I live in SF, and Taylor's is absolutely 1000% worth a trip from The City to The Town. The boudin sausage (white and hot varieties), andouille, and many other varieties are simply among the best you can get.And in the past they've offered to grind and fill sausage with my own spice blend, which is a level of amazing service that I've never been offered elsewhere.

I don't think Taylor's needs another boost, but I love this place. Staff is friendly, selection is ample, and they have stuff you can't find elsewhere. The sausages are all so on point, I love the andouille for red beans and rice, get a smoked ham hock while you're there. The atmosphere is no frills, that's part of the charm. Last night I got there shortly before closing, it wasn't busy and had a nice chat with the owner who took over the place from Mr Taylor. This man shared that he started sweeping up and gradually made his way through the ranks and now he owns the place. Mr Taylor has passed but he leaves a meaty legacy.

Attended an event in the area and a group of us decided to fire up the grill afterwards. Taylor's immediately was suggested. Located in Swan Market, a one stop shop for fresh sausages. With a variety of meats available, ask about any specific meats you are looking for not on display in the glass cooler such as beef, ribs and chicken. The service is great, with counter staff answering questions and providing suggestions. I enjoyed the Italian sausage most. Cooked well on the grill and great seasoning.

What a great find! The people working here are so friendly and make an art of sausage making, in which they specialize. I tried a few things, but was blown away by the spicy pepperoni sticks, so much I returned and bought 10 more for my friends. The butcher explained the meat is cut and smoked in house, and that he uses special spices and less salt than regular spicy pepperoni sticks. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right!

Well, these guys set me up and because of that, this review might hurt. I called this place before I flew in, because they had no website. I asked if they shipped, because traveling with food can be a chore. The woman told me, they don't ship, but they can help prepare food to be shipped. When I asked what that meant, she told me I would have to ask in person. So despite being in San Francisco, I made the drive in the height of traffic to get here. Everyone was friendly, but the guy played himself. When I asked about prep for shipping. He said for $20 he could hard freeze items. 1), I needed to grab and run, I can't come back the next day. 2) You could have told me that over the phone. 3) When I asked if they could vacuum seal the bags, he said they wrap it tight. Sorry, wrapping tight is not vacuum seal. Meat stays fresh up to 6 times longer when vacuum sealed and You are not a meat shop without it. I ended up buying a variety of Extra Hot Smoked Sausages and would you be surprised to hear on a scale of 1-10, they were a 3 at best. I'll co-sign, they were flavorful, but a good hotlink will make you dab your brow. At $12 a pound, prices were also ambitious. Anything more than $9 is unreasonable in my book. These guys could have saved me a lot of time and money by just giving details over the phone. It was a massive waste of time effort and energy to get here to be disappointed. This was a 1 star experience, but I'll double down as again, the meat was flavorful, despite not being hot enough to give a baby a burp.
