Tony & Alba's Pizza & Pasta

Amazing pizza served by really friendly people! We came here to try something new outside the mall and Tony & Alba's is a promising option. There's baker racks by entrance with games you can enjoy while you wait for food and I think some of their own merchandise. This is great for when you have kids as it kept my daughter busy the entire time! The owner is so friendly and they run "government surveys" which this month was just asking kids if they like chocolate chip cookies. So much community going on here as well in their condiments area they also feature peppers from a member of the community. Ambiance aside we only tried pizzas and a salad here. We got the a la garlic with pineapple which I thought was great with the jalapeños and juicy pineapple pieces. My daughter loves pepperoni pizza and so we got her slices of it.

I like Tony & Alba's pizza. The medium-thin herby crust and sauce have good flavors. Toppings are pretty plentiful. The staff is friendly.A few things hold it back from a 5th star for me:- The beef topping (not the Italian sausage) lacks any flavor. Needs some salt.- Sometimes the bottom of the crust is burnt. Really hit or miss.- I'd have liked more cheese on the margherita pizza.

The atmosphere is not cozy nor welcoming. The place is a hodgepodge of memorabilia and makeshift space dividers. The main dining room was full but when we wanted to sit in the additional room we were told it was only for parties of 5 or more. There were three of us Seemed odd considering the tables are set up for four guests. We stood waiting for our food and for a suitable table to become available.The staff had zero expressions and walked about like zombies. It was unsettling and attributes to the unwelcoming atmosphere.The pizza dough was dense due to lack of allowing it to rest before cooking. Three quarters of our pizza from the center out looked uncooked but again it is due to not allowing the dough to rest. We sent the pizza back to be cooked further but it was worthless, outside crust became too hard while the rest was gooey.The kids butter pasta was delicious.

We stopped in because my husband had a craving for a meatball sandwich. He was thrilled with what he got.But, my son was even more impressed. The owner of the shop took us on a small tour. We were taken into a back dining room to see his current Lego buildings. His collection is impressive! If you are a Lego enthusiast who loves Italian food, this is a spot to check out.

Super cozy and yummy mom n pop pizza spot! Super popular in SJ but we just got to try it recently and werent disappointed!! Service is extremely friendly - you can tell they're all close to each other too! We had the Diavalo's Pig Pizza and half combo(?) but the Diavalo's Pig was SOOO good that this is now a go to spot for pizza other than the mediocre chains in the area. The pasta was a kinda small serving for the price but pretty good!

the pizza as always was just the way I like it, not too much sauce or oil. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I like that they interact with the customers and know many by name. I enjoy the dad jokes on the tv screen above the register. I just wish you had

Excellent Quality Food .They do not use Soybean Vegetable oil in their Salad Dressing like other restaurants do. .This is the best Italian Food, Salads, Pizza in the whole area.

$26 for this amount? Really??? Was I incorrectly charged? I know the food is good here but $26 for the size of a small cereal bowl is outrageous. You just lost a long time customer!

The staff is what makes this place sparkle, plus the pesto, alfredo, focaccia, community hot pepper, and table of games to play while your food is freshly prepared, I could go on. I was worried I would be a bother coming in for dinner at 6:30pm, but I didn't feel rushed, even more so we were still welcomed! My partner and I were brought here as kids by our parents, and now my little ones have started to request Tony and Albas! It's even getting them to try new things... which I should add to the list of things that make this place great :)We have family in different parts of the country, and when we reminisce about San Jose with them, it's inevitable the Tony and Alba's is mentioned, followed by a collective "That place is so good, we miss it!"Truly a staple of San Jose
