If I could give this place 10 stars, I would!! We ordered the ube and the banana matcha and they were both so delicious!! The banana matcha is a 5 star in itself. I would 100% recommend it.The barista was so kind and quick with our drinks. He was very thorough with explanations. The inside was a very calm vibe. I could see myself staying for a few hours to study or just to hangout with friends. It's earthy and modern. Just be aware of the parking situation. It took us around 15-20 minutes to look for parking. But don't let that stop you from going! It's so worth it.

I came back here as a way to pass time while I waited for my co-workers to show up for dinner at a different place in Vietnam Town. It appeared a lot of changes had occurred since then - there's a kiosk, the menu seems to have expanded, and there was now a small charge for certain drinks if you want to get them iced. These first two changes are fine - the kiosk makes it easier to get through if the barista is occupied with a different customer, and you usually can't go wrong with more options. It was the charge on cold that set me off - an extra charge for what one of my co-workers listed as less to drink. Unfortunately I could also see why they did this - I ended up ordering the drink regardless, because the only times I'd ever order a hot drink was if it was an accident. The Matcha Lavender Latte I got was good, but not enough to make me feel happy about paying for the extra charge. On the bright side, the ambiance is the same - it's still got that warm, plant-centric atmosphere with amount the same amount of seating that it was last time. Maybe my taste has changed or I'm becoming more stingy with my money, but I'm not sure if it's worth another return.

Ambiance: This cafe is located in Viet Town in San Jose. Tea Lyfe Drinks is a cute boba spot with plenty of plants and aesthetically pleasing decor. Unfortunately, despite the inviting atmosphere, the drinks were not great.Matcha Sensation: This matcha drink tasted like watered-down milk, and it was clear the quality of the matcha could have been better. It left a slight, lingering chalky aftertaste, which was unpleasant. When we received the drink, it was completely unsweetened, even though we had asked for 75% sweetness. The baristas were accommodating and adjusted the sweetness twice. The first attempt made no noticeable difference, but the second finally added just enough sweetness and this coming from someone who doesn't like overly sweet drinks. Overall, the quality sucked and better matcha lattes can easily be found elsewhere. This drink was disappointing. i give it a 3/10Strawberry Lychee: Made with jasmine tea, this drink had strong lychee and strawberry flavors, which I liked. It also contained small strawberry chunks, which didn't make the drink look very appealing, though I personally didn't mind. It wasn't overly sweet, which was a plus for me. It was a drink that was nothing out of ordinary . I'd give it a solid 7/10

One of my favorite spots in San Jose for a strawberry matcha with oat milk! Their boba is always delicious, with a perfectly chewy texture. This time, though, the drink felt a little extra sweet, so next time I'll go with 50% sweetness instead of 75%. The ambiance is great, with lots of cool artwork on the walls, and the service is always super quick!

We were in the area and wanted an evening boba for the drive to SF. What was intriguing about Tea Lyfe was their horchata series (horchata + another flavor). We ordered the assam black tea with grass jelly and "Vietchata" (horchata + Viet coffee) with boba. The assam black tea with grass jelly tasted fine, but unexpectedly almost floral. I wondered if they mixed it up with jasmine tea or something. For the "Vietchata" with boba, I honestly think these two things shouldn't be mixed. I could taste the coffee and I could taste the horchata, but the combination just didn't work for me. It was too weird. Kudos for innovation, but it's a no for me.Tea Lyfe is a cute little boba shop, small and cozy. I loved all the plant decor and overall modern look, but drinks during our first visit just didn't cut it.

Was in San Jose for a little bit today and stopped by because I saw on IG they had heart shaped cookies and valentines stickers on the drinks! They didn't put any stickers on the drink but that's ok cause the cookie was a heart! For me the highlight was the cookie, not just cause the shape but it was really tasty, I'd come again just to eat the cookie it was that good! The drink I got a matcha with oat milk and boba, it was pretty good. Maybe not my favorite matcha I've had but still good overall. Would definitely wanna come to try the horchata drink and drink fusions they have. It's a very cute little shop with calming decor. The lady working here was nice as well! Would definitely come again.

4.5 STARSDate: Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024What: Boba Tea TakeawayTime Ordered: around 5:45pmTime Picked Up: about 10 mins laterHow Ordered: GrubhubMatcha Series: Matcha Sensation, No Sweet, No Milk, Less Ice, Add Honey Boba, Add Vegan Grass Jelly $7.75The hubby and I were picking up dinner across the plaza. I adore matcha, but without milk. When I realized Tea Lyfe lets you order just straight matcha, I was sold! Takeout was easy. Decided to order via GH and the hubs grabbed my tea, while I grabbed our dinner. The matcha was a good strength. And the toppings weren't too sweet. The grass jelly was so silky. And the balls were soft and chewy. I little too soft for my liking, but nothing I couldn't deal with.Glad I found a spot that doesn't only do matcha lattes when I just want the matcha. I will definitely be back.REVIEW #3602

TeaLyfe is a place that I don't often go, but it's usually crowded whenever I do. This time around, I got the Cafe Breve, Blueberry Matcha, Hello Em (tiramisu latte), and Thai Tea. The Cafe Breve and Hello Em were both strong and solid drinks. Thai Tea is a basic drink so there's no complaints there. As for the blueberry matcha, I wish there was a stronger blueberry taste. It had a very faint taste, and you can rly only taste the matcha. The color is very pretty though.

Instagram got me with the banana milk matcha, but unfortunately it was unbearably sweet even though I got it with 25% sweetness. It was disappointing since I couldn't even finish the drink. The best part of the drink was the banana brulee on top. Giving a few stars just because the service was fine & the space was nice.

I've only visited the San Jose Vietnam Town a handful of times and it's always busy--but you notice a theme. There are some places that are always busy drawing a crowd, filling up the parking spots (although I've never had a problem with getting a parking spot), and some places not so busy. Tea Lyfe wasn't so busy. Frankly, the drinks were rather disappointing. My wife's Jasmine Milk Tea was disappointing. My Strawberry Horchata was disappointing. And they were both marked as "Favorites, Best Seller". The Jasmine Milk Tea didn't have any tea flavor. The Strawberry + Horchata combination just did not work. It's challenging to think that if these were "Favorites, Best Seller", what about the others? We had high hopes. But ultimately, we were pretty disappointed.
