I've been to Ullavacharu Tiffins in Campbell so many times that I practically know the staff by sight--and let me tell you, they never fail to impress. The moment you walk in, there's this friendly buzz in the air that feels more like visiting a favorite aunt's kitchen than a restaurant. And guess what? The food absolutely lives up to that cozy vibe.I'm usually all about variety, and these chefs (some of them wearing these cool beanie-like caps) are total rockstars at crafting South Indian flavors. I've had their idlis (light as clouds), tried different dosas (each with its own twist), and even dug into their hot Pongal (smooth, comforting, and brimming with gentle spices). My latest obsession? The Ghee Rava Masala Dosa. The semolina-based batter transforms into this lacy, golden crunch on the edges that practically crackles with every bite. Inside, you'll find a potato masala that's seasoned just right--not too salty but still bold without going overboard. I've also gone for their Vijaywada Paneer Dosa, which was a revelation in itself: soft paneer pieces nestled in a mild yet creamy masala--like a mini celebration in every bite. Now, about the folks working here: they're not just friendly; they go above and beyond. I had a little "oops" moment when I forgot my wallet after my morning meal. By the time I realized and came rushing back, "John", who had graciously served me the Ghee Rava Masala Dosa earlier, had already stashed it safely at the front register. He handed it over like it was no big deal, and I thanked him for taking care of my wallet with all my essentials. It was a quick moment, but it really showed how caring everyone is at this place. Before you head out, do yourself a favor and try their "chai". I'm a total chai fanatic, and theirs checks all the boxes--fragrant ginger, a hint of cardamom, and a perfectly balanced milky smoothness. It's like a warm hug in a cup, and it never fails to leave me smiling. If you're craving authentic South Indian cuisine with top-tier flavors (and staff who treat you like family every time), Ullavacharu Tiffins is your spot. I'll keep coming back for the incredible dosas, the comforting Pongal, and of course, that chai that wraps everything up on the happiest note

Walking in, you might think you went to the wrong place because it looks like the restaurant took over an old sushi restaurant. They still have a tatami room that they don't use. I went here with some co-workers to give dosa a try. They have a lot of variety on the menu, but it can be a little hard to distinguish because there really isn't a description. You'll probably need the server to help if you never eaten dosa before. The dosa is big and filling. They're like really big crepes with potato inside. The chutneys are great too.

My friend wanted to go out for South Indian food on a Saturday morning. Our first choice was jam packed so we ended up going to UlavacharU as a backup. I have never really said this about Indian food before as it's not particularly one of my favorites cuisines, BUT I REALLY want to go back to this place. This restaurant apparently replaced a sushi restaurant and from decor and interior design, you can definitely tell lol. The parking lot is pretty small, but my friends and I were able to cop the last two spots. The workers were nice and even recommended us one of the food items. Bless that man for introducing it to me.Podi Idly (5/5) - Spectacular! I had no idea what it was (later found it was a type of rice cake) but it was delicious! It was so soft and so flavorful. Definitely pretty spicy, but it was a good type of spice. The outer part had some little spice balls (I'm assuming it's the podi) that had a nice crisp texture. Masala Dosa (4/5) - The dosa was good, but it was just outshined by Podi Idly for me. I wish it had more spices and texture, but the sauces that went with it were really good. I like that there was so much variety for you to try. It's also a HUGE portion, so it was a perfect amount for our group of three. I would love to come back to try a different dosa, perhaps one of the varieties of podi. This was a good introduction to South Indian food. I would definitely recommend this place.

Loved this place. We were here for breakfast. Food is very tasty and very kind service. We had Chai, Filter Coffee, Puri Bhaaji, Dosa, Idli-Vada-upma combo. We liked all the items we ordered. We especially liked their special Ginger-Jaggery Chutney. They also sell those chutneys in 8 oz containers. Very nice Asian interior since this place used to be a sushi restaurant before. They have added small Indian touches to the decor without spoiling the original feel of the place. We will definitely come back to try more dishes.

Great place to get dosa in Campbell. The menu has dozens of different dosas to choose from. I got the special rava masala dosa. It was crispy and had a the right amount of veggies and cashews. It came with four different chutneys and sambar. Delicious! The inside is pretty basic, but it's clean. Service isn't anything special either, but it's good enough and on par with most Indian restaurants. Would definitely come back.

The best dosa I've had in the Bay Area. Their onion dosa's are amazing and their masala is a great add to any dish.Ullavacharu Tiffins has become our go-to spot for brunch almost whenever we crave for authentic Indian breakfast, and it never disappoints! My wife usually switches between the madras paratha with kurma and the Poori with Chana, both of which are outstanding choices. The Poori is light and fluffy, while the chana is flavorful and well-seasoned. The ghee Onion Dosa is my absolute favorite--crispy, spicy, and yummy. This is the only spot where we loved sambar that comes with dosa! :) We often pair our meals with a masala chai and always top-notch.The staff here are friendly, and the service is quick. The atmosphere is casual and perfect for a relaxed brunch. We always leave satisfied and looking forward to our next visit! If you're craving authentic South Indian food, Ullavacharu Tiffins is a must-try. Highly recommend!

We were planning to go to another restaurant nearby but it was so crowded that we decided to try this place. We got nellore podi dosa, raga onion dosa, pesarettu and upma, podi idli and Poori masala for my kid.The podi idli was very good and spicyyy. Loved it. The dosas were good but we expected more spice. The chutneys and sambhar were all very good. The only problem was that the Poori had hair on it when it arrived. When we showed it to them, they immediately made another one for us. Didn't expect hair, right on top of poori to be served to us.The restaurant wasn't too busy when we went and the place is clean and spacious.

My friend and I came here for dinner during the week. It was not busy when we went, and we were seated upon arrival.Food:I ordered the mysore masala dosa. It was very good. The sauces it came with paired well. The lentil soup had a really good kick to it. We also shared the medhu(?) vada which were also good. All the sauces were flavorful. It was hard to pick a favorite.Service:Service was friendly and quick. Our server answered our questions about spice levels graciously. Our food came out promptly as well.TL;DR - delicious place for some dosa!

My party of 3 walked in on a Saturday around 11:30am and we were seated right away. Easy parking in designated lot and plenty of seating options (both booth and tables). I got the mango lassi and the special ghee rava dosa. Mango lassi was good, but more on the sour/yogurt-y side. I liked the special ghee rava dosa! It was flavorful and filling. I liked that the rava dosa was thin and crispy since I always appreciate a little texture. I tried some of my friend's mysore masala dosa as well and it was good too! My favorite chutneys were the coconut and ginger. Service was straightforward and no-frills.

It's time to provide an updated review. I have visited them countless times since they opened including their first day.The food has been consistently good. Not once was i disappointed by their chutnies and their sambar is delicious. They have the BEST rava dosa in the bayarea. This has become our default go to restaurant when we crave Andhra style food. They have combos as well now and that's what we always opt for as we get to have a little bit of everything.
