This is one of those spots that really gives the local, homey vibe. Being filipino myself, I found that sort of connection to the menu even though there are differences from traditional methods. By saying that, the food speaks for itself and its delicious. The owner was really friendly and broke their menu down for us with even a history of how Thank Que Grill became what it is. We ordered the Sisig Fries, Lumpia, and Lumpia Sliders. Everything was made to order and piping hot once it was brought to the table. The sisig are infant-approved, especially the aioli thats laid on top of the fries. We didnt finish our food and took a good amount home as the food is on the heavier side but thats not necessarily a bad thing. Im coming here again in the future and trying their Chicken Banh Mi.

TQG smacks!Tucked away from the noise of the city, TQG is like an oasis heading toward coast guard island. I had the Sisig fries, BBQ Chicken bowl, bbq chicken banh mi, lumpia, and the fruit salad. I recommend all of it, but when i come back I'm definitely getting the sisig fries again and trying the lumpia sliders. Service was amazing! That's the Filipino culture but you really feel it in here. Outdoor seating options with a nice covered patio.

Date: 9/5/2024 Time: 1:05 PM 74° SunnyA shout out to Victor G and Jim D, two of my fellow yelpers. I would have never known about Thank Que Grill until I read their reviews. Thanks, Victor & Jim. I came here with somebody who I know is a Lyft driver. D. Broadnax treated me to lunch earlier because he and I knew some of the same people from two different high schools.Thank Que Grill is a hidden gem, a brick & mortar on Dennison Street, not far the cross street of Embarcadero E in Oakland. Depending on which direction one is headed to this destination, from Oakland it is a left turn on Dennison; from Alameda it is cross the Park Street Bridge, left on 23rd Avenue, continue straight ahead on E. 7th Street onward to Embarcadero E and right turn on Dennison.Service was attentive, but the wait time for lunch was about 15 minutes. At the time, the restaurant had an influx of restaurant patrons and ran out of chicken for the Thank Que Bowl. No problem, patience is a virtue. No drama here. Life is too short for drama. The chef needed to prepare the chicken. Our bowls were freshly prepared and quite enjoyable. We were also comp an order of Shanghai lumpia. The lumpias were on point, especially with my garlic vinegar.Seating capacity indoor is 18 people. Outdoor patio is more spacious and the ambiance is casual and comfortable. Based on my observation, there are 4 community tables with benches, 3 small tables with a pair of chairs and a long table with tall barstools. Great outdoor dining area for chillaxin' while enjoying lunch during the summer months. The only drawback I have, and it is not the restaurant's fault, is I don't drive and there is no public transportation nearby. I will return for a future visit. Finally, thanks to D. Broadnax for treating me to a wonderful lunch and for the laughs. I'm still laughing about them June birthdays. LOL.

Please run and checkout this amazing fresh and fresh and fresh food! Now, if you know anything about this area you know that there's no food, fresh or otherwise, in this area off Embarcadero. I work around the corner and short of the hot dog cart on the corner, we out of luck, especially with the recent closing of Quinn's. Well, my colleague had the Rice bowl with chicken and Turkey lumpia while I had the ThankQue salad with BBQ.... Yes, BBQ tofu! Yum!Let's get into this salad. It was delicious. First of all the salad had cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, romaine, jalapeno, carrots, pickled salad, bean sprouts, and my God, the bbq tofu was so flavorful and well made, and I promise that homemade dressing was everything!!!Now, my colleague was thoroughly impressed, as I, with the grill on the patio where their signature bbq chicken as made. No complaints! These men were welcoming, happy and proud of their food, as well as offered samples of their bbq chicken.Good service, value, and a comfortable setting. That patio is the perfect escape from the city streets and stale offices.

Was on my way to eat lunch at Jack London Square when I saw a spinning sign and a point in the right direction to Filipino BBQ. I wasn't aware of any Filipino food in the neighborhood right across from the Coast Guard Island entrance so had to check it out. The menu was focused on a handful of dishes, and we tried two for this round (because there will be other rounds): Thank Que Bowl and the Lumpia Sliders. DELICIOUS! My bowl had a healthy portion and was filling with all its yumminess. The lumpia was sold out when we visited, so we'll have to come back to try that next!I would've liked to have eaten on an actual plate and use actual utensils when dining in instead of using to-go boxes, but that wasn't a show-stopper.The staff was friendly, the place was clean, and the backyard was super cute! I can see a large family gathering on the patio and having a good, tasty meal together. Mabuhay!

Look at the picture of the lumpia$7 for 3 pieces They are nothing special They're good but not worth paying double what there worthBahn mi sandwich It was okToo much cilantro stems that you can't bite through so you end up pulling it all out in one bite. And its $14!!!Way overpriced !I could be a decent place if they had decent prices I will NOT return due to prices!!!

I had a conference in Oakland and these were one of the vendors that served us food. I'm pretty critical of Filipino food as my family serves up some pretty mean dishes but here was my experience.AMBIANCE:They were hosting at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center as opposed to their upcoming brick-and-mortar. Their setup was simple and nice.FOOD:Pancit (Recommend)Pancit is a staple Filipino dish found at numerous feasts and celebrations, consisting of stir-fried noodles with meat and vegetables such as chicken, pork, shrimp, celery, carrots, onions, garlic, and cabbage.Shanghai Lumpia (Recommend)A medley of ground pork, carrots, celery, onions, water chestnuts, oyster sauce, salt & pepper all delivered in a crunchy wrap.BBQ Chicken (Recommend)Juicy chicken that was well marinated with a pleasantly sweet and zest to it. CUSTOMER SERVICE:Great! Rene and Leo represented Thank Que Grill and they were kind and friendly people.TL; DR OVERALL:4.5 Stars. Awesome! Delicious food that was very comforting. I approve and I'm sure my elders would approve too. A simple menu that's not too flashy. I'm glad to see a growth in Filipino food businesses so whether it's your first time or not, be sure to check them out. I wish Kuya Rene and his team all the best. #FilipinoFoodMovementTips:* Follow them on social media for updates.

A tiny fast food gem hidden away in what appears to be an industrial area on the waterfront in Oakland. It is close to a large marijuana dispensary. New, clean, family run. 5 or six Phillipino choices. The lumpia were hot off the fryer. The bun mi were either pork chicken or turkey. We were told the meat was marinated for 2 days and they were covered in a delicious barbecue sauce. Mom, grandma, uncle, nephew, and father were all behind the counter doing something. It hit the spot!
