When you come to Berkeley, there's always good cultural places to eat. Toss was a great find close to Berkeley HS after a tournament. Interior has a cool urban vibe as college towns have. The establishment was clean and inviting. I'd hang here if I were a student. Service was delightful. Food arrived quickly. I love the concept. - pick a noodle (or base)- pick a sauce (wok-toss, soup, or curry)- pick a proteinYou can probably come here and try hundreds of combinations and can't go wrong. We ordered:- flat rice, laksa with combination protein- wheat, Malay with pork- spicy Thai chicken basil with flat riceEverything we ordered was delicious and flavorful! If you're in the area, be sure to give Toss a try!

We visited this spot before going to a play at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre (which I highly recommend, by the way!). It made for a lovely date night. We arrived around 6 PM on a Friday, and we just managed to beat the rush. Shortly after we ordered and sat down, a line formed that stretched nearly the entire length of the restaurant. Our food was served almost immediately. There's a self-serve station where we grabbed our own utensils, napkins, and water. I also used the restroom, which was fairly clean. Although there was a sign saying "No restroom use," they kindly let me in as a customer, which was appreciated. As for the food, I really enjoyed the classic edamame--it was lightly salted and simple, a solid choice. I ordered the garlic noodles with tofu as my protein. The noodles were flavorful with garlic, butter, and cheese, but I felt the tofu could have been better if it had been baked or fried; it tasted a bit plain in its current form. My partner ordered a different noodle dish (I forget the name), but it had chicken and more vegetables, making it feel a bit more balanced. I'd probably go for that one next time.Overall, this place is a convenient spot, especially for college students looking for a hearty, calorie-dense meal. The food might not be the healthiest, but it's definitely comforting and satisfying--perfect before or after a night out.

This is a great noodle spot in Berkeley. The service is always extremely fast, and the workers are very kind. They have a diverse menu with a lot of options, and are able to do many substitutions. There are a lot of students that come here, it is a nice atmosphere to sit down and have a meal. There is also a decent amount of indoor seating available. My favorite is the Pad Se Ew noodles. Super good! I also got the Thai tea, which is not super sweet so I think a lot of people would like it. Just keep in mind, they do charge a fee for to go bags and boxes. Definitely will be back!

Pretty decent food for a late night bite at a fast casual place. I enjoyed my meal, but I don't think I'd order this specific combination again. I do appreciate the option to "build your own" in order to try different types of combos!

I came here while visiting Berkeley. I was recommended this place. The food was really great! Everything was cooked perfectly. The noodles (hokien) were chewy and the Chinese wok toss was great! Highly recommend if you are in the area for comforting noodles!

We come here about once a year and it's always a pretty solid experience. They have a build-your-own style menu where you can pick your noodle, sauce style, and protein. I always prefer the hokkien noodles which are on the thicker side, and they go well with the thai/malay sauce combo. It was my first time getting some items off the side menu, the highlight of which was the vegetarian dumplings. The pineapple fried rice was just okay, and the eggplant was a little disappointing given the quantity. The food came out quickly, although they do start to clean up right at the closing time.

I honestly think Toss has the best Thai food in Berkeley. I've had both the pad thai and pad see ew and Toss is always consistent and never disappoints! The takeout is also just as delicious as dining in. We came late at night on a Sunday and I had the pad thai. The sauce was savory and plentiful, complimenting the noodles well. I like their interior and there is always ample seating and no wait time when I'm here. Will be coming back!

Good place for noodles with super fast service. You seat yourself and bus your own table. We got:- kabocha croquette: deliciously crispy on the outside, sweet on the inside. - thick rice noodles with Thai flavor and beef- glass noodles with laksa soup and beef For both entrees, the noodles and flavors were pretty darn good. Perfect chewiness and thickness. The veggies however were a bit too hard for my liking. The beef was also kinda questionable in color. One thing I will say though, they charge 25 cents for a togo box. That's pretty ridiculous to me. It's a self service place, I bought food and tipped you, and you're tryna profit off of togo containers??? It's simply a bad principle!! Other than that, decent place haha

My daughter and I ate dinner here before a concert at the nearby Cornerstone venue. We got the edamame - wish we would have gotten the garlic one though; it was ok. My daughter got the hokkien noodles, in soy sauce with chicken - she gave it a 4/5 because she wasn't a fan of some of the veggies in there (namely asparagus). I got the hokkien noodles in peanut sauce w/ shrimp. It was really good! Service was relatively quick - you order at the counter, get a number and have a seat, they bring the food to your table. You do have to get your own napkins and water if you'd like them. Ambiance was nice, not too crowded and diff options for seating (high tops and bench/tables). Will definitely go back!

Second time I've been here it's pretty good for the price. It's a dollar or two to add protein but the noodles are completely customizable. You can mix and match and even the sauces you can go half half on. I do the Japanese and half of the spicy one I can't remember which it's called. The portion is a good size for the price. After you order at the front you seat yourself and can grab utensils and water. They keep the space pretty clean.
