Solid burger spot with great vegetarian and vegan options. They have both a vegan veggie patty and Impossible meat. You can request a vegan menu that specifically lists what's available. We always build our own burgers, and it's great to get unlimited toppings. My hack is to get the grilled pineapple on the side for dessert.

My husband and I decided to enjoy a little lunch date on a Friday afternoon. We had a gift card for The Counter and thought it would be a good idea to use it before it expired. We were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in and seated indoors. Although the weather was perfect for outdoor seating, we had our laptops with us, so we opted for the indoor table. We started with the Fifty Fifty appetizer, choosing sweet potato fries and tater tots. Both were tasty, and my husband especially enjoyed the salt on the sweet potato fries. For the main course, I tried the Sonoma Bowl. I wasn't expecting a literal patty on top of the salad, but I can adjust. The overall taste was a 6/10. The basil pesto helped make it more enjoyable, but I had to ask for extra to finish the greens. My husband ordered the Bacon BBQ Burger and swapped out the cheese. He said it was just an average burger.Unfortunately, this is a 3-star review because of the service and appetizer. Everything else didn't feel worth the price or the drive down from Union City to San Jose. Paying $19 for a burger and $18 for a salad, especially with no sides included, felt excessive. Overall, we won't be returning to this location, or any other for that matter.

I came here for dinner. No wait time to be seated. We sat outside which was nice. Shared a burger because I thought their portion size was big. The burger was perfectly cooked and the fries were yummy.

I mean....I didn't know what I was getting into when I stepped in but man was I pleasantly surprised. The counter make your own burger option is just too wild. So many premium options, fresh ingredients and simplistic recipes. Sides chosen were also amazing. We shared a multiple: onion straws, sweet potato fries and horse string fries and it couldn't have been better. Our server thank you was servicing the entire restaurant so she did her best. The ambiance is exactly what you would expect for Santana roe but better. The lights, the music, the vibe....it was perfect. Such a great addition. Will def be back t explore the menu.

The Counter at Santana Row is a fantastic spot for burger lovers who want a customizable dining experience. The build-your-own-burger concept is fun, allowing you to choose from a wide variety of proteins, toppings, sauces, and buns. Whether you're into classic beef or looking for something different like a turkey or Impossible burger, there's something for everyone. I opted for a beef burger with smoked gouda, avocado, and garlic aioli on a brioche bun--absolutely delicious! The restaurant has a modern, casual atmosphere, perfect for a laid-back meal after shopping. They also offer a variety of sides like sweet potato fries and onion rings, which pair perfectly with their burgers. The milkshakes are a great addition too, especially if you're in the mood for something sweet. The service was friendly, though it can be slow when the place is busy, especially on weekends. Overall, The Counter is a great choice if you're in Santana Row and craving a high-quality, fully customizable burger.Pros: * Customizable burgers with endless options * Great location in Santana Row * Casual, modern vibe * Delicious milkshakes and sidesCons: * Service can be slow during peak hours * Prices are a bit high, but reflect the location and customization options

I think the counter is one of our favorite burger spots we like to get every few months. Their burgers are always extremely juicy and done to the temperature we select. We usually get the jalapeño signature burger or counter burger. Everything is as though it appears online with the ingredient and condiments. If you need a burger fix, this is a great place to check out

Yes during the week but not for a Friday or Saturday night date. If you have kids then sure, any day or time of the week. The food was amazing and most likely the best burger I have had since I moved to Santa Clara county. Their fries are terribly addicting. But no real gung-ho or gusto but great food.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a new restaurant in San Jose and came across an advertisement for The Counter Custom Burger. I immediately wanted to try it! The walk there wasn't too far, and when we arrived, we ordered: * Drinks: Strawberry lemonade, water, and an Oreo milkshake * Appetizer: The Fifty-Fifty (half fries, half onion rings) * Burgers: Old School Cheeseburger & Jalapeño Bacon CheddarEverything was delicious, and we'll definitely be returning whenever we're in the area. The service was also great! A special shoutout to the bartender on 3/2/25--he was so sweet and took the time to explain the menu since he noticed the waitress was busy.Overall, great quality food and excellent service! Highly recommend!
