Big improvement since my last visit! I had never planned to return, but husband wanted to go for his birthday. Food was much fresher and kept properly, temps were good, nothing for me to complain about with the food. Staff can be kinda gruff, but whatever. Still a huge improvement

Tomi Sushi & Seafood Buffet is an AYCE restaurant located in Eastridge mall. They are right across the way from Red Robin Gourmet Burgers. Plenty of parking, so no problem with that. This is the last remaining location in the Bay Area. They used to have one at Vallco Mall in Cupertino but that is totally torn down now. The restaurant is very large and can accommodate large groups and/or special events like wedding receptions, birthdays, funeral, etc.The food selection is primarily Asian, like steamed ginger & onion fish, bbq spareribs, cha-shu, roast pork, sautéed clams, mussels, honey shrimp, won ton noodles, dim sum, steamed snow crab legs, raw oysters, sushi, sashimi, handrolls, fresh fruit, jello, and tiny individual desserts. For the older generation like my mom, they love this place because "It's free on your birthday with proof of birthday AND 2 paying adults (total 3)."

Had dinner here with my boyfriend & his family. We celebrated his little sisters birthday. It's $42 per person and you can eat here for free on your birthday! They have a variety of selection. From Asian food like duck, sautéed vegetables, Asian soups, and dim sum. They also have sushi and sashimi, they have a pretty good selection!! My favorite is their roast duck, it was so flavorful and just the perfect amount of crisp & saltiness! Their seafood is also really good, I always get plates and plates of their sashimi

Come here for 1) nostalgia and 2) variety (not quality), nothing else.Service is not bad (waiter was nice), but may have to make requests for things (like getting water refills or drink orders) more than once.Dinner on Xmas was $41.99 for adults, and the special hot/carving station wasn't even open, so stingy and very disappointing.Wontons at the noodle station were pretty good though!Perhaps not noticeable for others, but I was hit with a pretty foul smelling stench every time I walked through the fried food area (with sesame balls, French fries, tempura shrimp, etc.) toward the seafood/cold bar stations. It was very off-putting and unappetizing. However, may just be me since no one else was reacting to the smell.Bathrooms were decently clean! For the money, you can get either way better/more food, or just a much better experience basically anywhere else.

Date: Saturday, November 9th. 2024Time: around 12pmMeal: LunchA friend arranged a huge group lunch here. I'm not sure how many people we had, but I'd say like 5+ tables? And some were huge long tables of like 8-12. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the lunch price on a Sat is $27.99 for an adult.I basically tried all the stations. I'm not a huge carb girl, so I stuck to meat and veggies more or less. Except dessert of course. Cuz girl logic says those aren't real carbs. Lol! I had five plates total.First plate consisted of salad, raw seafood, and congee. I couldn't find any white pepper, green onions, or cilantro for the jook, which was kinda disappointing. The porridge was pork and century egg. Had a bit of each ingredient, but could have definitely used more. Second plate was random Chinese food. I got a wonton soup, crawfish, xiao long bao, clams, broccoli beef, etc. Again, I missed having condiments, I wanted some vinegar, soy, etc, for the XLB. In regards to the soup, holy MSG! I took a few sips and was done. Plate three was the barbecue and fried area - cha siu, roast duck, roast pig, egg roll, salt and pepper calamari, etc. I added a soup to this round - the fish maw one. It was bland. The siu aap and siu yuk were pretty good for a buffet. But everything else kinda needed more flavor. I did finally find the condiment section with some chili sauce, so started adding that to everything. Plate four was a sampling of soups - hot and sour, miso, herb - a couple pieces of sushi, and seconds of crawfish and clams. Honestly, the only thing I really enjoyed was the crawfish. The savory sauce stuck to the crawfish nicely and it even had some spice. Plate five was just a mish mosh of desserts and fruit I wanted to try. Unfortunately, they had run out of green tea ice cream when I got to that station, so I opted for strawberry instead. The fruit station had melons and pineapple. I'm not a huge melon person, so I just grabbed some pineapple. My group was here for a good three hours, so I'm to sure if there is a time limit. But it was a good amount of time to not stuff myself silly while having the opportunity to try everything. Not the best buffet out there. There's nothing I would come back for except the crawfish. So if I'm trying to get more bang for my buck, then I'd just stick to that and the roasted items.REVIEW #3622

Eight of us came here on MLK Day at 5:30pm. It's $41.99 per person plus 18% service fee. The restaurant is nice and roomy. The hot food section was pretty good. Starting from the right side, they have roasted duck, bbq pork, crispy pork, chicken, clams, crabs, oysters, pig feet, fish, vegetables, chow mein, fried rice, and soup. The middle section, they have fried food, wonton beef stew noodles soup, and dim sum. On the left side, they have all kinds of sushi, sashimi, salad, cold seafood, fruits, and desserts. Personally I like the roasted duck, oysters and greens. Overall, the food looks great and tastes good. Customer service is great. The only thing that I would like to have and missed is "tong sui". I hope that they can add it to their buffet menu. :)

We've been going here for years because I love their wonton noodle soup (and I still do) as well as the quality of their sushi. However, during this last trip, the rice on the sushi was a little too sweet giving me "Safeway sushi" vibes. Although I will say that their honey walnut shrimp was really delicious this time! It has the perfect amount of crunch to shrimp to sauce ratio! As soon as we sat down, we were served drinks. The plates were cleared regularly so service was pretty good! We went 10 minutes before they opened and there was already a line. However there were enough seats for everyone. Within the first 30 minutes, the restaurant was full. I do feel that the seats/tables are a little close to one another making it hard to navigate with a plate full of food. The music seemed non existent but as a whole the restaurant wasn't horribly loud. For the wonton noodle soup, I love adding bok choy and bbq pork from those stations. Overall, I enjoyed the variety of food that they offer but just a little sad about the sushi.

We visited Tomi Buffet with a group of 10 for a birthday lunch. While the prices are reasonable for an all-you-can-eat experience, the food was rather disappointing.I tried about two plates from their extensive selection, ranging from American, Chinese, Japanese, and more. Unfortunately, the Japanese dishes were the most disappointing -- the fish didn't taste fresh at all. I understand that a buffet isn't the place to expect top-notch sushi, but I was hoping for something a bit better. The rest of the food was decent, but nothing stood out as particularly memorable. Overall, while Tomi Buffet offers variety at a fair price, there are plenty of better dining options in the area.

My family has come to Tomi Sushi and Seafood Buffet for many years now to celebrate birthdays (they do free birthday meals). It's quite a large buffet, and can get busy around typical holidays but otherwise you get seated pretty quickly. The quality is honestly pretty good across the board, and though we've found that there are definitely good and not so good days most of the time everything is delicious! Some our highlights are definitly the seafood, of which there's a small section where you ask one of the workers for a special dish served in little bowls; this selection seems to change frequently but typically has scallops, marinated raw shrimp, hamachi, and other choice pieces. There's plenty of sushi rolls, but seemed to be more rice and mayo/imitation crab/tempura focused, so I typically stick with the sashimi and nigiri pieces. The hot food includes typical chinese buffet food, dim-sum, and a pretty good made to order noodle/wonton soup station.Overall, Tomi Sushi & Seafood is a great place to come celebrate with groups, especially if you love buffets and seafood!
