I have been here so many times even before the remodeling but I have never had a chance to review yet. Restaurant looks nicer and more modern after the remodeling. This time my family and I went to have dinner on New Year's Eve and our waitress was so nice. Drinks and foods came out fast and tasted good.The only thing that bothered me was. We ordered chip salsa, guacamole a d bean dip(which was not free anymore but it was understandable) and asked for more.... Turned out you can get 2 refills for chip but they did not mention that in the menu nor told us when we ordered at all. Oh well...... not too much chip is better for our health right

I stopped by for lunch today before the Super Bowl because I had the taste for some nachos, They fell short of my expectations. . I expected my nachos to be authentic, traditional nachos but they were not. They tasted OK just not authentic. I expected fresh grated cheese , Not cheese sauce And fresh salsa, and not just diced tomatoes The service was OK but not great.

I'm shocked the ratings for this place are so low. It's been a while since I've been to this location, but having gone recently, I can say that the service has drastically improved.They have one of the yummiest Micheladas in the bay area.The sopes are one of my personal favorites, along with their tacos and more recently, the poblano and enchiladas. I highly recommend skipping the ceviche, it's not very exciting and pretty basic, it's overall good but not really that great if you know what I mean. This place has definitely gone through some renovations and I can safely say that it's over a very beautiful inside.

First time eating here since moving to the area in 2018 and I'm glad to have the dinner experience. I don't really know what we ordered, but they were so yummy. The nacho chips were freshly made, and the dip was delicious. The sizzling bowl was tasteful And full of flavors. The next table ordered the same bowl but with seafood and that would be my target next. Service was awesome. Our server was super pleasant and friendly. The place is cute and nice and organized.

Our waiter Valeria is always friendly and attentive makes our dinning experience great. Food is on time and good. The staff comes and makes a round and checks on us and clears our table. Overall good experience on Sundays.

We came here on Mother's Day and although larger parties had to wait, we didn't since we designated either indoor or outdoor. It was warmer and so an outdoor table was available. The outdoor space was decorated nicely with vines and lights throughout. The seating was near Hesperian but with the music it wasn't too loud.The waiter took awhile to take out order. And when he did he took the order of another table that came 10 minutes after us right away. So the timing can be wonky here.The menu is large and comprehensive. My partner got the chimichanga, which was big. I got the plate with chicken wings, quesadilla, and flautas. My partner liked the chimichanga, but said that it didn't heat up well the next day. He also linked the chicken wings on my plate and said they had a crunchy, buttery flavor. My quesadillas were basic and the flautas with chicken could have used more flavor in them.I thought the guacamole was pretty sour and could have used more flavor. It didn't go well with the other dishes because it was so sour. I think overall my food was fine but it was missing something. I do look forward to coming back and trying other dishes. But for 2 dishes and a margarita, $60 was on the pricey side, so we won't necessarily be in a rush to come back.

If you want deliciously satisfying and authentic Mexican food then The Mexican is where you want to be. My family has been coming here for years and no matter what you order from the menu the food is beyond expectation. This time I even ordered the grilled chicken taco salad and loved it! I had some concern before getting my dish bc I didn't know if it would be bland or boring (side note: I typically I don't order a salad at a Mexican restaurant (like come on) but I wanted something light bc my stomach wasn't feeling great the night before). The salad was so filling and so colorful -- I was impressed. My belly thanked me for choosing the safer choice. The service was great and our group was consistently checked on. Not to mention the amount of space we had to catch up and share stories was perfect (we were not competing against loud noise). Anytime I'm in the east bay and crave Mexican food, I'll be here. What's not to love?

I had to come see for myself after seeing all the complains about their food on Yelp. Now, I have to agree. Their food is not authentic anymore, it is too Americanized!!! Maybe that's why on a Friday night at about 7pm and they are not busy. I've been here on a Friday night and they were usually packed!!!We ordered the Mini Sopes and the corn masa has no flavor or Mexican spices and they were very mushy. The Caldo de Res (Beef Soup) also had no flavor or Mexican Spices. Tasted like a regular vegetable soup with beef. I have never had Caldo de Res with clear broth!!!I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that doesn't give you free chips and salsa. My server said they don't do that anymore is because they are freshly made. That is one of the dumbest excuse I've ever heard because I know plenty of Mexican restaurant / Taqueria still give free chips and salsa and some of those restaurants give you freshly made chips.Prices doesn't match up to the food quality. I don't might them rising their prices if they would of kept the great tasting authentic Mexican food you used to served, instead serving this Americanized crap!!! 2 Stars because their drinks are still good!!!

First off the food is great! The chips are homemade and really good. The problem we had was the service. I was part of a group of 12. 10 got there food and were almost done when the 11th got hers. The 12th person they brought part of the order and she canceled the rest because they didn't even start it yet. By that time there was only a handful of customers so they weren't busy
