Tarim Garden is very much that local hole in the wall, but if you're a fan of spicy stuff don't pass up on on this Uygher/Xinjiang place. They hold no bars on the seasoning and it's all fantabulous!Service is good with pleasant staff members doing their best, but ordering is entirely QR-code based. As a smaller establishment...things also do get pretty busy during peak hours and kitchen output tends to fall behind at times like that, so plan your visit accordingly. ==Cucumber appetizer - 5/5with garlic is nice and fresh, touch of sour note from vinegar. Sliced in thin pieces than cubes I'm used to at most other Chinese spots. ==Spicy beef noodles - 5/5As they amusingly note, this is legit seasoning and their spicy warning is for real. Hot damn, is it delightful but even mild packs a serious punch. Seriously dense in heat and spices. Noodles are much like thick glass noodles, with all the hefty chew to them albeit being more brittle. Beef is pretty tough but more like in a jerky like fashion with all the spices. As a drier noodle it is a delight for the summer heat.==Cumin lamb - 5/5So. Much. Cumin. It's great since the tendency in most places is to hold back, but none of that here. Just right balance of dry crisping up in meat and moisture in the meat for more springy chew. ==Pan fried lamb dumplings - 4.5/5Very doughy, kind of like bread dumplings, making for a very soft yet chewy texture. Not too crispy with the pan fry, but enough to get a slight texure contrast (could do with a sharper sear though). It's a very cozy iteration of dumplings with a pretty strong flavor once you bite into the inside; cause it is lamb after all. Funnily enough dipping them in the spicy beef noodle oil made for a nice combo, but that's just me...
