Pretty good food! And great coffee. Probably one of my favorite spots on campus. The ambiance reminds me of cafes I used to visit in Europe- it's a bit of an escape from the young Stanford crowd. Sitting on the balcony, enjoying a latte and a panini, has become one of the many secret joys of Stanford.I haven't found menu items that I absolutely love, but I will keep you all updated!

I love this cafe. High quality tasty menu options with an Italian flair. I was visiting family over the weekend, and having tried it out a couple of years ago, I wanted to come back. Still terrific. And busy ...

Pleasantly surprised by this cafe at the Cantor Arts Center! There's indoor and outdoor seating, delicious Italian cafe food, and friendly service. Great for families!

I had an early lunch at this cafe inside the Cantor Arts Center @ Stanford. This is a great choice for a casual lunch or a refreshing drink while on campus. I learned this cafe is part of Tootsie Barn, a popular dining spot close by. My tuna panino served on a ciabatta roll and with a side of fresh arugula was absolutely delicious. Ample seatings both indoors and alfresco are available. Clean and lots of natural light for comfortable experience.

Pollo Panini -- this sandwich didn't taste cohesively good together, the bread was really tough to bite and the sun dried tomato pesto had a really sour taste.Tiramisu -- a little mushy, but the flavor was good. This was around $6 for a cup.

This was rough to say the least. We frequent the Cool Cafe a fair amount. Its in lose proximity to work and there is nothing better than grabbing a quick lunch and spending a few minutes taking in the Rodin Garden, a Willem de Kooning masterpiece, or the new Warhol exhibit at the Cantor. Its generally pricey but decent grub and a change of pace from the weekend hospital cafeteria. However, we have been getting the impression that things were slipping a bit from the last time we reviewed and today things went right over a cliff. They recently underwent a model inside and they seemed to drop a few thing off the menu. I have ordered the burger here many times. Its a solid burger but not today...........The burger plus bacon AND blue cheese came to $19.00. For $19.00 this is what I got. First off the meat. It was horrible. It may have been grass fed, but it was super thin, way overcooked and had zero seasoning. Whopper meat from Burger King, would have been more appetizing. Grey and so dry, not enough ketchup in the world could save it. The patties used to be a reasonable sized but this one was like you would get on a fast food cheeseburger. Not content to overcook the meat they also went at the bacon. IT was as the picture I posted overcooked and burnt on the edges. A tiny piece of foil completed the Axis of Gross. The aioli was bland and really did nothing to help the desert that was the meat. The bun was a little bit on the stale side, but because of how dry the burger was, they held up without a problem. If the bacon and meat was bad the cheese situation was particular egregious. I don't mind spending a bit more for cheese. I do mind the small butter sized pat that was on my burger. Grilled onions? If you mean 4 thin dessicated rings then I would agree. This hands down was one of the worst burgers I have had in some time and given the price they are charging you would expect this place to do better. We will not be back for some time if at all given the downward trend we are experiencing

This place gets busy right around noon time. They stop serving food after 3. But they do have wine and beer. Most things are organic or locally sourced if thats what you're into!I got the beef burger ($15) and it was dry. BOO. The soup and sandwich combo is only for the sandwich and soup of the day. So you can choose whichever sandwich you like. They do have vegan options! My friend got a tofu salad!Go to Ike's next door if its open instead. In the end, it was expensive and meh.

The café was taken over recently by Tootsie's. The Italiano Panini sandwich was amazingly flavorful. The side salad that accompanies the paninis had a delicious vinaigrette on it. The panini bread was so fresh and tender. The best panini that I have ever had. The young man ringing up customers and serving simultaneously was a gem. Excellent customer service. My espresso was perfect - they apparently roast their own coffee beans. A great place for lunch whether you are visiting the museum or not.

Bring back Jesse Cool! The food at Tootsie's at the Cantor is bland, poorly plated and overpriced. The Insalata di Tonno was pure salt. The Caesar salad had 3 pieces of chicken. The tiramisu was a mushy and tasteless.I was embarrassed to bring an out of town friend.Wont be coming back.
