You didn't need any salad dressing with this salad. The glad from the flavourful salmon was all it needed. Sooooooo good.
One of us had the salmon over greens. It was just ok and nothing mind boggling

The Busy Wife is popping up in Dyafa's space in Jack London Square on Sundays. not sure about other days. food service uneven, 1/2 hour between some courses. kitchen may have been overwhelmed.offerings: individual entrees or all 4 for $35 which includes mimosa-mimosa was a small bottle of brut champagne + can of pineapple juice-salad with Pink Lemonade and Ginger Vinaigretteroasted wild salmon was dry, overcooked. salad underneath was vibrant-smothered potato Frittatasloaded with pepper jack, red potatoes, green onions & multi-colored peppers. smothered with heat? too dry, not moist-shrimp & grits: "creamy, grits topped with creole shrimp etouffee"best dish in the package, freshly made. almost licked the plate clean.-biscuitee doux: "homemade biscuit & carmelized peaches drizzled in a house-made honey butter sauce topped with goat cheese"*biscuit too dry, sauce mostly sweet tasting.4 stars good value. food quality needs tweatingleftovers:-doubt food would have traveled well. -dj was spinning records so lots of great music

Randomly walked by her pop-up after going to the Jack London Farmer's Market on Sunday. I was so enticed by the live DJ I had to come stop by. We weren't planning on eating, but decided to come try it out!We had the oxtail and grits and the peach biscuit. Let me tell you, I give that biscuit 5 STARS! The honey butter sauce that's drizzled on top is so tasty and rich, I wanted to lick it off the plate! Despite being so rich, it wasn't over powering and had the peaches and goat cheese to cut the richness. The biscuit itself was so flaky and buttery! I could have definitely eaten 3 biscuits and called it a day! The chef came out to personally tell the crowd her youngest son was the one who "perfected" the recipe and man props to her son! I can't wait til they decide to sell that sauce in a jar. The oxtail grits were good, I wish they added more gravy but the taste was there. The grits were nice and chunky, but smoother than I thought. I usually like my grits more gritty. I think I would've liked it on some rice.

We had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday here at The Busy Wife pop up in Jack London Square. The service was absolutely amazing only to be topped off by delicious food. Weekend pre fix brunch was delicious and included a sample of the entire menu.Save room for the dessert biscuit! Huge portion of a perfectly baked biscuit with fresh fruit and a sauce to die for. Will be back soon. Great for a large party, date night or girls brunch.

We've been meaning to try the busy wife and finally made it this past weekend. We didn't go for he prefix menu mainly because I'm not fond of small portions. I had the shrimp and grits. Honestly it's been quite some time since I had grits so I decided to try. I was delighted, g the grits kept my taste buds dancing from beginning to end. These are by far the best grits I have ever had. I am beyond happy I gave it a try. I was not disappointed one bit. I am looking forward to trying other dishes and am hoping there is not one inch of disappointment. The oxtail and brown rice was a good portion as well but my friend wasn't too to fond of the rice. The oxtail generally comes with grits but she does not like grits and the chef was kind enough to provide a brown rice option. Unfortunately it wasn't a hit with her because the rice was a bit soupy. It would have been nice to have other side dish options available because not everyone may like grits. Her choice so I get it. I'll try it with grits next time.

I had the opportunity to randomly stumble upon The Busy Wife's pop up located in Dayafa's storefront in Jack London Square over the Labor Day weekend on Sunday. My gf and I split the "Brunch by the Habor", which was a pre-selected four course meal. The menu consisted of: Salmon Salad w/ Pink Lemonade & Ginger Vinaigrette, Smothered Potato Frittatas, Shrimp & Grits, Biscuitee Doux. Personal favorite was the Biscuitee Doux, but to be honest ALL the dishes were highly smackin' and incredibly delicious. If you have the opportunity to support this business / chef, please do. You will not be dismayed with her culinary skills and will unearth some amazing flavors smothered in her delectable dishes! If you don't believe the hype, peep the chef's Instagram page: @thebusywife2017 to view her collection of work.

We stopped by with our two dogs to get an after dinner sweet. We ended up getting an apple hand pie. The dogs even got a meaty bone each while we were waiting. The hand pie (and other goodies she threw in) was delicious! Looking forward to coming back for dinner and brunch!

I ordered the smothered potato frittatas ($8) for takeout as a little snack, and they were pretty delicious! My only issue was that it took nearly 25 minutes to get them to me. I had to go up to the cashier twice for updates, which was a little frustrating... But the menu looks great and I'd want to come back to try the weekend brunch menu.

So when you have GEMS in your community, you keep them shiny!! The Busy Wife is a true GEM of the bay. The food is delicious and consistent. The service is friendly and on point, and the vibe is EVERYTHING!! I've been here a few times specifically at the Jack London location for brunch, I've had Lunch during the week, and have had events catered by the Busy Wife. The food is always amazing! (She needs that crab dip on the brunch menu . When I do go to brunch, I get the full experience. 4 courses of beautifully plated, perfectly seasoned delicious food. First course is a Salmon Salad which was amazing with the pink Lemonade and Ginger vinaigrette. 2nd course was yummy smothered Potato Frittatas, the. The main course was a moist Ox Tails and grits bowl, followed by a heavenly Biscuitee Doux which is like a deconstructed peach cobbler with an addicting honey butter sauce (that stuff is addicting!!! I need a whole JAR!!!) you won't retreat this experience. The view of the water with boats passing by and the love do with the grooves doesn't hurt either!!!! Give it a try this weekend!!
