicken because of the crunch and chew. Super recommend adding spice for a bit of a kick.

Went the only once, not sure if will be coming back: the menu choices are great, really good prices, very nice atmosphere & plenty of chairs. But had to wait for the drink for over 40 minutes on a Saturday evening. I do get that it can get busy, but maybe a better system can be put in place, or maybe more people should be hired. Management needs to be better.

This is my first time in a Ume Tea and I love the store design and vibe. Plus they had free milk tea samples they have on the front! I got the Blossom Tea. It was great, but more milk than jasmine. Place is crowded (as expected) on a Saturday afternoon. They don't provide napkins/tissues. There's no explicit menu available until you get to the ordering kiosk, so the ordering line may take a while to move along as some people may not know what to order yet. Order online! I thought there was going to be a wait on a Sunday afternoon, so I ordered 20 minutes before I got there. I arrived and my drink was already made. The interiors were cute and they have great merch options. I got the lychee and watermelon green tea. I was a bit turned off by a black watermelon seed floating in there but I took it out and thoroughly enjoyed the drink! They have their sugar levels and topping amounts spot on. 30% wasn't too sweet and was still refreshing!
