Tomi Sushi

Craving sashimi, came for early weekday dinner, surprised how many customers were already seated. Then I was not really surprised, Tomi Sushi has always been a local favorite.Craving sated with Chirashi bowl. There are 3 versions and I picked the middle one. Good fish selection and rice seasoned just right. The shrimp tempura was excellently balanced with veggies and starch. The tobiko sushi and spider roll were basically desserts. :-)The house white wine was, I think, Sauvignon Blanc. Light and refreshing. Personally, it was a better choice than Sake.

I had chicken and my friend had a sushi bento, which he liked and said he was hungry. His bento had miso soup and rice. My chicken was well cooked and I asked for teriyaki sauce on the side.AmbianceThis place is packed and I had a small chair and table with my friend, it was a little bit tight.ServiceThis was fine. I think they closed at 1:30 so we got kicked out at 1:45 ish, which was a little annoying since I know people tend to have late lunch and it opens at 5 again.I'd come here again to try other dishes.

The biggest issue was the salmon, which was rubbery and tough instead of soft and buttery--a huge letdown for any sushi spot. Some of the other rolls were okay, but nothing stood out, and for the price, I expected better quality.The service was great--staff was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly. The setting was fine, nothing particularly special, but comfortable enough.Unfortunately, good service can't make up for subpar fish quality, and that's the most important part of sushi. Wouldn't come back--there are much better options for the same price.

The parking lot at this plaza is always a mess but it's worth trying to get a spot to eat here.The two times I've been have been really good. The fish is really fresh and the service is good. It can be a bit loud in here because it's a smaller space and it's usually crowded.

This is now my, and my significant other's go to spot for sushi.We bring and refer everyone here because it is that great. The seafood here is always fresh, the flavors are always consistent and the service is always quick. we have a friend who is also a super picky eater, who has hated every place that we've brought him to, but he does like the food here as well.It does get really busy here and they close in the middle of the day, so be mindful of that. It does get pretty busy here so just know that it's loud and parking is a little bit difficult, but it is totally worth it. Well, it is quite loud in here. The employees do a great job at greeting and saying goodbye to everyone which makes it feel very home-y. They're has not been a time here where I have left upset with the amount of money paid or the taste of the food. This place is literally my gold standard for sushi. Anything you order here, you really can't go wrong.

We saw a huge line waiting to get in before they opened so we naturally followed the line. We snagged the last table available for lunch. Service was quick. This place is authentic Japanese, not Chinese run Japanese. The soup is not the same salty miso paste. It was actually a seaweed, tofu broth with salmon, daikon and carrots. It was a very hearty soup. They even gave you a spare plate to deposit salmon bones. I had the tonkatsu bento with tempura. The tonkatsu was done just right crispy and juicy. Other places would fry this within an inch of its life and it would be hard and dry. Not so here. Portion is just right. Seating is cramped but restaurant is clean. Would come back!

Coming for a Saturday lunch was a decision. I think the wait at the restaurant wasn't that long because we came at 1 and didn't realize the restaurant closed at 1:30, but parking in this particular parking lot was infuriating -- it was like a Costco parking lot on a weekend except without any of the further parking spaces. We ended up parking at nearby residential street parking and walking over.The food was well worth the effort though. The lunch deals are actually decently priced, the sushi and sashimi fresh. My favorite was actually the teriyaki fish?? Definitely a good portion size for lunch, I came out full and about to food coma. There's a decent amount of seating for a small-ish restaurant but I bet it gets pretty busy during peak times, and it seems like it's walk-in waitlist only

Came here with my friend on an early Saturday evening - wasn't too crowded and we were seated fairly quickly at the bar. We were really craving sushi and ordered a bunch of salmon avocado and eel avocado to share. It was fairly straightforward, delicious, and exactly what we were craving at the time. I do believe I also ordered a miso soup that was a little too light and not very hot, but not a huge problem.Would recommend if you have a craving for sushi and are looking for a nice izakaya-esque experience in the Bay Area!

The restaurant is lightly lit but not so dark that you can clearly read the menu, creating a nice warm and cozy feel. The waitstaff was also very attentive for when our waters were getting low or whenever we tried flagging them down for requests. The food is on the pricier side, that being said, the quality of the sushi is also better than the cheaper places.The restaurant had a line forming before they opened and packed up as soon as they let people in. This place is hot right now and worth the wait in my opinion.I can't remember the specific rolls that we got, but they were very delicious and well prepared. We might stop by here again in the future to try out more of the rolls they have.
